The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

That's right Sue. You go get dirty girl. Lol.

Just swinging in to see what this dirt Delivery was about. Really a nice looking Soil isn't it!

Oh, I love building soil Spookies. I spend time infusing it with love and envisioning the hearty plants I'll harvest from it.

Is that one of those little piezo-electric mister disc thingy-ma-doodads?
I hear the can clog pretty quickly. Apparently minerals in the water build up on the disk. They have versions you can clean yourself... or you can buy replacement discs for some. I'll be curious to see how long it lasts.
I've been wanting to make a misting cloner with one.

I have a piezo electric mister that I picked up used at Goodwill the same week I joined :420: .
The 'disc' is showing some wear and tear but the mister is still working fine.

Looks like work. The one thing that doesn't fit in with the Lazy Grower theme I try to adhere to. :biglaugh:
Amen brother!
Thats the exact reason i save the dirt for the outside garden... Where it is already dirty. My very first grow was soil and then i switched to dwc. That was 2+ yrs ago and i still find little pieces of perlite, vermiculite etc in corners and cracks. I am also a clumsy oaf tho and i am certain that you are much more careful than i would be, were it me who had a pile of dirt in my home(not to neglect mentioning my pig-tailed 2 year old tornado/gardening helper whom would no doubt do everything she could to spread as much dirt as far from the tarp as possible)
Bless you,Sue. It is a special kind of woman who will dump several cubic feet of dirt onto her living room floor...

Took pics this morning. I think she's coming along. Pretty well I'm excited. This is my 1st nearly complete grow

I'm on the third floor with only a small balcony to work on

Yup... that'll do it. She'd scream at me if she knew, but I'd do it when she's out if I found myself in a similar configuration.

Dead cute baby! I'm envisioning that twister over my coffee this morning. That's just gotta put some serious twists in a garden.
Have you ever had the thoughts or discussions with your mate about the words and ideas you will try to impart to this young mind regarding the plants we love? I find it so interesting how parents land on this. It really can vary wildly with some parents choosing a very protective path and others choosing a touch of honesty.

Yes Sue BIG accolades for using the house to mix soil. Im sure its COLD as heck outside. I will continue to use Ocean Forest soil. Maybe one day progress to making my own.
Sue, I eat a half cookie of my butter and I cant lift my head 2 hrs later to watch the TV!!!! I CAN lift it but I dont want to and I dont care! Screw the Kings they aint winning anyways.
Ive been eating 1-2 cookies a day a 1/2 at a time. It seems to hit me good 2hrs later. It helps my intestines allot!
Happy New Years Sweet Sue!!! Namaste

I seriously doubt she'd "scream" at one so talented in the twist of the silvery phrase Tead. :battingeyelashes: I trust you'd find a way to get her to support every impulse to grow and stay medicated. There was no evidence of the event by the time my daughter showed up.

It made me smile to realize that I've been so in alignment with who I am that I'd set up my living room in such a way that soil-building indoors was so easy to pull off. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Dale and I made a deliberate choice to never hide our cannabis use from our children. Not ever. For one thing, I wanted them to be aware that we'd made the decision to keep him medicated, to keep us medicated. I now understand my own needs during those years when I was telling myself we were doing that for his benefit. It took a major portion of our income to keep that flow of cannabis into the household.

The children deserved to know the sacrifice we'd made, financially, but I also saw no value in hiding anything from our children.

As an interesting aside, our daughter acknowledges that she likely made it through the teen years without attempting suicide because she played as a child in the rooms where we smoked, which in our home was any room we were in at the time, excepting the childrens' room. She believes the second-hand smoke kept her ECS in just enough balance that she was capable of resisting the anxiety. She didn't get that far out of whack until she moved from our home into her grandmother's home. My mother didn't smoke at all.

Hiding your cannabis use from your children seems a path leading to distrust, and expresses a sense of shame. Where do shame and distrust fit into a healthy home? If you hide this, how do you encourage discussions on the ECS? Granted, I wasn't aware of the ECS until they were grown, but cannabis use was a central part of our marital experience. To have modified our behavior to hide it from the children would have meant we wouldn't have been expressing who we were.

Life is made of choices, and those choices have consequences. Our children watched the drama unfold in front of them. They're strong, capable, self-motivated adults. Neither one uses cannabis recreationally, although in the son's world it's because the Army makes him pee in a cup. But they both learned the benefits and the social costs of our cannabis use, because we never hid it from them.

Ahhh...... :slide: This is my favorite kind of news to find. :cheesygrinsmiley: The New Year looks better than this one, yes? Less intestinal discomfort is something we want to encourage you to continue experiencing. Edibles hit about 90 minutes in, when you don't use liquid sunflower lecithin in the cooking. If you add lecithin into the mix you'll get effects sooner, but I've discovered you still get a sweet additional kick about 90 minutes in. :yahoo:

You keep having your wonderful day 4Dutchess. :hugs::Love:

Looking at the pretty pictures, if this were my plant I'd be expecting her to take another two weeks. Looks like you're already in her harvest window, but it looks like she's still pushing out new pistils. The bulking that can happen in the final two weeks can be a bit breathtaking, so you can watch for when that expansion ceases. They stop drinking water when they're close too, so that can be a good indicator.

Most check the trichomes. They flush from clear to cloudy to amber. The effects go from edgy and speedy with clear, to relaxed and sleepy with amber. You determine the experience you desire and track the trichomes to meet that desire. The pistils are typically rust-colored by then and pulling back into the blossoms.

All of these things come into play in determining harvest timing. You also have the factor of how much do you need to have meds now? If the need is great enough you may choose to harvest earlier. As you gain experience you find your personal preference.

That first full harvest is like your first sweet love. Nothing will ever compare. :battingeyelashes:

I'm using tap water treated with blackstrap molasses to nutralize the chloramines. It needs a ten-minute sit and then it's good to go.

Susan.....WTF........tap water, molassis?????? WRONG....WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can you tell i'm pissed? You already screwd up !I'm mad now. Who told you this was OK? It's NOT!!! Molasses is a big NO , NO with the Kit big one...did you not know that? Tap water is NOT good unless you have had it tested and it falls within certain guidelines...does yours?
This is what pisses me and Tard off all the time...people mess with the instructions cuz they think THEIR way is OK too and then their plants don't grow right and the soil doesn't perform as it should ...then they wonder what went wrong. OK , with your upcoming grow...when you start to have problems cuz your fu...g with things please don't ask us why your plants look crappy....cuz you know ...now! Why Sue, why did you feel compelled to use Molasses....NO, NO , NO! Do you know what that does?

Wow!..that was a lot of useful information. I didn't know that the color of the trichomes also help to determine the effect that one gets. So depending on when I plan to harvest will give you either speedy or relaxed. That's great!

OK...I'll bite. What the heck is wrong with a few PPMs of Black strap Molasses?

Nevermind...I'll come back later. I think I'll get some sunshine.:bongrip:

Duggan, it does you no good to allow yourself to get so upset about such a small thing. Take a breath. I'll wait.....................

Better? Take another..................

"Who told you.....?" Does Doc count? We had this discussion back when I first got the kit. It is unreasonable to expect me to either pay to have an RO system installed into the apartment, or to expect this 63-yr old woman, strong though I may be, to haul gallons of RO water home and up 40 stairs.

Think of what you are all proposing. We can't use tap water that we drink ourselves on these delicate plants that grow anywhere, under any conditions? Water we invest massive funds into assuring the drinking purity of? My municipality water rivals just about any system for clean, pure water. What comes out of my taps is good enough for the kit. It contains chloramines, which are easily neutralized by the addition of two, almost indistinguishable drops of BSL and allowed to sit for a mere ten minutes.

This upsets you. I'd like for you to take the time to try to explain to me, and the room at large, what you believe is in my tap water that is so detrimental to the success of the kit that I should rethink my policy. I'm not interested in "these are the instructions."

I'm hoping Doc will get over hear and clear this up as i'm not getting thru to some people about following directions. Molasses is NOT good for our soil...not even a little. The micro herd in our soil has to eat and process the "rocks" Do ya think they will ,with a big plate of "apple pie " in front of them instead of eating the rocks....get it now! And with the tap water...NOT GOOD, NOT GOOD! Tap water has lots of things in it that inhibit the growth of the micro herd in the soil. So, if you give them apple pie and chemicals to kill them , they will eat a big pc. of pie....and die instead of multiplying and thriving , eating and processing the "rocks"
ATTENTION KIT USERS........Follow directions! Use RO , Distilled , or TESTED tap water. Not something you think will work. See my plants, Doc's plants , Tard's, and everyone elses that is following directions. We are successful because we follow directions and DON"T use things that are NOT in the KIT! PERIOD! If you use the kit , and use your methods then don't ask for help or wonder why your plants and soil are not performing as they should.
Everyone knows me here , knows i am very passionate about this "kit" ....why....? IT works better than any other growing system i've tried in over 30 yrs. of struggling to get a decent , reliable system. When i see new growers changing things up ...even just a little. it pisses me off! Period! Their grow fails or doesn't perform as it should and then they wonder what happened....NOT ME , look at my plants....i follow directions ...that's all...nothing more , nothing less! Cheers gang .

Susan, i want desperately for you to succeed! I have tried to tell you ....tap water may be OK for us . but not a very delicate micro herd that we are trying to grow and multiply in our soil. If you want to use it ,do your own thing then and good luck.

I want you to stop and consider that you are suggesting that two, barely discernable drops of BSL per gallon of water, is enough to disrupt the workings of the micro herd.

I expect my soil to be stronger than that, and quite frankly, if this kit is this sensitive, I'd like a refund.
