Saw this on eBay. 32L is about 8 1/2 gal. Would be too tall for my widget but in winter it might be a good project to try out hps. Chamber should be big enough for one plants gigantic rootball. Any thoughts?

That is one giant rootball you would have to have a large light or grow outside with a long veg. Also is hps high pressure system aeroponics or high pressure sodium lamp?

But I have wanted to do the same thing with a 20gal brute trash can and high pressure aeroponic growing outdoors. It would need alot of planning and vertical training, I think a south facing wall with mylar and some scrog material would be the perfect way to do it. I plan on trying this out when I own my own place soon but no outdoor while renting, even in legal Cali with a prop 215 rec.

Love the system and the Co2. Think you may have gone a little overboard on the Co2 myself but love how into it you are with cooking your own stuff. Spacebucket fridge ftw

Also I'm into worm farming! Havent started it yet and it takes a long time to get it dialed in but once you get some worms they should be very easy to multiply and "farm". I'm not sure if its frowned upon here but I must link this article on the worm farming matter. I haven't done too much research into compost teas, but what research I have done says cow manure (and any other composted organics) cooked in 55 gal drums with water for weeks or months is the best way to do it. I think those olds buds would need to have more organic matter feeding on it to compost well. Nastier organic matter is the good stuff, gotta be literally bat shit crazy.

Everyone keeps telling me my 21L bucket is too small and your saying an extra 12L is too big? Haha I can't please anyone. The thought was to either grow outside in winter or in a large machinery shed, depending on temps still.

In regards to the co2, I'm still early in experimenting with it. I hadn't ran 2 batches together yet and wanted to see how long they would sustain max output. I know it isn't needed but it cost me like $5 to run. Gave me good feedback for when I really need to utilise it.

I'm even doing some basil and coriander in a little aero bucket outside for shits and gigs coz I like to keep experimenting when I get bored.

I was literally just going to make a batch with molasses, the compost once it's ready and some worm castings. I don't want to go too crazy with bat guano and all that other interesting stuff people chuck in. I like trying new things but I also like to KISS if you know what I mean. Gave my compost a stir the other day and saw a couple worms still present, so hopefully they don't mind it in there too much.

Haha, you had me cracking up. Hope your girl puts out some roots for ya. I snapped a top off one of my plants accidentally a couple of weeks back, rammed it in some Coco with no rooting hormone or humidity dome thinking ahh what the hell, and it rooted! So its currently basking in 12/12 HPS glory with my 4 plants in flower. Fuck only knows what will happen to it...

I literally just read that when I scoped your grow, ya bastard! I think I should have put mine in some kind of medium straight up but I decided I'd try using my aero sprayer to just keep the stem wet. Shoulda seen your thread 3 weeks ago haha

Was the snapped branch in flower at the time? And if so are you just keeping it in flower?

hahaha, thanks for stopping by my journal! Yeah it was in flower, it's putting out Pistils right now. Not exactly sure what to do with it to be honest, don't have another grow room for it. So im probably just gonna keep it alive with the 12/12 girls until they finish, who knows, it might give me a popcorn bud :thumb:

Yeah dude you could end up with bigger yield then you would have from that budsite. I wouldn't suggest trying what I'm doing, I've read it's low chance of working, probs not worth it. Your others look like they recovered well

Id really like to learn about your Co2 generator and the positives you've seen with high Co2 levels. Always heard it was good to have one (especially young plants) but saw it as an end of the line kind of investment item.
And I think for your situation 5 gal would be perfect for starting out flowering in HPA. Anything bigger than that and you are aiming to grow a tree. Your size of growing looks like your looking for more of a bush size plant. Outside would be great because you can grow trees with just sunlight, but inside you need lots of light wattage to grow bigger plants with bigger yields.
Molasses is the perfect base for that compost tea and should shows some microbial activity for your plants. How long are you "cooking" it if at all?

I want a fridge or extra AC unit so I can rig all the tubing for a water cooler! Wish walk in fridges were less than $100 lol would love a big scale grow in a fridge. Love the concept.

I'm still a noob and haven't gone to harvest yet (mainly because of a couple male setbacks..) but the whole reason for me bothering with co2 is because I am growing in a sealed fridge. If I didn't have it there's no way the plants would survive. If you look at my previous post making my co2 batches, you can see it really isn't costly at all. I mean we waste money on all the chemicals under the sun to increase yield so for something so easy to do that has proven benefits and is really cheap, I can only see positives.

I will use the same kind of bucket my plans in for my tea and "brew" it with a spare fountain pump I've got. I'm guessing about 2 days from what I've read. Will probably have to manually stir it also to keep things moving. First time trying so I'll play it by ear.

Feel free to hang around and share your input. If I can make hpa cheaply I might try it in my current bucket, if you think it should be fine. Would prefer to stay in the widget. I love that there's no chance of pests and is perfectly controlled.

Compost users help please.

I have a bin that's been going since about October/November. I've only added a few loads of grass clippings and all the kitchen scraps. It's become quite a pungeont, thick mixture.

Question is, would it be ready to use in a compost tea? I'm planning to use them this run, as long as plant is doing well. I've never used compost in my life so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

Just thought I'd reply to my posts as no one else does. I researched further and if someone else would like to know, my compost needs to be a dark crumbly matter to be ready, and shouldn't smell like dogs arse (dogs arse is actually a compliment) should be an "earthy" smell, whatever that means. I guess opposed to "alien diarrhea."

Day 22

Forgot to put what day I was up to, just trying to keep track. I did a res change finally. Cleaned out the bucket, pulled apart my pump and gave it a scrub too. Didn't bother with nutes at all this time, just Z7 and drip clean. Phed to 5.5

My pH pen is only maybe 2 months old if that, and I thought maybe I should take it home and check its calibration anyway. Fucking glad I did! Was + .9 so the fresh res I made up today is actually 6.4! Yeesh! And because the widgets not at the homestead, and I've already toked up today, I can't fix it until tomorrow morning

Wonder how long it's been out? The whole time? Prick of a thing

Haha I might be the only Aussie bloke that never got into Mad Max. Didn't even see it until I was an adult. Maybe that's why.. love the quote though. Feel free to chuck us some wisdom from your grow experience dude, you may be new but you've been doing a shit hot job so far, alot better then my dying monster cropped clone lol and my many ungermed ancient bag seeds.

Day 23

Sometimes I just want to headbutt a wall. I've had continuing issues with the 420 app in regards to adding pictures so I've been posting via chrome on my phone which takes a million years. And then it hits me. Problem started after an app update. I check my settings and the picture editor button is checked. As soon as I uncheck it, hallelujah!

Why the fuck didn't I think to check settings earlier? I hate myself sometimes..

So I'll share a picture from my phone today! The wife bought some basil and coriander the other day and they looked a bit limp so I said "don't worry love, I've got this!"
And here's the result. At least I can tell the po po I am an avid herb farmer when they come a knockin....
