The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

I'm right there with you growlow. I love to put a few leaves in my beet juice every morning. Question for you though, do you feel like the leaves make your throat a little itchy? I only ever us fresh leaves so wondering if freezing them first would help. I did a little research and saw that juicing raw could have these effects not that they are horrible but something I could live without.

That's interesting RheinRover. I'd never heard of that before. I had heard that individuals with digestive difficulties can be irritated by the sharp edges of the leaves. Something about little hooks on the leaves. It was quite a while back and I read it in passing while on another search, so I didn't pay much attention. Could this be a contributing factor?

Sue, I think the major issue is the little hairs on the stems. They become dislodged while juicing and ultimately end up in your final product. I have removed the stems a few times, which helped a little but unless you really cut up leaf to make sure all has been removed its not a big enough notice for me to spend the time. I will have to freeze some and see if the cold makes the hairs brittle causing them to break up small enough to where they aren't an issue anymore.

Yes, it was the hairs. Freezing may be a solution. Let us know how it goes.

You know I went to bed early the night before last and woke up at 4 AM. I figured I'd take a nap somewhere in the day and get back on my night owl schedule. Well, the nap never materialized and I was still up until 5:30 AM. I got caught up on a few journals it was bothering me to be negligent in, and somewhere around 4:30 AM I had some fun with the remains of a bud I nursed to end up with a ShiggityFlip.

What's a ShiggityFlip? I'm so glad you asked. :laughtwo: This link will explain it all. If you haven't tried this, I suggest you give it go once.

What the heck is a ShiggityFlip anyway?

According to my photo time stamps, it took me nine minutes to finish this ShiggityFlip off. Wow! What a buzz. :laughtwo:

At the end of a long sleep-deprived day that included an awesome run of Callanetics I still only needed 4.5 hours sleep. I must be one healthy woman.

Time for a breakfast brownie and then gardening chores call. :ciao:

Morning Sue :hugs:  :hugs:

Good afternoon you Am4zin man. :hugs:  :hugs:

How am I not subbed up here? Holy cow, I have 156 pages to read....tonight will be a long one. If anyone needs me, I'll be here. Lol :reading420magazine:

:laughtwo: :welcome: nismo. Honey, no one expects you to read all 156 pages. Good grief, we'd rather not have to send a search and rescue party out to find you. LOL!

If you feel the need to do so, there's lots of good info in there, but your company is the priority. Anything of great importance was covered in the first couple pages or will be repeated at some point in this ongoing perpetual. Ask questions. I don't mind answering.

Make yourself at home. There's always a tray of brownies around here somewhere and probably some bottles of mango juice to prime the pump with about 30-45 min before you indulge in thatthat you bio bomb brownie. :battingeyelashes:

air duct in the hall, make a right and go down three vents until you see a purple light. that's somewhere near the beginning lol

And this is why I adore you so much. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto: Day 88

I'm taking her down tomorrow. She's done. She's begging me to take her now. I removed all the faded fans yesterday, chanting "pull" with each one. :laughtwo: For those of you who don't follow Pigeon's video journal - and ask yourself why that is? - he did a harvest video the other day where he chanted that with every fan he picked. It was hysterical, and I know I'm not the only gardener who'll find themselves doing the same thing. :laughtwo:

I'm going to be quiet here so you can simply enjoy the splendor that is a Dark Devil Auto. I'll take a couple hits of this delicious Fantasmo Express while I wait for you to finish. :blunt:

I know, she's a beaut!! :passitleft: Here, pass to the left please. :passitleft:

Tomorrow she'll be hanging to drip dry and begin curing. I'm going to hold off on testing her as long as I can force myself to. :laughtwo: Those of you that grow this devilish strain know how difficult that can be. Haha! I'll probably have to keep one of those snowball-sized popcorn buds for a taste. I know me. Lol!

Ahhhh........ New Dark Devil Auto. Yummy!!!!

Daily Update: Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Let's see what the rest of the crew's up to, shall we?

I gave the LOS pots a small hit of aerated compost tea that's been brewing since Sunday evening. I'll be topping off the SWICK reservoirs as soon as I post this and before I run out to the store.

DDA2 (Day 28) A couple more days and it'll be time to start training her.

image11820.jpeg

Carnival (Day 23) on the left, Bubbha Kush (Day 27) on the right. They're going to be really happy to get upcanned tomorrow.

image11821.jpeg

Into the flowering tent. Both plants are at Day 90. The CBD Critical Mass, on the left is now flip + 7 days, the CBD Critical Cure at flip + 25.

image11822.jpeg

image11823.jpeg

The veg tent.

image11824.jpeg

image11825.jpeg

Super Cheese (Day 14). I gently coaxed the branches open to get more light into the center. I'll do this a couple more times today.

image11826.jpeg

The same with Crossroads (Day 14)

image11828.jpeg

Shiva Shanti ll (Day 7) has a deformed leaf. I didn't notice that before. New growth looks good.

image11829.jpeg

Crossroads 2 (Day 8)

image11830.jpeg

Well, this is a good sight, isnt it? I'd worried about the humidity levels in there. Obviously I worried in vain.

image11831.jpeg

Eight days and counting. Looking really good.

image11832.jpeg

Short and sweet today guys. I'm off to the store to get more lemon juice for the wash tomorrow. Harvest in the morning. I'm going to remember music this time. :laughtwo: All these harvests I've pulled down and not once did I stop to put on some good music. Tomorrow I start a new tradition. Any suggestions?

My choice would be for some Katrina & The Waves - Walking on sunshine follow that with Kool and the gang - Celebration :D

Excellent choices. I believe I'll load them into a harvest playlist. :hugs:

Very excited for another harvest Sue! That time seemed to fly by now that I think about it. I know I'm here a little late but it's never too late for hugs :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

She's 20 days past breeder projections as it is. :laughtwo:

Never too late for hugs. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

I like long, floaty songs during harvest: Kitaro, Santana's Moonflower,
or something very familiar, any album I've heard 100 times before - Norah Jones, BB King, Dark Side of the Moon, Carol King's Tapestry

Tapestry is a good choice Rad. Perfect! I get so excited leading into a harvest I have a hard time sleeping at all.

Green Flower Media has an article I was reading earlier on using cannabis to treat insomnia. They offer an on line course that I'm considering paying for. It's just $25 and it covers, among other things, cannabis dosing strategies to both induce sleep and to follow a good night's sleep with an alert morning. All done through control of the cannabinoid ratios.

You see how this could appeal to someone like me? :laughtwo: It's money I'd probably fritter away on eating out. I think this might be a better use of those funds and force me to start learning how to cook for myself at the same time. Then the information I learn can be shared. :battingeyelashes:

I think I talked myself right into it. :laughtwo:

That course sounds interesting, i despise insomnia (he says at 3:37am) ive only got one harvest under my belt but know the feeling I think im mor eexcited this time than the first possibly because i know its coming :D

I don't have insomnia, that much I know. I have disrupted sleep patterns brought on by the death of my beloved and my need to redefine myself following that life-changing event. I certainly could benefit from learning proper cannabis dosing to regulate those patterns a little and it would be wonderful to be able to share those dosing ratios with some real insomniacs.

I watched my daughter go through a cycle of insomnia once. Thankfully it was the only such event she's been challenged with, but it was frightening how psychotic the brain becomes when seriously sleep deprived.

I have the luxury of a free schedule, meaning I can sleep whenever. I am growing an indica this round to help with the sleep "issue". By the time I harvest I'll have a better idea of what to do with it.

Water's sitting, getting to room temperature. Fiskar's have been cleaned up. Five lemons gave up their juice, which is sitting in the fridge, waiting for the moment.

Now I try to get some sleep.

Higghhhhh Sue! Big Huggssss! That dark devil looks lovely! Cant wait to see how your harvest turns out after cured! :volcano-smiley:

All prepped and ready for surgery. Hope the harvest goes well. Has been a blast watching that DD grow, looking forward to a smoke report once its cured a bit.
