Stating assistance available for low income cancer patients. The response was shocking. I could tell tales that would make u go home and cry for a week from the life situations I've encountered, the effects of cancer are so far reaching its shocking,

It's nice to read that you all feel like me when it comes to the weed and donate to those in medical need who have no money to pay the high prices for it at the dispensaries as I give away between five & ten pounds every year to the local clubs where I live so they can hand it out to licensed patients for free or dirt cheap which is what it's all about in my thinking since giving is always better then taking. Kudos to all of you & good karma will come back your way ten fold someday for knowing how to play! ~Peace~

Hawaii is a very strange place when it comes to helping others. I have helped only two folks and unfortunately they both have passed away. One cancer patient and the other was an older lady who was beaten over and over by her ex husband. She had had 14 re-constructive surgeries to be able to talk again. I got to know and love each one. It sure hurt when they passed.

Yes we can be growers and providers here in Hawaii...BUT.....there is no way to find patients! The are no lists or anything. If you just happen to meet someone that needs help you can list yourself as a care giver. They have to get a license too. I could go to one place that is a ticket mill and ask the patients if the needed help, however I'm afraid to do that. This place has been in trouble before.
We have no dispensaries either. It's a mess. People need help and there is no way to find them. They are trying to get it so an oz or less is a misdemeanor and is just a fine. We need legalization now.

I'm really excited to see the Ambrosia's go too.
They smell so amazing, so fruity!
They're feeding totally differently than the OG's it seems, and don't like their PPM's quite as high.
Might also have had to do with them being in 1 gallon pots for so long and were a bit root bound.
The high PPM's weren't letting them really spread their wings down below.
Hopefully now that they're all transplanted, they'll be able to handle it a bit better.
So this will be the test. I'm going to do one more heavy feed with everyone, if the Ambrosia's don't like it? They'll be going on a 1/2 strength feeding program from then on.

Hopefully I'll have the canopy where I want it in another week.
Everyone's responding to the topping from last week very well. But I don't think there will be enough room to top again.
Another week and a half, and lights should be flipped!

after that treatment they get and she could eat and be pain free.

That really is sad to hear OMM.
And is heart warming to know that you have been helping out.
But there has to be a way to find patients somehow.
Sounds like someone really has to step up and take control of that over there.
I find it hard to believe that such a beautiful place full of loving and caring people, wouldn't have someone to be addressing that problem.
If I lived there, and had time on my hands? I'd be that someone.
But unfortunately it's not in the cards for me ATM.

Just a thought here, but cannasensei just offered to help me find patients where I am.
And I'm sure his offer would extend as far as Hawaii too.
It sounds like that's his thing! He's very passionate about helping cancer patients, and he sounds to be damn good at it from how many responses he's had to just putting up a few cards in a couple local clinics.

But the people that should have it more than just casual smokers, are the sick, dying, suffering people all over the world that are going to be cut off from this medicine soon, so the government can get rich off it.
We all have to be realistic here.
It's not going to be legalized anytime soon. that's just a pipe dream.
And this is just my opinion here, but the reason why they have been handing out so many medical cards over the past decade, is so they can keep track of the people that are growing and using cannabis for medicinal purposes.
So that when they yank all the grow cards, they know where these people are. If they don't comply? they'll go to jail. Sick/dying or not.
This has been their plan all along. It hasn't been to allow patients access to these meds to help them. It's been to round everyone up, make it look like they care, try to take control of the plant, (that we all should have the god given right to use) and use it to make money. Plain and simple.
Big Pharma is behind all of our leaders in this world giving them all huge incentives to sneak these illegal laws into play so that big pharma will control this possible Cancer curing medicine of ours..

You guys should use burner prepaid phones and sign them up with fake address, put out business cards with that number and a description of the help you could provide. I would have a friend that doesn't live close to field the calls and meet with people to figure out their story. A simple background check for a few dollars to make sure they aren't a cop or a criminal and i think you might be able to help. The only person you need to worry about is your friend.

This is exactly why I've never gotten a medical card in any state (I've lived in 3 that offered the option). Until I can legally grow this plant when, where, and how I want to, I'll stay hidden. I agree with you that it certainly sounds like a good plan on their part. I'm not as sure that's what is happening in the US though. Our legalization efforts are coming from the local level. If I see a radical shift in US federal policy, that's when I'll start getting worried. I get real upset if I spend to much time thinking about the absurdity of making a plant illegal.

There has to be a way to connect patients in need with growers that want to help. That's the original concept behind dispensaries, but it seems that mission has been distorted. Craigslist is still risky if the grower has to do the patient screening. Perhaps that's the part that needs to be done by the public facing person. As a grower, I primarily want to make sure the person isn't a narc or thief just looking to find growers. Second, I'd like to provide for someone I feel some sort of bond with. It's sounding like we need something like an online dating site. Growers answer questions about what sort of patient they want to assist, ie I want a cancer patient, uses about 2 oz a month, no edibles, and prefers couch lock strains. Then the patient would answer the corresponding questions. The main thing that would be different is we would need a reliable screening process. hmmmm... website idea maybe?

Great idea Blazin, and that's exactly how I'd do it too.
If I only had the time to devote.
That's really the only thing stopping me. Between working 2 jobs, wife, dogs, life..
I just couldn't swing it right now.
If I had enough money to sit on, then I'd quit my jobs and donate myself to the cause.
But for now, I just couldn't put that financial burden on my wife's shoulders.
