The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

I've had that aloe pup's mother with me for 5 or 6 house moves in 3 or 4 states over the course of decades. Heck, that aloe is with me on my second marriage and second set of children raised through high school. Until just now, I never realized how far we had travelled together :)

Wow! That's quite a history Rad. I have some pieces of pottery that've been with me since college, so we're talking better than 30 years. Plants I've raised never lasted that long. I hope I can keep this one alive for many, many years.

Happy Mother's Day to any of you blessed with children.

In my mind, growing aloe and schefflera don't count as raising plants - they grow themselves. Spider plants and palms start to count. Once you keep african violets, philodendron, and orchids alive, it totally counts :)

Guys........... I'm so moved. You've left me a bit speechless. :laughtwo: Not entirely, mind you, just a bit. Lol!

Happy Mother's Day to you Sweet one.

Have a big toke on me. :passitleft:

Thanks Jim. It'll extend this buzz I've me paintings all day. I swear, there've been moments I've talked with God. :laughtwo: :passitleft:

Have a great day you MOM!:thumb::circle-of-love:

Thank you so much Duggan. :hugs:

Happy Mothers Day Sue. I don't have my mother anymore so I just borrow other people's moms. :thumb:

Happy Mothers Day Sue!

Thank you Canna. I always take the day to celebrate wonder of my children's births and the joys of parenting. It's such a beautiful day today. I'll be treating myself out to dinner in a bit. Well, take out, but cooked by someone else. The restaurants are madhouses today.

Your lovely photo's going to get pulled for being off topic. It was greatly appreciated, and I reposted it on my Off Topic Spot thread so it wouldn't be lost.

What a wonderful way to put it. Im in the same boat. Happy Mothers Day :)

Thank you mouser. :battingeyelashes:

Daily Update: Sunday, May 8, 2016

This is the first Mother's Day of my life that I was able to start the day with a bio bomb brownie and maintain that superior level of buzz the entire day. This is a freeing experience, in fact it's been spiritual. I've been putting off paying closer attention to slowing things down and regrouping spiritually, choosing to skirt along the edges and make gradual improvements. It's nice to take a day to spend in casual conversation with God about your life and the direction you'd like to see it take.

He keeps telling me to trust and stay calm. I think I'll listen. I'm determined to get down to the 20% of my belongings I actually use by the end of next month. I took time from sorting through those belongings to tend to the garden. Would you like to see? Good, they love to show off. :laughtwo: We'll start with the veg tent.

image11710.jpeg

Before we know it I'm going to unzip this and be confronted by a jungle. Lol!

image11711.jpeg

Super Cheese (Day 12), getting ready to make a growth spurt. I can feel it, can't you?

image11712.jpeg

Strawberry Blue (Day 26)

image11713.jpeg

Crossroads 2 (Day 6) Looking much more vigorous.

image11714.jpeg

Shiva Shanti ll (Day 5)

image11715.jpeg

Crossroads (Day 12)

image11716.jpeg

The flowering tent.

image11717.jpeg

Both specimens are at Day 88. You can see the CBD Critical Mass on the left is getting ready to bloom.

image11718.jpeg

Give her a few more days. Eager little thing. She's flip + 5 days.

image11719.jpeg

CBD Critical Cure is flip + 23 days. She's lovely. Cajun's mentioned the strain stinks in bloom and cures to the strong smell of mango. This one has no decernable scent as of yet. I'll be checking every day from here on out. It suddenly occurred to me that there might be a subtle scent marker to the bud set stage when I want to do the CATs. Hmmmm...... I wonder if anyone's noticed any correlation? Stoner thought, but it came in as a flash of intuition, so now I'll have to research it. I'll wait until tomorrow. Time for another hit..................................

image11720.jpeg

I took two. :laughtwo: It's Zamaldelica. A nice add-on to the bio bomb brownie. Wow!!!

On to the Dark Devil. She's still mostly clear, but I'm starting to see amber. I'm trying to decide whether to take her tomorrow or give her another day. I'll check again later and make a decision then. I like to get it all set up in advance. The water can all sit out overnight. I'm getting excited now. :slide:

image521.png

Are you guys seeing this? It's so dense in some areas it's beginning to look like a cloud. I didn't even notice that until right now, looking over these pictures. I'm thinking let her ride through one more essential oil foliar. This is looking interesting, and that would be today. Hold on. Be right back................ OK then, she just bought three more days. :laughtwo:

image522.png

I find it interesting that initially I found the smell of these mixed essential oils repugnant in the closed space of my living room. Either I'm adjusting to the smell or they're pulling off some crazy chemical thing mixed together, but I'm actually enjoying the scent now. Clove is the overriding presence and the other additions give it an unusual but pleasant edge.

DDA2 (Day 26) She's survived!!! I'm interested in seeing how the training of this one goes. This will be a totally new approach for me with the Dark Devil Autos. Aside from topping that last one I've let them run wild.

image11724.jpeg

The seedlings. Sometime this week I'll transplant them into one gallons. Adjustments need to be made in the tiny closet first. I'll wait until I harvest the Dark Devil Auto.

Carnival, in the back, is at Day 21. Bubba Kush is at Day 25. They're ready for more root space.

image11725.jpeg

The clones are now at Day 6 and holding nicely. I won't even look for roots until it's been two weeks. They're happy right now. That makes me happy. :battingeyelashes:

image11726.jpeg

Can't wait to get at this plant. I keep questioning my harvest intentions - am I harvesting because she's ready or am I scheduling it because I want the plant. Lol!

image11727.jpeg

That's the end of the tour. Here, pass to the left :passitleft: and Happy Mother's Day. It's been pretty high over here. :laughtwo: I'm hoping yours was as enjoyable. I'll be heading out to pick up my dinner soon and then a quiet evening at home with some good music, so a couple more hits before I go.

Thanks so much for stopping. Continue on with joyful living. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Hug your mothers if you have easy access. One more time for good measure. :circle-of-love:

LOL when I saw this the 1st thing that came to my mind was "WOW that looks like a Menorah" Sue? by chance are you Jewish? :circle-of-love:

:laughtwo: That same thought crossed my mind too OG, when I first saw the picture. It is strongly suggestive.

No, raised fundamental Christian, so spiritual. Organized religion and I clash, to put it mildly.

It was such a beautiful shot I had to share. Good Morning, by the way.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto, Day 87

She's looking so delicious I decided she deserved her own updates coming into the home stretch.

image11755.jpeg

She is soooo ready to come down. She has at least two more days. Extremely close right now and swelling up like mad. The pot got some kelp slurry and an aloe/coconut water drench this morning. Let's see if that sends out more pistils.

image11756.jpeg

image11757.jpeg

Look at this branch! Incredible growth going on here.

image11758.jpeg

A side-on view of that same branch.

image11759.jpeg

The top bunch of blossoms is a barrel of tightly-packed blossoms measuring 5" long and 4" across. This is standard throughout the plant.

image11760.jpeg

Yeah, I'm really pleased with how this one's looking. Just a few more days now. :slide:

Daily Update: Monday, May 9, 2016

Let's start off with the seedlings, since we're right here anyway, and work our way back into the room.

Carnival, (Day 22) in the back, got a good drink and is recovering nicely. Bubba Kush is now at Day 26 and panting for a transplant.

image11761.jpeg

DDA2 (Day 27)

image11762.jpeg

The flowering tent. Nothing but growing going on in here.

image11764.jpeg

image11766.jpeg

CBD Critical Mass (Day 89, flip + 6)

image11767.jpeg

image11768.jpeg

CBD Critical Cure (Day 89, flip + 24)

image11769.jpeg

image11770.jpeg

image11771.jpeg

Into the veg tent. All pots got a good aloe/coconut water drench.

image11772.jpeg

image11773.jpeg

Super Cheese (Day 13)

image11774.jpeg

Strawberry Blue appears to have grabbed hold of the soil, or the soil's grabbed hold of her, but she's beginning to take off again.

image11775.jpeg

image11776.jpeg

Time to begin to open her up. In a day or two I'll pull out some pipe cleaners and Velcro and begin coaxing her out away from the stem. It'll take some planning due to her position in the pot. This is a good start.

image11777.jpeg

image11778.jpeg

The community pot. The Crossroads is now at Day 13, Crossroads 2 is at Day 7 and Shiva Shanti ll is all of 6 days old.
image11779.jpeg

The clones have survived for a week now and look spectacular.

image11780.jpeg

That's my crew today. Fell asleep at nine last night to find myself wide awake at four in the morning, so I've already been up eight hours. :laughtwo: I think I'll just accept that I'm a night owl and embrace it. Obviously, as long as I can get 5 hours straight I'm good. I did get lots of visiting time in during those dark hours right before dawn when the birds are so active outdoors, although I spent almost all of that time at one thread.

I'd fallen behind on Pigeon's video journal and spent the time catching up on three videos I'd missed. If you haven't checked out the thread yet, I highly recommend it. He brings a freshness to the process and it's nice to see the day-to-day view of the gardening. Here, I'll give you the link so you don't have to go looking. He's taught me so much through these videos.

A Video Journal With Rex Pigeons - 2016

On with our day. Spread that joy around now. I'll be seeing you around until I run out of steam. :laughtwo: Then I'll take a nap soon and be good until 4 AM. Get right back on schedule. Lol!

I did some consulting with the guys over on ShiggityFlip's Timing the Catatonic Drench thread and decided to trim my CBD Critical Cure a bit tighter to encourage all the growth into the tops of the colas. I also decided that her next drench, in two or three days, will be her first CAT.

I trimmed her up nice and neat

image11785.jpeg

..... leaving about 12 - 14" of Bud growth on each branch.

image36934.jpg

Then I did some cleaning out of the interior so I could see the soil from above again.

image11786.jpeg

Trimmings.

image11787.jpeg

You need to get yourself a juicer Ms Sweetsue and make use of all that gorgeous trim ;) I freeze any trim instantly! Then juice when I need :Namaste:

Great idea. I'd forgotten about freezing them. :laughtwo: I've been recycling as mulch until I have some clover. Today's was more than I can use like that.

I'm right there with you growlow. I love to put a few leaves in my beet juice every morning. Question for you though, do you feel like the leaves make your throat a little itchy? I only ever us fresh leaves so wondering if freezing them first would help. I did a little research and saw that juicing raw could have these effects not that they are horrible but something I could live without.
