The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Loving the history lesson guys. :circle-of-love:

Well, I've come down enough to get the update done. Edibles last longer. Just sayin'.

Daily Update: Thursday, May 5, 2016

Maintenance notes:
- Strawberry Blue got transplanted and throughly watered in.
- Dark Devil Auto got her next essential oil foliar.
- I forgot to mention yesterday that I topped the SWICK reservoirs.

That's all I needed to tend to today.

Starting out in the veg tent.

It's time to transplant the Strawberry Blue.

The flowering tent.

Theyre both 85 days old.

CBD Critical Mass (Flip + 2 days) was ready to get in here and take off.

CBD Critical Cure (Flip + 20)

image11559.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto (Day 83) got her essential oil torture spray today. I'm still waiting on her to make the call. She's not there yet, I can tell you that, but she's getting close. I can almost hear the pant. :laughtwo: It's gonna be hard to let this one cure completely. She survived the foliar, in fact it was almost as though she welcomed it. I could almost see the trichomes stand at attention at this new threat. :laughtwo:

image11560.jpeg

The Clones (Day 2) got a touch of aloe vera juice to keep everything moist.

image11561.jpeg

The Seedlings. Time to make it happen.

image11562.jpeg

Right on time.

image11563.jpeg

I dug a hole away from the center of the football, dusted everything with myco powder and dropped her in. I gave her a good collar of extra vermicompost and watered her in thoroughly. One of the things I discovered was the soil wasn't up to my moisture standards (no living plant pulling up water) so I gave the pot a gallon of good, clean water, applied as per Emmie's instructions: watered in slowly, 1/3 at a time with ten minute breaks in between. This gives the matrix time to get the water more evenly distributed.

That video Pigeons made the other day had a profound effect on me. :laughtwo:

image11564.jpeg

The seedlings left behind. Their day's not too far off. Bubba Kush is 22 days old, Carnival is all of 18 days old, pretty little thing. I'm already anticipating my first hit. :battingeyelashes:

image11565.jpeg

DDA2 (Day 23) was being overrun by the clover again, so I chopped and dropped to clear the space. What's not to like about a cover crop that pulls nitrogen from the atmosphere and makes introducing that nutrient into the soil as easy as "snip!" :laughtwo:

You see she's recovering nicely from her beheading.

image11566.jpeg

One last check on the Strawberry Blue. Look at that! She's all settled in already. :blunt:

Now we just watch them grow as I learn to train them for greater yields.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be seeing you around the threads. Get out there and spread that joy now. :green_heart:

:Namaste:

I keep putting off my transplants. I need to get my lazy butt in there and just do it.

Yes you do Noob. :hugs: They'll thank you for the additional root space.

Your transplants are so smooth. I really need to learn that art!

:laughtwo: The pictures left out the moment when her entire upper add-on section fell apart and I had to scramble to get her quickly in place. Lol! They're resilient plants that just ask for adequate root space, good water and lots of light. Mine survive in spite of me, so I hold great hope for yours smokie.

I'm under the impression you're still running the Doc protocol there SweetSue?

Yes indeed I am Growlow. I'm running both Doc's soil protocol and four LOS no-till pots. The two CBD beauties in flower right now are my specimens in Doc's soil. I just insist on having it all. I get comparable quality produce from both. I like the different energy of the plants in Doc's soil, but I also like the beauty of my LOS plants and the ease of the no-tills, as well as the organic nature of cultivating with LOS no-tills. If I had to choose I'd be hard-pressed.

I haven't been at this cultivation game long enough to tell you if one system is better than the other. My sense is that they're so close that it doesn't matter which one you choose. It comes down to a personal choice. I don't know what it says about me that I refuse to choose. :laughtwo:

I think it's clear the Doc's kit certainly produces quality. One day I'd like to do a run with one of his kits to see for myself. For now my LOS no-tills keep me happy and the product I make from them is without a doubt top shelf :)

Good to see you around GL,....I like how SS likes the different methods....getting loads of very good experience. For me , i find Doc's gear just so easy and straight forward....but with challenges if you so desire. This is when the real learning comes in...especially if you keep notes and such , like most of us do . Tweeking, as we say , the "Kit". It all boils down to balancing the soil in a container,...this is a difficult task for the soil. I'm presently using "third run" DBHBB soil for my grow goig on ....i'm gathering info and thoughts as to , going beyond to 4,5,6. It appears that after three runs with it , it's too unstable and further testing is required to properly amend it. Too much guess work then....the reason i use this method is the low, low maintenance and NO guess work, so it may wind up out back in a flower bed. Have ya's all figured out , i'm rambling yet....eh...:ganjamon:.have an awesome night Sue and gang!:volcano-smiley:

I will admit Bob Segers "Ramblin Man" came to mind :P hahah just messing with ya mate. I have 4 books with notes on notes. Every new strain gets mapped from the first day they come in. I don't grow to sell. I grow to heal ;) So the conquest for perfection is ever present!

Accepted. :battingeyelashes:  I'd be honored Rad.

The aloe vera pup should be there on Monday or Tuesday. It came out with only one root, so I didn't try to protect the root during shipping. The aloe will just have to grow roots to survive anyway. I watered houseplants on Tuesday so the pup has a lot of moisture reserves. I also tossed in about 1/2 cup of Dutch White Clover seeds in an unmarked baggie :)

Thank you so much Rad. That's so sweet of you. :hugs:  Those clover seeds will come in handy. You're a good friend it'll be sweet to have a part of your home in mine. :battingeyelashes:

Random shots

I was wandering and they caught my eye.

Look at her reach for the light!

image11581.jpeg

She'll be just fine.

image11577.jpeg

The clones are holding nicely so far. I put a small plate under them to hold water and keep the humidity up a little more.

image11578.jpeg

The Dark Devil Auto shows no signs of stopping.

image11579.jpeg

These blossoms are on the other side of the same bud.

image11580.jpeg

What at a beautiful plant.

You really shouldn't let them get this dry. I think the Bubba Kush will forgive me. Let's see if I can forgive myself.

Thanks for the feed back Sue! I posted over in the study hall. Sorry I should have done that first considering thats where I got all the info. I blame it on the oil! LOL

I have no problem with you posting it here RheinRover. I just knew the brains you wanted to pick were more likely to be hanging out over there than here.

I dissolved my nasty oil pull in alcohol and tossed it into the freezer overnight. I'll filter it through a coffee filter in the morning and see what happens. I've been researching how to clean oil and I have a couple other things I want to try. There's a really neat trick with rubbing alcohol and non-iodized salt that I'm going to try next. Growing cannabis turns into a big science experiment doesn't it? :laughtwo:

Totally Sue! I think thats what keeps me going. Not only do I get to raise a plant but after its done growing the fun doesn't stop. I think at first my wife thought I was a little crazy but now she's just as amazed. My main hobby has always been brewing beer but this is on a whole new level and something I can partake in every day not just once a month when its time to brew.
I'm excited to hear how your oil turns out after the filtering. Also I have to look up this trick you talk of.
