Thirvnrob's Power Plant - TLO Soil In SIP Containers

They're all bushy, but one is off the chain. I broke a main stem early on, and she exploded with new growth - she's the one showing what look to be drops of water on some of the leaves. I think I'm gonna start breaking stems more often. They always seem to overcompensate after being traumatized. I fell face first into one of my tents & broke both main stems on a Durban poison. That plant yielded 14 zips & I was flying by the seat of my pants at the time. That was & still is my biggest yield from one plant...
Gotta make a correction. 14 zips came out of that tent with another Durban poison - 8 from the traumatized one.

When you supercrop a branch, every lower node on that branch becomes a top, so that would definitely explain the bushiness!

If you check out the pics in the opening post here you can see how that happens:
I believe that might have been the first post I read about supercropping. Great tutorial! Even better to re-visit. It's like gathering scraps of information I left behind the first time I read it. Thanks for sharing that!

Here's another topic often debated in this forum. Whether to defoliate, if so when & if not, why not? I remember reading something about that, but I don't remember any of it. If memory serves me @Bill284 is not a fan of defoliation. Correct me if I'm wrong. @Emilya Green Has a link to a tutorial wherein she discusses how & why she defoilates. Knowing that these two can participate in civil debate, I've elected to put them both on the spot. Let's get it on!!!
All comments are welcome...
Necessity in my garden. Simple rule....day 21 and 49. Strain dependent of course. I usually defoliate throughout flower, then give them a good strip in the days mentioned. Takes a minute to get used to, but totally worth it. The pic is from a few years back. I coulda went harder, but it gets to be a pain to get in there. Definitely helps with the yield. Dont mean to post my garden pics on your journal. Not tryin to highjack, just trying to give an example.

Your garden pics are welcome here! Days 21 & 49 after flip or above ground?
That's why I had to get out of tents -PITA to get to them. I love the setup I have now, with easy access to everything
(for now at least).

Yeah, basically when theyre done with stretch, and ripening up the last few weeks. I believe its called mangotech. Lol at keast thats what I learned it as. Its hard to start if youre used to leaving alot, or just lollipopping. They look so naked at first, but usually you can tell the next day theyre happy A F.

Yeah I kept the last grow really skinny. Well my wife did, she’s a bit like that hairdresser you sometimes get that when you say “just a trim” does just that and it looks perfect and then pauses before the demon barber’s hands take over and the floor is covered with trim 😅 Got great yield though.

I did another “light” defoliation today. What a pile of leaves & they’re still bushy…

I put the light screen back up to reflect some light back to the middle. I can already tell that with these SIPs two plants per grow will more than accommodate my needs…

looking good.

Yeah, I wouldn't stand in the way when she has trimmers in her hands. She seems pretty serious about her efforts.
In her defence that is 18 plants worth. We did the same last time and just focused on 5-6 big colas on each plant with some occasional personalised cable training.

I think the lower fan leaves two choices:

Bulk up for power, even canopy via SCROG say

versus,

Even canopy through harder training, kill those lower fans for focus on the main events upstairs, lollypop then ruthlessly prune.

Its still just preference for me in a less than 20 plant grow say. On a bigger greenhouse style grow - 100 plants I might think differently due to the time it takes to think about them individually. I did well with just two plants this style but its def the less popular style. Doesn’t look as pretty either. Mine are recovering but still ugly 😅

Go on @Thirvnrob try both styles and test! Your one in the middle a bit behind strip it down. 😂

Today is day 6 after flip. They've been emptying their reservoirs in almost exactly 24 hours, but did it in a little less than 20 hours today. They're bushy & appear to be healthy and are stretching. Some of the dominant colas are beginning to show off but overall, they appear to be gaining girth more so than height. I've been using SNS203 every other day & so far no new critters that I'm aware of & I'm quite diligent in inspecting every day. One infestation is enough. The cool weather we've had here lately has helped keep insect life at bay, but they're coming.
Although the weather has been cool the RH has been exceptionally high even for here. With an A/C unit & a dehumidifier running 24/7 it was at 77% tonight when I sprayed them down.
