Tnoldons Indoor Lemon Skunk Grow (Poor Man's Grow)

i was just gunna ask when u were going to LST the rocklock upload pics when you do it im still new to the whole LST thing

Yeah not sure if I will get to it today or not, but hopefully this week sometime and I will post pictures. I'm no expert at it, I learned from people on here like SmokeyMacPots and others. But I'll seaplane step by step what to do as soon as I do it :blunt:

Haha oh man coating back from when I first started posting I find the exact age of the older lemma skunk...prepare yourself! she is 54 days old!!!! well congrats to me for making my first bonsai pot plant lol. Oh well she is doing well and I'm happy to have her around!

Ok so with no job now and not much to do I was pretty bored today. Anyway I decided to go ahead with the LSTing of the RockLock, it turned out good and hope it works.

I also LSTed the lemon skunk again in a new place hopping this keeps making her bush out and all. And while being bored I re arranged my grow room, moved the lights around and got all of the wires off the ground.

Question!!! Since I did the LST I noticed how much pressure its putting on the branches it sits against. Can this cause a problem? Wondering if its the reason my 2 lower branches on the lemon skunk have died off?

AWESOME!! I was gona suggest tying up the older lemon skunk some more. You did a perfect job. Just keep walking her around the rim of that pot. As far as pressure on the branches, I haven't had a problem yet. Wait til the branches grow a bit, then you may be able to maneuver them away from the ties.

Keep it up bro! You are gona have some sweet bushes soon!

Thanks bro!! Yeah it was a little harder this time because her nodes were close together, but she is very bushy right now all her in between branches have grown and split into 3 or 4 sections!! But her yellowing is getting worse :( and I've tried all I know to do and it's not working I'm feeding 1/2 strength nutes of big bloom every 3 days right now to help but indont think it's working. Any suggestions?

Also the rocklick is doing awesome the LST went well. It also has fallen to the yellowing and since she has never had nutes I gave her 1/4 strength and hope it helps a good bit. I think the LST won't work as well because there is now a light next to her so there is no reason for her to stretch back up towards the light. So should I move the light?

Ok so first off I will be updating less, I will post pictures once a week or so, this way you'll be able to notice the growth easier then if I posted pictures everyday.

Anyway everything is going well. The lemon skunk is so bush I can see in-between the nodes anymore its just to think and there are multiple tops on her I think around 4 at the moment. As soon as one of her branches gets big enough I will FIM it along with all the other branches and hopefully she will become a monster. Also her stem has gotten very thick which is great : )

As far as the RockLock goes...She is massive! getting bigger everyday. She also has gotten a lot more bushier and I have just FIM'd her this morning and hoping for some great results.

They yellowing has stopped for now on both plants but I'm still keeping and eye out for anything suspicious. Ok so as far as the younger lemon skunk...she is doing poorly her second set of leaves has shriveled up and are burn to a crisp....I'm not to worried about it nor do I care if she makes it at this point she is taking up top much space. I will attempt a hydro grow for my second grow when I have more knowledge. I'll keep taking care of her until she is dead or turns around and surprises me. And for the AK-48 she is a slow grower but doing great :ganjamon:

here are some pics!!!

Looks like you are doing everything right man. That older lemon skunk and rocklock look fantastic! Also props on the AK-48. You're thumb has definitely got some green in it now! :tokin:

And as far as your decision on the lemon skunk seedling, I think it's a good plan. Hydro is a whole different ball game. If you put as much into that on your next grow as you did with this soil, I'm sure you will be able to nail that too!

Good luck man! :ganjamon:

Thanks smokey!!! Yeah I feel like I am really getting the hang of things as far as soil that is. I kinda jumped the gun going to hydro with really no knowledge. But now that I have the stuff I need for hydro it's less I have to buy for my next all hydro grow :) I didn't want to let the seedling lemon skunk die but she is t going anywhere has t grown much and I need that extra light and room for my healthy AK-48, it's tome to weed out the weak! Lol do you think I FIM'd the rocklock to early? It was on it's 6th set of leaves

Nah man I think she'll be fine. Looks really vigorous, so she will probably take anything you throw at her.

Within reason. :ganjamon:

Haha yeah i guess your right! and i agree she is a beast bro! maybe she is a normal plant but since it was my first grow and I've never seen them grow that big or fast she is a monster to me haha

2 questions!

1st: When can I start taking clones? and how big do the branches I take have to be to survive?

2nd: When can I start flowering? the lemon skunk is almost 2 months old and the rocklock is 21 days old. And would it matter if I also keep the couple day old AK-48 in with them since there is no where else to move her?

Go AK-48! You can flower them all now, they veg their first 30 days anyhow although I think they'll veg better with more than 12 hrs light per day.

For clones you have to wait until there are branches with nodes on them. If you just take a branch with leaves at the end it most likely won't work. Check out the cloning sub-forum, lots of good info there.

Good luck!

Ok great I will start the flowering today! ok so one more question. Is there anything I need to know about the 12/12 light schedule? like is it ok for a crack of light to get in the room or does it really have to be pitch black? And how will my plants react to the new schedule? will they double their size or start chaining somehow?

This is a discussion that has been argued forever. Some people swear any amount of light will ruin everything! But from what I have read, I don't think this is the case. A crack of light isn't going to affect anything. Think about it, if a little light caused flowering to go awry then how do outdoor plants survive on nights where the moon is bright? They seem to be just fine. I think as long as the amount of light isn't excessive, you should be fine.

I agree Smokey. How about farms that are weeded at night with a tractor with headlights? Around here lots of cornfields are illuminated at night by passing cars, etc. Flowers on porches that are lit by a porch light every night. They all seem to do fine. But our plants can't take any light during lights out without disaster?

There's so much myth around our plants, which I'm sure is the product of being underground.

Someone probably got some hermies shortly after exposing their grow to light during a dark period and made the correlation, which is now passed down as 'fact'. It makes no sense to me.

Still I do try and keep them as dark as possible, although I enter the room every night briefly to turn on the heater, with some indirect light so I don't kick over another cfl. :ganjamon:

Ok need a little bit of advice. I got ride of the hydro grow all together it just isn't time for hydro right now. But as I was moving my plants into there new position I noticed a long root coming from the lemon skunks pot. I just re planted her in a 2.5 gallon bucket! is this a problem and what should I do?

Don't even worry about it man. 2.5 gal is plenty for that plant, especially if you are going to flower soon. Any roots sticking out are no big deal, I wouldn't go crazy over it.

Good deal! yeah I'm glad this isn't a worry kind of situation lol, I just re did all the LST's on the plants using good ol hemp :) its much stronger and a lot thiner so its easier to work with. the lemon skunk has 4 ties on her now she was big enough to tie down again so i figured why not? Also I did a much better LST job on the rocklock so she should really start getting bushy soon.

Alright I'm pretty excited! I just set the light timer to 12/12 and it'l all begin in 40 minutes! So will my plants really double in size? they're big now but not that big.

def lookin forwards to see these plants flower

So am I bro!! I've made it this far already and I'm hoping I can make it to harvest!!

Ok so another question since I have a million of them! Can I take a clone from my plant while it is flowering? Some of the branches are pretty big but I don't think they are big enough yet to take clones from

That baby is too small to clone, IMO. A healthy cutting is one that has at least one node, 2 is better. You can take cuttings as small as 3", but they are harder to root the smaller you go. And you can cut clones in flowering, but you need to remember that the clones keep the age of the mother plant. So the later you take clones can increase your chances of self pollenation.

And also, yes she will at least double in size during flowering. :thumb:
