We have a British military base near here and two of my daughters worked there in the past. They always talked about the Brits eating their toast with something called Marmite spread on it. They brought me some home to try. Lord fuckin Jesus, I had to fight with the dog and hold him down just so I could lick his ass to get the taste out of my mouth.

That's seriously the best description of Marmite in the history of that vile paste. I used to brew for a craft brewery and always wondered what the hell would persuade anyone to eat the leftover swill at the bottom of the fermenting vats.

I'm planning to use iso for oil extraction if I actually get to harvest. I've done edibles with my kieff so want to try something new. Never had oil, hash, wax, whatever the hell else you wanna name so obviously have no idea what to expect. Got me one of those vape pens to try it out even, I feel so fucking hip it's groovy as lol

Reason I'm using iso is coz us Aussie yobos don't stock that everclear stuff. I won't be ingesting it so I don't need to decarboxylate, correct? I think I read that somewhere. I'm very nervous about it, I think because the labels on the iso bottles don't look very friendly...

I'll be sure to peruse the archives for all the info I can get before hand so I don't kill myself one way or another, but can anyone reassure me that this iso is ok to use?

It has a flash point of 11.7 °C so it will flash off naturally given time or could be forced off with additional heat at its boiling point of 82.6 °C. And as it is very closely related to n-butane it will dissolve the cannabinoids readily. You might be on to something.

Yeah I was planning to just let it sit in the sun so I wasn't using too much heat. Glad I have an "Encyclopedia Ridernica" handy. Thats the encouragement I needed. What's an Encyclopedia you ask children? Ironically Google it haha

Used to make it like that when I was much younger. Best way we did it was to take a slow cooker and put about an inch or so of water into it and bring the temp up to about 90^oC. Strain your solution through a coffee filter into a glass container and set it into the slow cooker. No open flame and it boils off nicely in a few hours. A razor blade will make life easy to scrape the oil out of the glass container and the glass will scrape right clean so you waste nothing.

Actually I think we used cooking oil in the slow cooker instead of water. It held the heat better and wasn't anywhere near its own boiling point.

Dawg, are you talking about a double boiler? A pan inside a pan with one medium, the oil in your case, heating the iso-cannabinoid solution? That sounds like a winner since the temp could be adjusted precisely. It also sounds like something to do outside since isopropyl alcohol vapors are heavier than air and could pool in flammable concentrations.

A double boiler is ideal if you can find an electric one. We flamed up a couple of batches on the stove with a double boiler and went to the slow cooker to stay away from a source of ignition. One of those induction type hot plates and a double boiler might be the best but they didn't have any induction heat in the day.
