So that’s the dilema I have… if I pop 2 of each that’s a 50/50 chance of getting a female and that’s awesome, but hitting the jackpot if I get a male because I can then pollinate my current ones with that genetics making a very very interesting mix of sativas there.

Now my other option if viable with the landlord here; I set up a tent for winter and at the end of the grow season take clones from whatever is good keep them alive thru winter and make the seeds then.

and yes these seeds are expensive but they do it because you can have a male and once you get that male you can literally propagate the genetics and never buy those seeds again. Ideally I should pop them all and the chances are you get a male and female in the batch breed them (inbreeding because the seeds come from the same mom and dad in theory) and get a million seeds after.

I would also like to try mixing the Honduras with the Malawi X purple haze.

I grew the same Ace Malawi X haze back in 2019 in France never got to see it flower… yes it was guerilla grow I love it.

That was a beautiful girl and it sucks you didn’t have a chance to finish her. I like what you’re thinking about crossing those two that would make something special. CL🍀 :thumb:

Yeah Mel I am, something tells me I may have another male with Duterte’s Nightmare so that could be cool to pollinate again the Personal Sat and the Durban… but I always wanted to grow the Malawi X Purple from Ace it’s my Everest… tried in the past but never got o see it flower it’s a real commitment to flower for 13-14 weeks.

So the qualities I’m looking for is almost undisturbed landrace linage because it has the most resistance to pest
(in my head landrace = inbred = outdoors = pest exposure = pest resistant).
I like the resistance to pest and/or biotic stress. Do not like the flowering time… not gonna happen in the 49th parallel we all saw that last year with my long flower Sativa phenos.

Then taking it from Aces online description;
TipoLANDRACE STRAIN (P2)
FormatStandard
Sativa / Indica ratio100 % sativa
THC11-18 %
CBDUp to 0.06 %
CBGUp to 1 %
Flowering indoors13-14 weeks
Flowering outdoorsMid November
YieldVery High
Resistance against spider mitesAverage
Resistance against powder mildewAverage-High
Resistance against botrytisHigh
Resistance against white flyAverage-High
Not really sure what's going on here, lol!

Landraces do seem to be a lot tougher in general than some of the crossbreeds.
It'll be really interesting to see how this goes for you.

Sorry if I didn’t explain myself correctly;

So Aces description about that Honduras is.;
Genetics2nd generation pure landrace sativa from Honduras.

I take that as Ace has not messed around with the genetics, and the seeds are most likely to be 2nd generation inbred from the original plants (assuming they had a female and male Honduras). That desirable for me.
The other thing I look for is Pest resistance, Ace describes this cultivar as;
Resistance against spider mitesAverage
Resistance against powder mildewAverage-High
Resistance against botrytisHigh
Resistance against white flyAverage-High
Resistance against coldAverage-High
Resistance against heatHigh

Something really desirable for us In the North as we have nasty humid and cold weather around September to November. Having resistant genetics is a very very desirable trait to have.

Last but not least Yields, Ace affirms that this is a heavy yielder with a main cola;
Very suitable for SOG crops due to its great yield in the main cola, or for SCROG, horizontal or network growing due to its excellent yield in the lateral branches and its vigorous reaction to pruning.

That fits perfect with my style of training. Vigorous reaction to pruning I take that as she wont settle down even under my high stress training, and I like that; if she reacts positively every 24 hrs to my extreme training it will be a great plant to grow.

Lol, thanks!
I was referring to the weird way the quote went in. There are parts missing, and the chart has some blank spaces. I'm pretty sure I did it, but I don't know how.

you can always check their landrace list its mouth watering...

they have one Filipino landrace Filipino Kibungan standard; I would lie if I didn't say I think what I have from Philippine could be this or related to this.

Thats what the mountains of Kibungan look like (wikipidea source), This is Mid north of Luzon biggest island of Philippines .

The only pure landrace I have is a Parvati valley sativa my buddy gave me. He won seeds from a breeder who went there and collected the seeds, and mine are the progeny of his grow, where he grew all 10 seeds and allowed the males to pollinate the females in his greenhouse.
The bud isn't particularly potent, but the high is pleasant and calm. I still haven't managed to fit any into an indoor grow as I felt my 60x60cm tent was too small. Maybe with the 60x120cm I'll try them out. Grow one plant horizontally.
He wanted to make some charas with one of the original strains used for it, but it didn't go so well. He'll be trying again soon.

Holly that sounds exciting ! :high-five: and charas are soooo good. And you have beans; thats a plant I would love to see, please tag me when you decide to grow them.

Those genetics used in the charas probably handle all types of pest like its nothing. Also great move from your buddy to inbreed them, means you get non diluted genetics.

Most of the times landrace have that geographic point they come from because the environmental factors do shape the pheno and geno traits. Its important to know where they are from and whats the weather conditions like, I go as far as to see the gaps of day length and photoperiods.

All good this morning, clip and train one Auto, and bent and twist the other Auto.

She already has some terpenes going smells awesome, this one is more and more to my liking than the other one.

The youngsters here are going fast, seems like every day they get 1/2 inch of growth, I haven’t decided yet what is a priority and what is not appealing.

This is light on 7 am inside the greenhouse

Probably the fastest I have seen a plant recover from breaking and bending. Holly shitake :scratchinghead: she really thrives when the sun hits. So 7 am I break, bend and twist the main stem at the second node and at 2:30 pm it’s upright and holding strong.

That’s the power of Auxins aka plant growth hormone, natural occurring in plants.

:hippy:

Inspection before lights on;

Everything good but one… the one plant I have on the water reservoir test is looking thirsty like she just ran 50k marathon thru Death Valley…
15 days after they went outside and I have regularly watered plant in the grow bag not this one.
Either not enough moisture getting there or the tap root ain’t figuring it out needs to go down. She won’t last 15 more days so I watered from top soil and I will keep an eye, soo much heat the past few days.

For this one I just observe lateral growth, elongated shoots and the swelling of the split. She is just thriving lots of energy here. I gotta figure out what’s up with the other one.

Thats, amazing it healed right up. I have never tried training; you make it look easy..

I would encourage you to try at least LST (low stress training), It helps the plant to capture as much sunlight as possible, better air circulation and by slightly changing their center of gravity they adapt fast and encourage the productions of all the phytohormones I have described before.

Once you get confortable with the LST you decide if you want to do high stress training. When you see your plants react so fast to the training things escalate very fast you might find yourself doing all kinds of crazy training techniques.

Forgot to mention techniques like Main-lining and Quad-lining...

Its fun

I am growing outdoors, sativa Sour Diesel in 15-gallon pots. Will they be too big for LST.

15 gallons holly Keith you ain't kidding around; by mid July you can probably climb on them to get to your roof. LOL

Thats awesome bro, in that case you might want to think about some more permanent restraint, something to hold them from reaching 6-8 ft tall, thats only if you fear about people noticing or something. If there isn’t a fear let them roll, 15 gallons pots and good genetics you are bond to have huge plants.

My plant last year was a monster, and I will have 5 of them if everything goes as planned. All the people I know around here grows them big. If I can break down and buy some more grow pots, I may go down to 10-gallons, but I already have the 15-gallon pots and I am cheap.

It's pretty common in the bottom watering containers to start out with some top watering. The roots will follow the water down with gravity. It's pretty obvious when they figure out the process as the growth seems to go into overdrive almost overnight.
