The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Brown sugar is made with molasses, but that doesn't make it a substitute. For one thing, it's not simply molasses you're looking for. It's blackstrap molasses, unsulphered. Blackstrap molasses is a more intense production technique and the end result is much more than a sweetener. The final product, blackstrap molasses is rich in micro nutrients the plants can use. Regular molasses is just sweetner, and isn't useful to the plants or, more notably, the bacteria that eat it and make it available to the plants.

Thanks. Wasn't sure if there was a difference. Thought all sugars worked the same way and helped produce fatter buds. Glad I asked before I dissolved some brown sugar in water and added to my soil

.Live , love , grow.

A taste of SweetSue's world:

I start my days reaching for the feeling of gratitude the moment my eyes open. I'm serious about that statement. I begin each and every day now deliberately reaching for the sense, the feeling of gratitude. I hold onto that feeling as long as I can, which in my case has become all day. :laughtwo: It sets the tone for my day and wonderful things happen to me.

I threw on my clothes prepared to run to the post office and retrieve my bale of Pro-Mix HP, which wasn't delivered by them because it's over 70 pounds. No worry. It's two blocks away, but I have a small dolly to haul it home with, no sweat. As I was putting my shoes on I got the call that the family member who lets me use his Prime account to avoid shipping had driven to the post office himself and was waiting for me downstairs. Cool! He saved me the trip to and from the post office.

Down the stairs like an excited child, bursting out onto the street in absolute glee, I retrieved the heavy bale from his vehicle and carried it to the stairs. Now the fun starts. The box says "Team Lift" for a reason.

There I was, all exhubrance and energy, staring at the first 23 steps I had to roll this big-ass box up, the first of two flights I had to climb. I started up, got a few steps and paused to catch my breath, laughing at the absurd picture I must present in this tiny hallway. :laughtwo:

Just then the door opened to one of the apartments and a neighbor emerged and volunteered to help me carry the box up. The universe corrected the glitch and sent me a team member. :cheesygrinsmiley: Wasn't that sweet of the guys over in the Joy Dept. to hear me and answer so quickly?

Took no time at all for the two of us to get it up here.

I have a couple plants to harvest and a tent to scrub clean before I start playing in the dirt. Later my friends. :slide:

Be daring. Be joyful. Have fun. Life was meant to be fun. :kisstwo:

The stomach grumbles. "Feed me already, you crazy woman!!!"

I walk to the kitchen, look around and grab a brownie.

That qualifies, doesn't it? There's eggs in there. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Life is good when you have a big pile dirt to play with! Enjoy! :hugs: (note: we need a digging in dirt emoji for those of us that never left the sand box :) )

But first, coffee. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The Governor called

I had the baking soda ready to drop into the water and thought I'd better give them a once over in morning light before I started using resources. After a thorough inspection with the loupe I decided I was jumping the gun on these two. There's still no sign of amber trichomes. That's going to determine harvest. They get a reprieve, at least until tomorrow.

Good one Ditch. :laughtwo:

After reading the intro to Doc's lab thread it suddenly clicked for me. It's beginning to make more sense beyond "it works." I've never disputed that it worked. I've allowed myself to get distracted. Now it's time to focus and understand.

I love learning. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The sudden urge to look at some trichomes hit me. I believe in sharing. :battingeyelashes:  What I realized during my serendipitous stop was that the fading pistils were because I sprayed with the neem. So I went looking for signs of new growth.

I found evidence of new growth. :cheesygrinsmiley:

And lots of trichs. :slide: I'll set an alarm and hit them with a Brix/WA foliar at lights on tomorrow.

It's only been 10 days since their second CAT, 50 days into flowering. I might be able to get another week out of them before harvest. I'm gonna try my best.

ok, possibly, unhealthy, ok, possibly,, oh btw,,

you looking for healthy??? best stay away from mj then,,

a list of the toxins in mj smoke,,

"Cannabis smoke is similar to tobacco smoke in that it is a mixture of very small particles and a gas-vapor phase.

Transalation: Cannabis, tobacco, wood smoke and ther smoke are .... smoke.

Both the particulate and vapor phases contain many identified and probably some still unidentified constituents that,

...

based on clinical experience with tobacco smoke, must be assumed to be potentially harmful.

Translation: With no scientific theory to back us up, because tobacco smoke is bad, all smoke is potentially bad.

These statements are pure propaganda.

Based on clinical experience WITH MARIJUANA, marijuana helps prevent lung cancer caused by cigarette smoking.

Based on clinical experience WITH MARIJUANA, marijuana promotes creativity, healing of various serious diseases, and general good health.

Based on clinical experience WITH MARIJUANA, the only identified problem with marijuana smoking is faster onset of schizophrenia type illnesses that were going to happen anyway, but seem to happen earlier in life when smoking marijuana.

There were early reports of man boobs (gynomastea?) but I don't think they really found a link. :)

Thank you Rad for being the voice of reason. Well said. :hugs:

Thank you Robert Bergman, over at a competitor's site. I stumbled onto just what I needed. It pays to be an alert opportunist. :battingeyelashes:

A good start.

Sue, thanks for sharing your hubbie's bonsai tools. I love using my concave pruners for cuttings. Cleanest way to remove a branch. Not necessary for MJ, but I like knowing I can do it without leaving a scar.

Good info from the Bergman. (His obsession with WW is what got me interested and now hooked on them). Are you subscribed to his lab or is that one of his blogs?

It's from his blog on weed KR. This blog was on atmospheric control, something I'm determined to improve in my grow spaces. At least in these tents.

Good morning BrixNewb. :hugs: How delightful to see you here this morning. Another hug. :hugs: Yeah, Callanetics has turned this aging woman into a saucy little firecracker. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm excited. My bale of Pro-Mix HP is waiting at the post office. :yahoo: Time to start over.

Yes, no one was able to figure out what caused it. I've noticed It's shown up in a few of our grows recently. It may be something we all need to come to grips with. Sooner or later it'll all pan out and we'll be better trained. I figure I mismanaged the soil at some point. Starting over gives me a chance to track better. I had a couple emergency teardowns with this soil and apparently I mixed something wrong.

I'm out the door to grab my bale and get some soil started. :slide:

It's a wonderful day guys. I'm off and running into joyful expression. Join me? :battingeyelashes:

I don't know, I seem to have had the same issue since I began about a year ago. I mix the soil as per the directions, I have tried splitting it up into two batches and just mixing one big batch, same results. I let it cook for at least a month in the grow room which is about 74-76 degrees consistently. They are up off the floor with good insulation underneath. Always seems to run out of steam during the grow. I am thinking about sliding a Rescue Drench in as a standard practice around 2nd or 3rd week of flower.

Shortly I am going to do a small test. I am going to take a fresh fan leaf and put it on top of the cooked soil, sprinkle it with Roots! and see what happens. I am thinking the soil activity will be low and I won't see the fuzz. Interested to see what happens.

I got to thinking about mine over at ween's and think my curled leaves may be the soil is too hot. I didn't use two plain waters between drenches, and then I tore down twice, before everything was used up by the maturing plants, so I've essentially overloaded the entire batch. Without soil testing I'd never know what was out of wack.

I've never used a rescue drench. I haven't paid enough attention to this point to even identify when a plant would need one. I depend on the guys saying "Hey Susan, wake up!" :laughtwo: I'll keep an eye on how that works for you.

Part of the challenge of doing this digitally, eh? We're a creative crew. I have no doubt we'll figure all this out. I'll be meeting with Duggan and Ziggy soon, and I plan to have some soil discussions during those days. I'm particularly looking forward to getting Ziggy's thoughts. He's such a maverick and keeps making up rules as he goes. I love it. :laughtwo:

I have to share a laugh:

I'm watching a video of an Abraham Hicks gathering and the discussion is about the buffer of time and how it applies to manifestation.

"You don't plant a seed today" she said "and come back later in the day and insist it show itself to you."

She obviously hasn't visited our neighborhood. :laughtwo:

Did you ever get my PM? You sent me one about a month ago and I sent one back your way.

I also do not do the double water, I single water, then drench. I guess I will have to give the double water a chance, maybe I am too hot. Worth a try at least.

I am going to have to find a way to be peeking over your shoulder while this DBHB lesson is going on. I will ready the pen and the pad.

Drive by.. I have to say something. there alot of bad things from cannabis smoke. I mean alot. It doesn't have nicotine in it but it has all kinds of bad shit in smoke. Any smoke...
I had just posted a list on my thread of some of the toxic stuff in both cigarettes and cannabis. If you go look there are two numbers after each chemical. There is just one after nicotine and the one under it.
a matter a fact,, cannabis has more than tobacco on more than afew.
Buds are filling in nicely. Bonsai kit? I thought it was for dentistry? Tools made my teeth hurt...... JK kind of.. Keepem Green

I got that info from Erowid Cannabis Vault. Just look up chemicals in cannabis and tobacco smoke.. Keepem Green
