Thank you kindly.Very nice plants and nice roots.
I was impressed with the pink kush, not so with the SLhaze.

That makes total sense to me because like you said it’s only the strongest survives. CLIt makes sense when you think about it. When we grow indoors plants are mostly well taken care of there is almost NO stress at all not even wind moving the stalks so that’s why when it’s pumped with nuts the buds bend the stem and eventually break.
Outdoors you can’t control the wind (and that’s just one element) so when a big wind happens the stalks and stems harden up big time. Think of it as cartilage, when you break cartilage it will heal and make a bulge. At least that’s the way I see it with my technique.
At the end of the day when you look at totally wild landrace plants they take hits for sure, animals bite them, rain and wind breaks them, sun and drought burns them, mold, rot, mildew all that stuff happens to plants in the wild, with natural selection only the strong survive and pass on the gen.
I came to the conclusion that excessive indoor breeding passes on weakness rather than making genetics more strong. The farther away we are from landrace genetics the weaker and more susceptible plants we have.
That’s my point of view.
Looking healthy n happy and I hope your experiment works. CLTHE UNKNOWN AUTOS
Let’s start with the one in the grow bag, heavy training a couple days a go. Broke the stem and it split like it’s happened before I foliar sprayed Horsetail tea and she is been on a restructuring plan, I’m helping her achieve her horizontal position. Started to see the effects of auxins production and elongated shoots. Things are happening for this pheno and she looks amazing. Nice lush glossy green Color, pointy leaf at sun and enjoying life. Watered using mother tea and did again another foliar with horsetail (non diluted).
I gotta say they loved that foliar feed. Temperatures at night outside of the greenhouse are around the lower tens Celsius (inside steady 15 Celsius)
One can almost see a straight line where all the tips of the shoots meet at the highest point. All receiving equals amounts of sun and life juice. You can also see thru the stem (for now); it’s healing good it’s all gonna make sense later.
Now my next auto is a strong case to make; the real experiment here.
I been reading lots about the moisture gradient and the wicking effect on the SIP models proposed here, seen videos on YouTube… gathered lots of data.
Here is my case;
I been carefully looking at the reservoir and the moisture mark made in the bottom of my soil/plant pot. It’s at almost 2 inches, lots of condensation happening there, the side walls of the pot containing the reservoir also show signs of moisture build up, and condensation with slight precipitation running down the chamber walls.
Here is my point, the bottom of this pot is filled with maple sticks; I did it as part of my layering for the soil in this pot.
Second layer is fermented seaweed and activated charcoal.
Point is that the sticks of wood will be the bridge between the soil/roots and the moisture buildup having hopefully enough humidity to keep the roots (that will definitely outgrow the pot and travel to the chamber in the other pot) wet and safe from too much air pruning.
Another thing to consider as the temperature rises with summer the 3 litre reservoir will create more humidity buildup in the chambre; my hypothesis is that the roots will grow around the reservoir wrapped around it and possibly end up touching the ground coming out thru the second pot bottom holes.
Long journal to document. I want to see the root development I also want to be able to control air pruning of the roots.
This pheno was not watered; she does have a full tank of mother tea she just need to reach it down at the reservoir. It did rain so one way or another she is watered.
These are the Indicas for fun Captain, still waiting for the main show to begin the Sativa lineup, still too young to endure this training. By end of the month should be more interesting stuff around here.Looking healthy n happy and I hope your experiment works. CL
I’m going to be dropping in on you regularly so it’s all good. Any knowledge I can pick up is greatly appreciated. Respect bro. Always love your layers Danish. Keep bringing up pics of your inputs... for my self because we live in the same area with similar natural resources we can turn into ferts, but also for everybody, I think a lot of people could learn from you, and Azimuth (but Azi doesn't post pics).
I can hardly wait until you start breaking arms and taking names, literally. I look back fondly on our old friend, "Xenomorph", I hope you do too, and I hope you do it again! I'm going to experiment doing the same next time (I don't have any seeds/mothers and because I'm living off a fixed income and using the entire thing to try and finally payoff my mortgage while I can still remember my name). It sucks but I'll swing some seeds from someone by barter, I've got lots of nice bud I've grown over last couple years to barter with, and some extras like a trichome microscope, new bags of inputs, etc. so I'm sure I'll come up with something, its just not as instantaneous or straightforward as flashing out your card and ordering online, but I have lots of experience 'horsetrading'.
As for the seeds you generously gifted to me last year, well, I'm sorry to report 100% failtre rate... of the gardener! The ones you saw growing in my thread that I described, were unfortunately lost before flowering could really get going. My heater failed one night and while the large indicas were fine, the still-little Sativas would not survive regardless my efforts. As for the remaining seeds, I did my best to germinate them but they either didn't pop or the seedlings were felled by fungi within their first 14 days of life. Mostly they just didn't pop.
Grateful anyway, I really enjoyed my time with them but was disappointed I wasn't able to help you and look for phenos to keep using. The failures did really help motivate me to better my germination skills/method, so thanks for that. Really, I appreciate it so much.
best to you and yours Danish! (does that nickname bug you?)
Imma do that too, hit Pinnaepple express with a coffee... after that I cant siit anymore. Garden timeOh man, the sativa list you just shared actually made my mouth water. I'm packing up my bong right now, and I hardly ever smoke in the day (don't have much good daytime smoke but I got up at 0100hr this morning so and early nap won't be unwelcome if it comes to that.
Hang, on, gotta take a hoot.... back in a seccy...
Yo Buzz. cCool to catch your drive by then, lucky me. Take it easy, but feel free to hang, you won’t find a more chill thread. Think Dani went out to work in the garden…Hey Dan - I'm following along...I'm an outdoor grower but I don't post much or ask many questions....but I'm watching....but not in a creepy way!!
BuzzD thanks for dropping by. I highly encourage you to ask and or post anything. You can use my thread or please link me to your journal.Hey Dan - I'm following along...I'm an outdoor grower but I don't post much or ask many questions....but I'm watching....but not in a creepy way!!
... Oh yeah, that feels goooood. I've been gardening since 0100hr, but mostly inside. I'm going to go put a pot of coffee on too and go out and keep setting up my outdoor SIPs. I'm swinging for the fences this year - veggies in SIPs - 24 SIPs, all veggies. Not just tomatoes and cukes like last year (in 4 SIPs), no siree. Here's my full outdoor SIP loadout in one (glorious) photo
I'm sick of wondering if the plant's going to survive (do I have a replacement?). I'm sick of wondering whether the plant will produce fruit. Will the entire exercise for that plant be worthless? It just doesn't happen in SIPs. I've only done a few of the questionable plants (to my limited mind) , plants I worry will reject the wetness, but the few I did grew fine. So this year I'm doing the variety in volume thing. I'll keep cycling them all season, growing seedlings in the tents. Ironically, or, ridiculously you might think, I built a huge (very) raised bed, so there's that. I actually think of it as my dirt farm for SIPs now, which is way cool, but it has to look nice, being so big, so I have to plant some things to keep up appearances. I turned my front yard, in suburbia, into a food garden. It's slowly taking shape. Excited to have the SIPs going out in force. I'll post on the main SIPs thread.Wow that's a lot of SIPs.
Are you going to be growing everything on that list? Can you grow those Sativas outdoors before cold weather arrives? I’m going to be following closely for that. Especially love your Ace selection. CL.My man ResD,
I gotta say between you and Azi make my days worth during these journal days. I like to write despite my french mixed with my english I think I manage to put a curated message out-there. A lot of the information passed around by Cannabis gurus is sold as definitive but times have changed and the way plants are grown has changed.
Growing healthy plants is an environmental game, elements to ones success are right there next to the plant itself. I have a tunnel vision because I specialise in outdoors growing so I need the expertise of Indoor growers to align myself. Indoors or outdoors basic principals stay untouched.
Now more and more people talking about and using natural methods to obtain same or better results; I for one like the natural ways to obtain results.
Seed problems? you know there is more where that came from... I dont really care for the return I just want to create a VanIsland seed bank, thats the bigger picture. And lets face it I cant do it alone so I resource to Local talents to help discover new genetics or create them. Before the whole cannabis world was depending on Dutch genetics; now I believe lots of growers are taking their genetics back to them, at least I know I am; seeds are expensive and redundant.
Nothing bugs me really... you know its the internet if something bugs... turn it off. Wait one thing does bug me misinformation. Gets everyone confused. And I never start a debate if I dont have a clue of what they talking about because thats when listening is allowed.
Anyway training session is not there yet but its coming, as you can see I put myself in a advantage position this year nursery/greenhouse and setting up a second structure a poly-tunnel . I wont be running to the bushes this time to pollinate my plants; I am thinking about a guerilla SIP if the time comes I do open pollination.
The invitation is open to all you fellas from the Island you know who you are, if trust builds up we should get to know each other in real time, not the digital avatars of us. I'm pretty keen for a collective to happen, and if it doesn't its ok, seeds will be made and plants will be grown.
