Azi I got the Comfrey in the soil but needs a couple days to pick up, it’s camera shy right now but soon ready to start giving.
Awesome. Just be sure it's where you want it permanently since, once the tap root gets established, it'll own that piece of land.

All good. Only the 2 suspected Rust but keep rolling I’m letting them go on, no intervention yet.

Pretty happy so far.

I just get that happy frog from fox farms it's seems to be good for seedlings not so much for adult plants. But good for seedlings. . really I just use same stuff just transplant quicker what I do.
I use a 50-50 mix of happy frog n ocean forest and yeah adult plants do use it up pretty quickly. CL🍀

Weekend update;

Checked consistency of teas at the moment all look great, started to strain and pass the liquid in to a bigger conglomerate ( I now have a 1000 lts water container) of teas and rain water which is going to be my mother tea. I have on a mission to brew, strain and fill 1000 ltrs of liquid with the purpose of using all thru the season. The way I am doing is small 20 ltr batch of teas at a time to later pour on the bigger tea.
At the moment seaweed and nettle are being done.

All phenos are taken outside of the greenhouse to harden up, very great weather this weekend. Counting days so the bigger plants can stay outdoors full time and the smaller babies get to expand roots in bigger pots.

Looks like they’re doing good 👍, I hate it when they are little cause they’re so vulnerable to everything. CL🍀

Here is a nice piece on Horsetail;

-accumulation of silica up to 25% dry wt
-beneficial effects of silica on growth and against abiotic and biotic stresses
-beneficial effects like increased pest and pathogen resistance, drought and heavy metal tolerance and the quality and yield of agricultural crops

5lbs bag harvest fresh going in to 20ltrs rain water

they are doing pretty good, the little ones are going straight to boot camp; I have been putting them outside for the past 2 days with great sun and they seemed happy, then back to the greenhouse with warmer nights. Its still pretty cold at night and by mid May Its totally risk free. (getting ready for the upcan possibly some time this week)

This looks like a great experiment. Everything they could possibly want in one mix and given every time you water.

Yeah I figured all in one is helping me not do one at a time. I got 2 more weeds I like the mineral profile and havent done a tea yet;

Yarrow; The plant is rich in magnesium, calcium and phosphate.
Coltsfoot; The leaves contain unusually high levels of sodium, calcium and magnesium.

Question on SIP;

How long does it take avg for the roots to reach the water reserve? And how is the watering of soil during the moment the roots have not reached the water res?
The water wicks up a column of soil/grow medium which extends down into the res.
Don't know how long it takes the roots to get down there.

so you would only put water thru the pvc pipe and direct into the reservoir? you wouldn't water the soil at all?

Thanks Mel

:Namaste:
That's the way I understand it. I made a SIP for this summer.
The only people I've seen watering the soil are using top dressing, like geoflora, and they don't use much.
I believe @LKABudMan and @Emilya Green are the ones doing that.

In a SIP, the roots don't really grow into the res much, or even into the wet 'feet'. They grow mostly down to the air gap and then stop.

The res gives the soil above the air gap a consistent moisture gradient. That allows the plant to grow roots to accommodate that moisture gradient. Then they can eat, drink, and breathe as much as they want. As much as possible, you want that moisture gradient to stay the same, which means watering the res only (through the pipe).

I top-dressed with Geoflora on my first grow. I didn't feel Geoflora kept up in flower. Maybe the nutes weren't getting dissolved well enough. When I did start watering more from the top to try to dissolve them, my res got stanky from the runoff and I had to flush it out.

The next grow I switched to Remo nutrients. With Remo I feed full-strength for about two weeks then let the res go mostly dry. Then fill the res with about 1G plain water and let the res go mostly/completely dry. Then start feeding full-strength for a couple more weeks. I never feed the SIP from the top, and for those two weeks I top off daily. The plants are healthy and happy and building some beautiful buds.

The best thing about watering through the res is that it's EASY. I mix the nutes 5G at a time, and it takes me less than 5 minutes to top off. No waiting for anything to absorb. No worrying about hydrophobic soil, because the soil always stays moist. Now if I could just get rid of these damned fungus gnats...

One of my favourite all-time posts on here. I just love seeing how the sausage gets made. Guess I'm weird that way. Anyway, I am so chuffed to be back in touch, and watching you play your game. You always get your money's worth with Danishoes!

Man, these pics are so stunningly good, I just had another look. I guess I'm a simple man with simple pleasures (totally a lie).

I broke my ribs, again, this year. Actually, that's not true, someone did it for me, the bastards. But anyway the point is, along with my normal challenges, the injury made for a survivor-level experience this winter, especially early on. I couldn't look after myself properly and all my usual helpful and close people are in other countries right now, either fighting in the damned war or doing art school this year, so I hadda man-up and figure it out solo. Even my kid buggered off to Montreal. I figured it out, eventually. I know it sounds crazy but I wish to God I was over there fighting with them, but I'm too handicapped. Yes, even to shoot Orcs (sorry, not sorry).

Can I say something. Dirt is to strong for seedlings. . Burning them up. Making them lock out. Why u see that. Sir. FYI. It's not diff. Reason I can easy explain.. seedling don't require much first 7-9 days after that 12th day they start to grow. Most dirt people use is nothing in it. Seed pods blocks. Etc etc when I use my dirt I use all the time. Some plant can handle it some seedings can't. Most can't. Just little to hot. I transplant mine quick. And it doesn't effect it much. It's really a combo of humidity soil heat and temp that plant just freaks out does that u will see middle leaves curl up best sign
You mean the first true leaves, Seven? That what you notice/look for? It's not easy raising babies, I try to over-plant when I can and high-grade.

What does a 12-day seedling look like, best case? I'm just trying to picture the size of a seedling when it's run out of on-board nutrition.

Thank you Budman :thanks:

I'm taking notes very important information regarding SIP; pretty excited to try and achieve some of the results I've seen so far.

You were missed around here brother, hope the ribs are healing or getting better. Cant even imagine the pain to sleep or walk (for that I would take poppy tincture; hands down guarantee pain killer).

And well what can I say about Ukraine; I will sum it up... I come from a South American country that has been heavily manipulated and destroyed by both sides of the war ALSO... 20+ years with over 6 million of us immigrating and finding refuge in many parts of the world... Yup Venezuela is where I am from and boy was it good until it no longer was. I lost my pride because I didn't fight the tyranny but I regained my freedom by stepping aside the politics and just living.

I dont want to get political man but I've seen stuff and trust me pride aside I chose LIFE. You are better where you are right now and DO NOT please feel victim of not fighting for your country. WAR is never the answer, violence creates more violence.

Your kid in Montreal, she is probably having the time of her life eating poutine and enjoying the liberties of European mindset in north America. Montreal is insanely good if you are proactive about it if not its just a concrete jungle. I learned how to grow plants in Montreal so 4 ever love to the hood.

-------

Talking Cannabis and SIP; I'm totally out of my league with the SIP but my experiment goes something like that 6 gallon layered pot is going to be the SIP. So lets see what goes. Organic + Layer + SIP I dont see where I can fail.

Oh grab a seat I have some genetics to show, pheno hunt with Dutertes Genetics.

One love
