The trouble with most light systems and the spectrum they produce is that it is exclusively focused on photosynthesis and not the other parameters which contribute to quality. There are many sources of good looking bud that doesn't really smoke well or taste the best because it is missing these other parameters. Supplementing uv-b/uv-a and far reds have multiple applications, however, they need to be done in the proper amounts and the right times of the grow cycles. Far red isn't used for photosynthesis exactly but contributes to how the plant activates and uses the light for photosynthesis. Uv is absolutely a great supplement and is best used at the 'high noon' phase of the plants daily cycle. Use in small doses and build that plants tolerance.
