A purple high and a white high on the same bud. To some extent I think it’s probably true :). The white part mostly looks much weaker and more larfy. I haven’t tried smoking any yet.
Nice to get some new stuff coming in, yeah. A nice little bonus after the fun of growing it. I traded the PC bud for firewood. Most of the rest of the stash is odds and ends and I’ll use them for skin cream mostly I think.
I’ve been enjoying smoking the Carnival the last two days.
Thanks kindly Amy for the compliments, on behalf of the plant. Not sure I can take any credit but I’m really happy with her too. :)
Geez some of the bats in my roof sound like they must be weighing in around five pounds... The weather is nice, maybe I’ll pitch a tent in the yard for a while - it’s nice sleeping in a tent in summer.
Cherries weren’t ripe last time so going to go take another peek at them tomorrow.

Do you have rabies in Canada? Bats?

Yes I think the only potential carrier of rabies where I am is bats. But it’s mostly a story to scare the kids with. Maybe once in twenty years there’s a reported case of rabies in the province.

I wasn't sure if you had it there...We don't have rabies here but we have Australian Bat Lyssaviruses, which was only discovered 20 years ago and can be transmitted to humans/animals.
i guess I should apologise for getting off topic in here and driving your subutees away.
:rofl::passitleft:

Nah I cut the long hair a few years back. Bats in the hair is the least of my problems I think.
No worries Griswald. I guess it’s just a weird journal... I’m not even sure what a subutee is- go ahead- drive em away, some other critter is bound to move in and take their place anyway.

I've often heard Alaskans point out that they're welcome amongst all the other critters as long as they can hack it. The other critters still gonna be there when the humans leave. It's the humans' choice. :bongrip:

[Edit] I was just reminded of Michener's book "Alaska", about the first explorations, the gold rush, humping gear over impossible mountain passes in the Yukon, etc. Anyone else read it?

Hopefully you'll let us know how those bleached buds smoke. I head mixed reviews about them
Some say it's great and some say it makes for a,bad smoke with little high. I want to think it makes them really good, but I've never seen or smoked any before.

@HayStack nice username :thumb: makes me smile big :D

Ok so this is super trivial, but if anyone here would like to see any particular emojis from teh old selections restored to the forums please visit my thread for this trivial initiative... it’s only running for a week...

Restoring the favourite emojis

And FYI, I was gunning to just have them all restored as promised, but that ain’t gonna happen. So we’ll see how many of the most preferred we can manage to bring back.

:Namaste:

Thank you mr K :)

I haven’t read that book GT but I grew up in the Yukon and northern BC in the 60’s and 70’s and was well marinated in the bush culture of those times. Not the gold rush, but the people and stories it left behind, which were very colourful. That way of life is long gone as far as I can see. Seems like the animals are well outnumbered too. Just not at my house.

Haystack I may quick dry a variegated bud of that one today and try it, but I’m almost certain it won’t be as strong as the purple/green buds.

Wild cherries weren’t quite ready yet but I picked a tote full for making wine.

I’ll let them finish ripening in the tote for a couple days. This was just one small part of one tree. I’ll hit them up again in a few days if the crows haven’t got them all.
Lots of work ahead cleaning these up this morn.
Yes - pretty everything I own has bear slashes and fang holes in it. Lost most of my five gallon buckets and drinking water jugs last year too.

It’s in the last couple of years I’ve been feeling like almost all the wine I’ve made has been very good, and some is just great. I’m going hard on the wine making this summer because now the rise in quality has lead to constant shortages. :(

I’ve been enjoying this Carnival a lot. Like the Chocolope it’s an 80% sativa - just a little indica to take the edge off. A very vibrant high, slightly trippy - I’m looking forward to the cure.

Love the on topic cherries ;) nice touch: Cherry Carnival?

I sometimes wonder if wine made like that would give me the allergic reaction all alcohol seems too. It’s not just wine, so I know it’s not just the preservatives this country adds to everything... I’ve had it with whisky too, and vodka, and everything else I tried till my doctor begged me to stop ‘testing’.

Just sometimes when I see things like this, and the wine you showed a glass of a few weeks ago, really makes me want to try it. It looks and sounds sooo nice.

Man... Oz's of weed for wood.... that's a deal!
Hmmm.... whaddya know... you ARE growing trees!!!!

Yeah I thought that too Tead! We have a really nice wood guy, I wonder... chances are he grows it himself if he’s a toker. He lives in the bush halfway up a north facing mountain...

Have fun with the cherry wine!

It's SO gratifying to hear other respected growers praise Carnival! I found it a few years ago, and fell in love with the long strong buzz and the lack of crash. :slide: I turned SweetSue onto it and she spread the word, and now it's been percolating down to others. As her BIL called it - "the good stuff". Something about it keeps me coming back. I compare other strains to it. In 10 days I'll have my first taste in well over a year. The genetics are a mystery, but the results are special. Have you seen Neiko's lab test results?

Carnival Lab Test Results

The only oddities I see are the high CBG, and the very high Beta-Ocimene terps.
