Danish, I’m so damned glad you made it to Canada. While cognizant that it’s almost always better to be ‘home’, nonetheless we’re thrilled to have you.

Agreed on Montreal. When I was 20 I got an apartment that was at St.Laurent and St. Denis (I think), I could hit Schwartz’s deli with a rock (well) thrown out my window. It was blissful. 99 cent all you can eat spaghetti, natchos, w.h.y., every night and 99cent sleeves of proper ales. Live music, great friends… and when I lived in Amsterdam decades later it reminded me of Montreal, of all places. So yep, your description jives with my 3 month experience pretty darn well. Now my daughter has up and moved there after going to NYC for 2 weeks this summer. Doin’ the ‘back east thing’ as we call it ‘round here.

As for war, yeah, no joke. But it’s just so hard to see people suffer at the hands of others, especially young people. I’m still in my 40s but have had a very full life. I used to volunteer pretty heavily in my community(s) as a Search and Rescue tech., and really miss serving. Anyway mate, great to reconnect. Cheers.

The Unknown Autos

All good :Rasta: not much to report, thriving strong. Not outdoors just yet every night they get the hall pass inside the greenhouse. Keeping temperature at least at 15 Celsius all night long.

On the phenotype here I see one mostly indica big broad leaf but stretching out a few inches more than it’s peer;

And the other pheno looks more 50/50 a little brighter green than the other pheno and tighter node structure

I have no clue what they are because the seeds were a result of random pollination while growing autos outdoors… somewhere in France (the location is irrelevant).

Crazy how random pollen can just pollinate your plant; now my friend was growing store bought genetics and they were auto flowering feminized; assuming the pollen around was regular non auto flowering, does that mean the genepool is 1/4 auto feminized 1/4 auto regular 1/4 non auto regular 1/4 non auto feminized ??? Like I have no freaking clue what’s gonna come out of these 2. The one thing is; they are too indica for my liking, I was expecting a little more Sativa in there.

The Pheno Hunt

The seedlings are youngsters now, roots crawling from the bottom of the pot, and showing their first set of true leafs. I love the early stages because they give you hints of what’s gonna happen.

Like the 2 Pink kush phenos they look pretty close, somewhat same development.

And the Personal Sativa f1 X Filipino male. I have 2 looking a like and displaying what seems rust marks the third one is mint no signs of any rust or damage of anything, gets me thinking if by that alone I should chose this pheno over the other 2. Not doing so at the moment but she winning.
Also the first true leaf coming has a gnarly spider shape she is Sativa with dominant roots I love it. This year I am ready for 13-14 week flowering period.

Question on SIP;

How long does it take avg for the roots to reach the water reserve? And how is the watering of soil during the moment the roots have not reached the water res?
As the others have said, the roots don't need to reach the reservoir since the soil mix will stay nicely moist and they'll be able to find their ideal moisture levels.

Like some, I mostly water and feed my Jadam extracts through the reservoir, but occasionally top water with JMS and worm casting microbes.

they are doing pretty good, the little ones are going straight to boot camp; I have been putting them outside for the past 2 days with great sun and they seemed happy, then back to the greenhouse with warmer nights. Its still pretty cold at night and by mid May Its totally risk free. (getting ready for the upcan possibly some time this week)
I think it’s really cool that you bred a Sativa strain that adapted to your environment. CL🍀

Looking good bro and I’m in for the long Sativa season. Happy growing. CL🍀 :thumb:

Today first feeding with my mother tea to both autos. Gave them half gallon of tea direct to soil. So far no foliar feeding or spraying of any kind. In the tea at the moment there is Nettle, seaweed, rainwater, worm castings. In the coming weeks horsetail tea will be ready and I can start the foliar spray.

You have a lot growing. How do you take care of them all,

You have a lot growing. How do you take care of them all,

1 hour in the early morning 7-8 am and 2-3 hours after 6pm. Weekends always.
For now it’s a little more work since I am supplying extra light and I check every time the lights go on and right before they go off.

I like plants and veggies, that helps too.

You are a farmer. A good one at that.
Trying hard to be a legit one too. Thank you kindly.

I had a kinda terrible run last year… I made sure this year I have a solid plan, with no weak links.

I moved to a farm and currently live on site, 420 friendly of course. The 2 owner are medical patients. We agreed on a number of plants and I actually have a lease agreement.

Even agreed on building a greenhouse/nursery and I am working on a second structure a poly tunnel for tomato, pepper, cucumber and cannabis.

Sounds like a good plan.

Training update

Took only a night 8-12 hrs for the apical dominance pulled this plant up like nothing.
When the bending/breaking is done properly and the plant is healthy this is the result to be expected. Takes then a dark period to recover.

just a little closer to the first node.

ouch that last pic hurt, but hopefully fixable. I have broken a stem and fixed it with a little cast but what do you do with a main stem?

It’s done on purpose, I want it broken to promote stem elongation and diminish the apical dominance of the main stem/cola.

Stick around you will see what I mean.

I will do that. I believe you are training your plants,

This is the beginning of the experiment with this pheno. Not the same as the SIP models shared here, it’s ok. This is part of the experiment.
3/4 dwell water (assuming trace minerals)
1/4 mother tea
3 gallons water reservoir

I will not water and check at the end of May the status of the reservoir and if roots or no roots.
On the other hand rain is yet to come so it’s gonna be watered one way or another.

Their final destination; they graduated the greenhouse time to go outdoors.

And the other auto is looking pretty good 24 hrs after the breaking of the main stem;

They are moving fast this one’s almost a month away from the youngster in the greenhouse.
