I contacted a lady in Qualicum im getting 2 types of comfrey plants but I will put them in pots. There is no Comfrey where I am at the moment and don’t want it to spread like crazy.
Comfrey is coming.

:passitleft:
If you get a sterile variety it won't spread, but they do take up permanent residence wherefer youbput them due to the unusually log tap root.

That tap root is the secret to the plant's benefits as the long root helps it mine nutrients deeper than most plants have access to. As such, I'm not sure how much of the standard benefits you'll get from growing it in a pot. 🤔

I’m there with you, not powerful if only mining what’s in the pot.

I believe I can find it a home in the soil, where it should be mining. I’m in a goat farm and there was no comfrey in the property, needed to pass it by with the owner before I throw in weed like that. It’s all good stuff for goats, chickens, and us humans, it serves a great purpose to what we doing.

Comfrey will have a home

That sounds like it should work great but just wanted to know if you used it before? CL🍀

I haven’t personally but I’ve seen the results on Bills grows and many others here. It’s mostly a microorganism activator, gets all the good microbes, bacteria and fungi active, feeding and moving.

This time around I want to encourage the proliferation of mycelium in all soil.

It's really a beautiful plant and some gardeners use it as a focal point. Beautiful leaves  and flowers. But the flower can be the issue if you don't get a sterile variety.

I grow the Bocking 14 which is sterile and stays where you put it.

The Unknown Autos
Starting to see two different phenos, taller and slight difference in leaf shape and size.
They doing ok, I wish they go a little faster :partyboy:

2 weeks and they get their final pot and home and possibly start to see the outside of the greenhouse pretty soon, to harden up. Not enough air moving inside the greenhouse to make them tougher, I have to many small vulnerable seedlings sharing the room.

All the others are going at it trying to catch up, growing pretty fast.

And here we officially start the journal;

PSf1 x FM this pheno is my personal cross and one I’m looking forward to seeing blossom and smoke.
But 2 out of 3 are showing a not so good looking mark on them, want to say it’s rust which sucks but I’m gonna hold on and ride it. All 3 phenos are showing new shoots.
Rust sucks it’s right there with PM and mold on my list of most hated and common things that can go wrong.
At this time nothing has been added or done.

The rest of the flock is not showing any signs of rust or anything.

Cal/Mag deficiency already???

Come on girls grow a little more before I can start giving you the vitamins. I’m rushing to start my teas so I can foliar feed and start giving them plants some good juice.

PSf1 X FM cross we can later go thru it again to see the parents and refresh the memory, what to expect.

And these 2 are the Durban Poison X FM looking sharp. Also one I like to see since the Durban pheno last year was a beauty and flower faster than any other Sativa dominant pheno I was doing. The bad was the smoke was not potent, not a Sativa punch but very mellow slight upbeat and mood enhancer, hopefully the cross last year added a new twist. Exciting times

The unknown Autos arrived to their final destination, still sheltered inside the greenhouse. But soon they see the outdoors.

Can I say something. Dirt is to strong for seedlings. . Burning them up. Making them lock out. Why u see that. Sir. FYI. It's not diff. Reason I can easy explain.. seedling don't require much first 7-9 days after that 12th day they start to grow. Most dirt people use is nothing in it. Seed pods blocks. Etc etc when I use my dirt I use all the time. Some plant can handle it some seedings can't. Most can't. Just little to hot. I transplant mine quick. And it doesn't effect it much. It's really a combo of humidity soil heat and temp that plant just freaks out does that u will see middle leaves curl up best sign

Yeah the seedlings here have just potting soil (I found the mix was kinda off, retaining water) and added a spoon of worm castings.
The small ones need more time before

I used the mixed wheelbarrow for the bigger plants. I still leave them inside the greenhouse.

I had a 20 + Celsius day inside the greenhouse. Tomorrow outside temperature is supposed to be somewhere in high teens so maybe they can go outside, I have to wait probably.

Me too I'm to lazy to have another mix for seedlings. Trick or that repot before that 12th day. And plants never even know they were in that dirt. Soon as I see that. Transplant. Plant will heal

A hugelculture pot, very cool! :thumb:

You catch everything my friend. Let’s see the outcome.

And may I add that pot will house the auto that is going to house the SIP. So to put it in a sense I’m mixing everything into one plant.

The roots will reach the wood and go straight to the water res, hopefully it works. The wood should be food for mycelium.

Never been a fan of having to spend big money for seedling potting soil, most of the times the soil is sterile doesn’t have any nutrients and in cases has weed seeds inside and the mix are off either flush all the water out or retain to much water killing the seeds…

Might as well make my own soil.

I just get that happy frog from fox farms it's seems to be good for seedlings not so much for adult plants. But good for seedlings. . really I just use same stuff just transplant quicker what I do.

Beautiful day out here, massive sun and close to 20 Celsius, it was a great day for this two Unknown Autos to hit the road and see outside,
I saw them flapping wings and turning towards the sun, they know what’s good. I water with seaweed tea and Nettle tea it’s about time the start their organic nutrition.

Put them out around 9 am it’s 630 pm time to go back inside… the tropics are waiting

Loving it. It’s just a matter of time.

My “veg” tea is looking good, can’t even smell it here between the compost bin, the goat manure everywhere and the composted soil, finally the stinkers have a safe home. No body is gonna come and throw them out this time.

Azi I got the Comfrey in the soil but needs a couple days to pick up, it’s camera shy right now but soon ready to start giving.
