Ha ha! Yes that was funny as hell I laughed pretty hard. I don't go getting myself into all the ridiculous situations I used to when I was younger. Don't miss it that much but had a lot of laughs.

UncleC I really like that 'sheet of plywood' measurement system a lot. This makes my flowering area a little over 3/4 of a sheet. Along with the veg area it's 1 and 1/4 sheets. So tiny, yet so big sometimes too...

It wasn't always my friends that were the pulling the idiotic pranks. Often times it was young UncleC that was the guilty party.
Sometimes I was just a passenger on the stupid train, other times I was the one doing the driving. :)

I'm having a laugh at myself here Weaselcracker.
When I was first considering trying my hand at indoor gardening I was standing in the empty spare bedroom (12' x 11') where my garden is now located looking at the floor of the room and envisioning sheets of plywood.

Me thinking to myself: "Ok, let's see.....I could fit about a sheet of plywood along each wall and have space between the two to walk, access plants, and whatnot. I should be able to grow about a 1/2 pound of MJ within a footprint the size of a sheet of plywood no problem and this arrangement should also work out well based on the tent sizes that I've seen advertized on the net. This just might work. Damn straight it will work. Why didn't I do this long ago...??
Now where will the AC unit go...??"

Halfway into the first grow as I was staring at the girls I remembered standing in the then empty bedroom that day and thinking to myself how wrong I was about how much yield I would get from that area the size of a sheet of plywood.

So tiny yet so big sometimes too is an understatement. :)

A 4x8 tent is pretty big, but really small when it's full! Seems to go that way for all tents no matter the size. What's that men say to feel better, oh yeah... it's not the size that counts but how you use it! Get your mind out of the gutter... I was talking about tents:thumb:

Mind in the gutter.....who me.....??? LOL!!

One of the many things that I've learned since beginning my indoor gardening adventure is that grow tents are just like garages and storage sheds. There's never enough room.

Did any of you really think that it would really take 3 weeks for UncleC to make a call on this?

UncleCannabis' KISS Used Soil Mix (Flowering/Bloom Mix)

Ingredients -
- Used Soil Mix from Previous Grow (Flushed after grow then allowed to dry out before reuse.) - Approximately 10.5 Gallons
- Earth Worm Castings (Vermicast) - Approximately 3 Gallons
- Pumice Stone - 6 Cups
- Rice Hulls - Approximately 1 cu/ft
- Course Cut Coco Coir - Approximately 1 cu/ft
- Medium/Fine Cut Coco Coir - Approximately 1 cu/ft
- Bone Meal - 3 Cups
- Indonesian Bat Guano - 3 Cups
- Cow Manure - 8 Cups
- Dolomite Lime - 2 Cups
- Epsom Salt - 1/2 Cup
- Used Coffee Grounds - 2 Cups
- Egg Shells - Approximately 6 egg shells

Simmering / Cooking
Once finished mixing it would be best to place the container with the cover on outside in an area that gets lots of sun light.
Leave for minimum of 2 weeks before using.
Turn with shovel a couple of times per week.
Keep moist / slightly wet but not saturated.

Note - There's a list a mile long of other ingredients that can be added. This is a KISS recipe that is based on the ingredients that I had available on my wall of goodies.

**I do not suggest that others use this mix until my experimental grow with my Girl Scout Cookies mother is complete and results are known.**

A bit of recent history:
I've really been needing to man up and cull the herd over in my veg tent by getting rid of old mothers and clones that I don't intend to use.

As I've been trying to decide who stays and who goes I've been on the fence about my GSC mother.
I was thinking of flower her out but she's gotten to be so big I wasn't sure that I was up for the challenge or if there was space available for her to do her thing.

Over the weekend she almost got chopped up and tossed in the compost bin (pruning shears were actually placed on her trunk) but at the last minute I hesitated and went and put her back in her corner of the tent.
Big decision....let's wait and give this some thought...

Well, I've since sampled some of the last GSC harvest after a 2 week cure and there is nothing else to think about.
She's going in the Grove.

Hey Unc. Always enjoy soil mixing....my Indonesian BG is usually high phosphorous so wondering if yours is also. Asking as I see you adding to initial mix? Guess you use it as a primary P source? Love that "Wall of Goodies"....like your own grow store! Unless your going to do a lot of clones off Cookie Monster, you could greatly reduce her size....just my 2 cents. Excellent update!:Namaste:

Hey there brightlight,
Good of you to stop by.
You are correct, all Indo bat guano is very high in phosphorus. I actually prefer bone meal as a primary P source due to it's slow release properties, not to mention the calcium and other micro nutrients that are included.
Bat guano's typically provide a much quicker release of P than bone meal which make guano's very useful as topdressings for quick P boost during flower.
Because of the faster nutrient release and availability rates of guano's the phosphorus that is added when applied will tend to dissipate quicker than when using bone meal and some other P sources so you won't end up with loads of residual P in the soil come harvest time.

My reason for using Indo bat guano in this mix is as follows:
1. Immediate phosphorus availability to help to establish healthy roots after transplant.
2. Indo bat guano has very good nematicidal and fungicidal properties when added to soil.
3. This mix is being used to transplant up and immediately transition from veg to bloom. The Indo guano will be immediately available for root growth and will provide adequate amounts of P for the first few weeks of bloom until the slow release P from the bone meal takes over.

I may top dress with additional Indo bat guano around week 4 of flower if it appears that a phosphorus boost is needed during flower.

I hope that this helps to explain my reasoning behind the use of Indonesian guano.

I already have lots of cuttings off of her which are already rooted. Her legacy may be around for a while longer.
I did give some thought to cutting her back before flowering her out as this is would have been the smart thing to do. Instead, I've decided that I'd take a little stroll on the wild side just to see what will happen.

I'm not sure why but "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed has been playing over and over in my head ever since pulling this little stunt. LOL!

There are so many awesome journals here at 420, not to mention the great folks behind those journals, that making journal visits has become almost as addictive as growing. :)

SweetSue does give her babies lots of lovin' that's for sure.
If any of my girls had the faintest idea of the luxury life that is on offer in the gardens of others such as Sue's they'd grow legs and run away heading straight on over to Sue's place.
Over at Sue's they'd be getting massages and their tops made up into little ponytails and whatnot.
Unfortunately, life in the Ganja Grove is more like being confined inside of a Mexican prison than a spa and massage center.

This is one reason that I never surf 420mag on my iPad when inside my grow room.
If my girls get a peak at some of the other gardens here at 420mag they'll realize just how tough that they've got it compared to the girls on the other side of the tracks. LOL!

LOL I agree, my girls don't get much better LOL there is one poor girl in the garden in a 15 gal grow bag sitting on top of the ground that the wind blows over 2-3 times a week LOL I just stand her back up, give her some water if she's dry and wait until the next time LOL

LOL I live near tidal waters and with the way tides roll in here on the bay (0 to 40 feet of water in a matter of a few hours) we get a lot of wind. Its good for the girls, they learn to grow strong to withstand the wind or they won't survive in my gardens LOL If they are gonna be Celtic girls, they best be tough LOL

I keep threatening to stake her to the ground but something else always comes up and I forget LOL

Lucky this is the case otherwise it appears that you and I would both have empty jars laying around with nothing to fill them with. LOL!

The 2 parcels were mailed out 1 week apart but both of them arrived the same day. Go figure.
The first shipment arrived 6 days after it was sent. I was expecting a similar delivery duration with the second parcel but after waiting for 13 days I thought that it must have gotten intercepted. Needless to say I was a very happy camper when both parcels arrived today. Very happy indeed!!
