Weenmeoff's Inside Soil Alien Abduction Grow Journal

Calmag is 1 Tsp per gallon. I think the bottle says it on the back. Make sure you check. Maybe we have different strength solutions, ya know? Lol

I don't think the bottle says but the chart for veg I think says 2.5 ml per gal, do you think it is ok to add that even though it is a water not a feed?

Thanks!

The yellowing is definitely random and not just lower. I gave them 4 gallons of water with calmag at 1 tbsp or 5 ml per gallon. I then spent almost an hour weaving and defoliating any leave that were blocking light and it still seems like I could pinch a bunch more off.

When watering, the plant that has the worst yellowing, her roots by the base become uncovered which I cover back up with soil, not sure if that could have anything to do with my problem...? Should I add soil to the top of it and or all of them?

Yeah you can add soil to the top of it again. It happens. Erosion.

Let's start off with what is the pH of the water going in, run off, soil or anything that you have measured. Nute schedule is needed also. Looks like it is low on nitrogen or it is locked out. Flushing would definately help the lock out issue and you would have to make sure it is pH'd in between 6.2 - 6.8. But she definitely could use a little more food. :morenutes:

With foliar feeding results are almost immediate. But just make sure that it is safe for foliar before using it. Calmag or calimagic is ok. We also give them Flowers kiss a couple times a week just as a loving touch and preventative maintenance.

I am now going to go back and look through the last couple weeks of your journal to see if I can come up with a better answer for ya. Hang in there bud, they look good minus the random yellowing.

Thanks Nis! At the moment, I only know the Ph of the water/nutes I give them, it's about 6.5. I always ph down my water from 7.5 to 6.5. I have a PPM meter, a soil tester on order and should have in a few days. The schedule is feed, water, water and today was water #2 so next will be feed. They've been taking about 4 gallons between the 3 each in #7 smart pots, every 6-8 days.

Do you mix your calmag with kiss in one spray bottle? Does it last or go bad, ie can I mix up a 1/2 gallon and use over a month or so? Is it safe for clones and seedlings, guessing yes on this one. I was giving them a mix of calmag and kiss every few days but have not in a couple weeks so will plan on mixing some up bardo your answer to the above questions.

Will also add soil.

Thanks again!

Rock on!

Is there a reason that you are doing 2:1 watering? I can only assume it is to not use as much. We feed atleast once a week depending on how close to transplant they get in which they need watered or feed more frequently. But I'm still thinking they just need more food. Is the yellowing mainly on the lower growth that doesn't get as much light?

The flowers kiss and calmag get mixed in the same spray bottle. No idea on how long it'll keep since we go through a liter of solution in about 7-10 days. Oh and don't use it on seedlings less than 3 weeks. They don't have the root system established to take it as well. But clones from the moment they cut chopped off their mother they get sprayed everyday until they get transplanted to a larger pot.

Keep us updated! :thumb:

I do 2:1 watering because that is what the chart that came with the nutes says to do. Should I go to 1:1? Do you think I can get by without flushing? I was thinking I could bring one plant at a time into my backyard at night and use the hose. Still a major PITA and would rather avoid it if possible.

Yellowing is not only on lower parts of plants but they may not be getting enough light. I've been punching a bunch of leaves...

You said not to use on seedlings under 3 weeks because the lack of roots but ok to use on clones but clones don't have roots either...?

I was a little worries about the humidity in the dog cage, suggestions on how to get that down? I've actually had the fans go off with the lights but will change that so they're on 24/7, you thi that will do the trick?

Much thanks!

We use fox farm nutes and it says feed weekly. We alternate feeding and watering. They never get straight water though. We add calmag everytime.

For flushing we run a good amount of water through them and on the last jug, we have a 3 gallon weed sprayer...now that's a PITA when you have to full it up 7 times lol, but we also add sledgehammer to it to make sure it did the job. Canna actually flushes two of ours last night since they have some weird leaves.

Don't punch your leaves lol.

You need to spray clones once or twice daily since they do not have roots and feed through the leaves until roots grow. They come off an adult so they can take the feeding. Seedlings on the other hand have never seen nutes before and you should ease into them over a couple of weeks. But I'll be honest, I've sprayed seedlings with our mix and it didn't bother them one bit. Just wanted to not give you the wrong info.

On to the humidity. You can either run your fan 24/7 and it'll bring the humidity down over night and keep it steady. We don't turn our fans off and it never gets over 50% here. We also have a dehumidifier set up to kick on at 55%. That brings me to option two. Dehumidifier. We have one with a hose that pumps into a 5 gallon bucket so we don't have to empty the bucket on the dehumidifier and it stays running.

Hope all is well bud. Keep up the questions if you have them. :thumb:

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere not to spray the clones directly but to spray the inside of the domes which is what I have been doing. I mixed up some calmag and kiss and ph'ed it to between 6-6.5 and boy was that a pain since I have a quart container, I usually do 1 ml ph down per gallon so was doing 1/4 ml and had to go down and up a couple times. I just sprayed them directly. I read in your thread where millertm thought ph should be around 2 for foliar so will be checking back to see if that is confirmed.

so far no real changes in the humidity in the clone cage, it went down to 69. Fans are on 24/7 but the exhaust fan is only a 160 cfm, maybe I should get a Y and hook to my big exhaust fan....? Then I would also need to filter that because it vents outside my garage. It has been really hot and humid here. I turned my dehumidifier up to run continuously so we'll see if that helps. No current issues with bugs or mildew but harvest is a couple few weeks away so I want to correct this ASAP.

I'll do some more research on the foliar feeding. It caught me off guard hearing that as well and I'll get back to ya.

The clones are looking great. Looks like you'll have some winners there.

Thanks Nis! I'll report anything I find too.

My GF has been bugging me to get a dehumidifier for the house so I think I'll bring the one from the garage inside and get a bigger one for the garage as I think it may be undersized for the space. The garage has always been very humid so when I bought my 69 Charger, I got the dehumidifier and a drive in bubble for the car which cost a pretty penny but is necessary, don't want my Charger rusting from humidity in the garage!

So I went and pulled a major bone head move, yesterday when I switched the fans in the budding clone space to 24/7, I forgot to plug the light into the timer so it was on for 13 hours that it was supposed to be off so the lights were on for 35 hours. They're back to their regular 11/13 schedule now. Is this going to majorly effect them?

Let's hope not but watch for hermies! :goodluck:

I've had a few timer malfunctions over the years, imo 1 day isn't going to hurt it but like Mr krip said be on the look out for nanners just incase.

Thanks guys. It's been 7 1/2 weeks or 52 days since I flipped them. I'm pretty close to that 40% amber mentioned in the chart below that Krip posted in Canna and Nis journal. The main purpose of the clones will be to sample and take notes so I have an idea when to harvest the George's. So if I see any seeds forming should I chop them or does it matter?
