Hey MrS. Do you use a light meter with your led lights? Thinking I need one because I found some light burn while trimming
I use a $35 US Dr Meter LX1330B lux meter, because PAR/PPFD meters are close to $150. There is a website that will convert lux to PPFD as long as you know the ºK of your light. I can't link it directly because it's a non-sponsor light company, but it should be the first link if you google Converting Lux to PPFD, which is a website that starts in "waveform."Shed can help you on that I think. There's a site to convert par to lux if I recall.
To hanks a bunch Shed! Ordered one a few minutes ago.I use a $35 US Dr Meter LX1330B lux meter, because PAR/PPFD meters are close to $150. You don't have to know the PPFD of your lights though, and Royal Queen Seeds has a good article about lux and the different stages of tent growing here:
How to Use a Lux Meter to Increase Cannabis Yields - RQS Blog
Among pH testers, loupes, and refractometers, lux meters are a useful tool cannabis growers can harness to ensure optimal plant productivity and health.www.royalqueenseeds.com
PPFD is helpful though if you want to determine the most cost-effective amount of light to give your plants at each stage, as determined by the daily light integral (DLI). You can read all about that here!
This one slipped by the multi-quote. Thanks farside!Someone is racking up titles. Congrats Sauga!
Thanks Dab. Funny though how you get the Oct title for JOTM on Oct 1, but Oct MOTM kicks in on Nov 1.Congrats on yet another title, Mr. S! Journal and member of the same month!? Double party.
Thanks again smokey, and I hope you have a great week.Yes been a big month for Mr.S congratulations well deserved my friend!
My advice, not that you asked, turn CNN off.
Haha, it's friggin' bright. I have to keep an eye on the plants today to make sure they can handle it OK. No hardening them without the dimmer.

No problemo! I'm new with the light, but they never died during the first two days!o m g
probably gonna fire a few questions your way
How do you mean? The light is sold with or without the dimmer. It's under $100 for the option of adding it in. When I wrote Nextlight they said they would give me the upgrade at no charge. They shipped it but forgot the upgrade. There is a wiring diagram that they are sending with it so I don't see any issues in wiring it in. So it wasn't hard at all getting the dimmer, considering the cost.was it hard getting the dimmer ?
lol, the light makes them glisten.sauga is baggin the gold chains ..

i'm a political and news junkie. i lived for years without a television and only basic internet. i now have a television and get two channels. i do not have sat or cable. even as a news junkie - i don't need more.

Didn’t capture this right but gonna go with it anyway. I actually don’t watch CNN and we are very rural so we’ve got basic internet and use a Roku for tv. I’ve spent the last 23 years living in the Washington DC Metro area. For the last 18 years I worked with/in the Pentagon and watched/worked my ass off when new Presidents/administrations came into office. Up until last year when I retired, I worked with/for the current Administration. So, Ive got a little bit of experience under my belt wrt how those turnovers go - under “normal” conditions. (Not saying it’s gonna turnover this time, but if it doesn’t, then there is nothing left to lose and I will double down on the accumulation of weed, liquor, canned goods, and ammo). My daughter works at a major University that opened up, had rampant infections due to stoopid, carefree, invincible students partying, got shut down, reopened again and is having daily infractions of kids having parties with 20, 30, 50, 100 people attending! My son is now a Firefighter EMT in the DC Metro. There is a lot of collateral damage going on with the rioting, and the COVID crisis. I am primarily concerned about them being part of that collateral damage, and that’s stressful.
Sorry MrS. - not trying to be political and will not say anything more about it!
I don't care about that... you're Sarah Sanders!!!!! OMG!!!!Sorry MrS. - not trying to be political and will not say anything more about it!
@Virgin Ground had it done. I believe they custom do that as it's not offered. They are great to deal with.Super cool! I will have to contact @NextLight and see if I can get the dimmer put on the core model. What is the heat like off of the ballast?
Thanks Sunny, you as well!I hope you are have a wonderful evening so far my friend. I’ll be back tracking the thread to see the what’s what and who’s who in this wonderful thread of yours.
Yup, it's a module and dimmer switch. I guess the module needs wiring in and then it hooks up to the dimmer through a com port.i might have to reach out to them. i could swing a fair $100.
Dammit! Now everyone knows! I promise I won't tell that you are David Letterman...don't care about that... you're Sarah Sanders!!!!! OMG!!!!
It is not something that is nomally done, no.@Virgin Ground had it done. I believe they custom do that as it's not offered. They are great to deal with.
I didn't take it that way from you or @Trala. You were both replying to my comments, and I appreciate your support!it wasn't solely directed at you.
It is not something that is nomally done, no.
I offered to pay to have one installed. They added one for me for free and I'm doing a Nextlight journal in return.
They just asked that I don't use the dimmer for the journal as they want consumers to see what it can do as is.
I asked for a dimmer due to the position of my other equipment in the grow spaces.
With my physical limitations it's better for me to have a dimmer and move the plants if needed than to get up on a stool and move my fans around.
