Thirvnrob's Power Plant - TLO Soil In SIP Containers

She’s a sweetie for sure and I’m just a little bit jealous. Here’s a picture of my Layla. lol CL🍀

Wow, I see why she reminds you of her!

I ask that no one asks how I got to the screen that led me to solve my uploading problem. I don't know, & I'll never remember how I did it but I discovered that the photos I tried to upload were attached to corrupt files. Instead of explaining how I think that happened, let's move ahead since I can't explain it.
Let me preface this by reiterating that I'm fairly new to organic growing. The yellowing and spotting of the large fans has accelerated. I've given them Cal/Mag but should I have started supplementing around the 15 day mark of flowering? Is there a top dressing I should've used? OR am I right about them finishing up & they're dropping their leaves accordingly?

And here's the one I think will finish first & the one I think will finish last.

What frustrates me most about not being able to upload the pics from a few nights ago is that I captured some good trich pics which is rare for me, but now I'm more determined...

The Sour Diesel are misbehaving as well. They're in the same soil & have been under the same light since they popped. The tall one is the one that started out with one coty & one true leaf. The shorter one is two full days ahead. I wonder why the node spacing is so different? They look like two different strains...

Hey Thirvnrob,

thanks for the tag, got room in the back?? You have a killer workspace and renewed cleaning efforts… yes please help a brother out and let that be contagious for me!

Your 3 bears have meaty plant stalks and are well trained- you are slaying it over here!!! Plus the Revs TLO soil and Down to Earth products you’ve got my interest for sure!!

I’m just on page 3 but wanted to throw a marker down.…

edit to add… just finished up and you have an impressive garden. As a basement grower myself I will say there’s a lot of moisture (water vapor) coming up from a basement slab...

Thanks! Always room for one more!
I haven’t had any moisture coming from the slab - it’s been there a long long time. I know what you’re talking about though. I’ve seen concrete floors “sweat” but this one stays nice & dry. It’s the moisture in the air that keeps me on my toes…

Do you do that as a proactive measure or when symptoms of deficiencies appear? My point being only one of the sisters has this problem. The other two appear to be perfectly healthy & happy so I'm leaving them alone for now. No need to fix what isn't broken...
I saw a spot so I thought calcium def and added. I'm with you if it ain't broke!

Maybe, however this late in the grow I find it perfectly normal for lower leaves to do just that. You have to remember you're running LOS in less than 5 gallons of soil. That's really cutting it close in my book. I agree you should think of a plan to dress or feed somehow earlier next grow. Emilya is using Geoflora on top. That would keep you LOS and simple, or you could learn to use the elements. I use Geoflora outdoors for the whole grow.

Do you have a mag def on this one?

Quite possible. I've always flown by the seat of my pants with seedlings. They're in FFOF with no amendments thus far. The pots they're in are bottom watering- I hope they're close to sip...

cool, cool,

what I meant was- it’s always present in the form of invisible water vapor rising from the earth thru the concrete.… if you do see water then you’ve got serious problems but even in perfectly dry basements there’s crap tons of unseen water vapor rising up from direct contact with grade (earth). A sheet of 8 mil plastic as vapor barrier doesn’t hold up between layers of rock, tons of concrete and undermined by constant moisture. The only real workaround is rather expensive like Goodyear rubber roofing professionally installed under slab and typically it’s only used in super high end / custom applications

it why we ventilate attics… without roof ventilation the water vapor rising from a slab will cling in the attic enough to cause serious black mold.

but yes you get my drift and we can manage it with dehum & venting air etc!

Ditto StoneOtter… I’m bumping my SIPs in flower with Geoflora Bloom organic dry mix, fishy ferts, or mag watered in on top and just plain water in res

Here’s a better look. Does it look mg deficient? If so, I assume cal/mag is the solution? I topped her this morning & took the lower nodes so most of the yellowing leaves are gone…

I was looking back at my first posts on here & you were one of the first people I interacted with. I was trying to get someone to approve a harvest based on pics I took with my phone. I'm laughing at myself now with an appreciation for what I've learned here since then. But everyone was patient with me, never waivered with the answers to my questions (meaning no one just told me what I wanted to hear) & I learned to shut up & listen up. That's when my education as a grower began...

Seeing both spots and light green interveinal parts I'd say yes. Now we have to decide how much. I chose to give the directed amount for a 10+ gallon cloth pot grown plant which is 2 ml/gal water for mine. Now a cloth pot would take so much water at this growth time so I make that amount of water up and feed it over time into the rez. 2 or 3 days is the time now to get the right amount. It mat be ok to dump it all in at once but I like to keep ppm lowish, 100 or less so far. This is all a test remember.

I have had so many times a pack of 5 seeds.
Only to watch them grow and see one more sativa dom.
And the other more indica you might well have the same.

Also agree on the calmag they could do with greening up. ;)

The directions on the bottle call for 1Tsp (5ml) per gallon of water & that’s how I’ve always mixed it. I think I foresee a learning experience…

Sorry for the radio silence - I've been up to my elbows in alligators for the last week.

I was able to get some decent trich pics from the one I thought was finishing early. She isn't. This is day 59 from flip, day 46 from first pistils.

The Sour Diesel have me perplexed - different as night & day. Makes me wonder about a lot of things, including the supplier.
I've been giving them calmag & the new growth is looking better. Besides the obvious difference in height & node spacing, notice the purple stems on the one on the left. If you look closely, you can see roots in their little reservoirs. I've got to get them into their final containers tomorrow...

The Solo version helps establish the roots early on that they'll use in the larger containers, making the transition quicker when you up-pot.
Hey just catching up - but yeah what Azi says. Our younger grow we have going was basically near enough same as what he describes when in solos. They’re not in SIPs just pure coco but when we up potted from the Solos they went boom straightaway.
