Thirvnrob's Power Plant - TLO Soil In SIP Containers

Basically it's just a big ass pot, generally felt, or some other breathable material. For instance, in a 4x4 tent, you run like a 100 gallon pot' "bed" and plant all your

ladies in that. I used a 25gallon for a 2x2. Build a soil sells them. Some have pvc frames. If you look below the plants, its one big ass pot that fills the entire tent. This is a 2x3.
Interesting. This might be a dumb question, but is that an SIP container?

Man, I’d love to skip all that shit. I assume you use specific watering techniques?
On the other hand, there is something therapeutic for me, at least, about, nurturing the babies, and building a root system. Up potting is a pain in the ass, but there is some therapeutic value for me…

To expound on what I said earlier about watering & up potting what you said about mother nature never up potting makes sense, but at the same time, we have the ability to optimize their growth by optimizing their environment. We're in charge of their ecosystem. I'd be willing to bet you could fill that pot & tent to the same extent with one plant. All of the steps I take are based on what I learn from growers who do it that way & produce massive yields. And I'm not discounting your method at all. I'm retired & I need something to occupy my time, so I'm gonna keep up potting to maintain my sanity. I am going into town to the local feed & seed to score some clover. I've wanted to try it for a good while now.
Your toes are almost as ugly as mine...

Ive done from one to 12 in that tent. Makes no difference in yield really. Its all about canopy space. I could flip much quicker with more smaller sized plants.

Any suggestions about how long I should let these veg? If I flip now I’m 100% certain I have enough vertical space. My concern is that they’ve only been in these containers for 2 weeks tomorrow so I’m not sure the roots have had the time they need. They’ve stopped clawing & started praying so I’m expecting explosive growth & I think the explosion has begun…

I flipped the lights tonight, which brings to mind a discussion/debate about how to count flowering days. For instance, the supplier I got these seeds from claims 8 weeks to flower. 56 days if my arithmetic is correct. Is that 56 days from today or 56 days after transition? Some of us count it one way, some of us, count it the other. I have no expectation about changing anyone’s mind about the way they count their flowering days. I just want to gather some data for myself. Personally, I don’t count transition as flowering - they’re not going to start throwing out pistils tomorrow. I agree with @Emilya Green that flipping the lights merely signals the plant that it’s time to start that process - to transition. I count the first day I see pistils as day one of flower. I love that technicality. Of course, at the end of the day, it’s the trichomes that tell us when they’re ready. What’s your take?

Thanks Shed. Seems like everything's in the sweet spot, so why not? Thanks for keeping up. I feel like I'm on the right track, but if you see that I'm about to get run over by the train feel free to chime in...

I count from the fay I flip, but, I dont even look at trichs any more. I look at the overall plant. Usually 9 weeks is a good standard for most strains any way. Id say kinda a benchmark. Out of the dozen or so strains ive run, only a couple were "done" at 8 weeks. But ive cut plants at 7 weeks, they still smoke decent.
