The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Yes Sue...training of all sorts can increase yield but YOU have a limiting factor that will out weigh any training method....and that's small pots. When they're out of gas ....they're out of gas , and no training or magic will work. try just upping the size a little Sue....just a little. Some of your pots ....are , as you put it ."Tiny". In any case your having a blast and learning lots of things about cultivating and the different traits strains have to offer an accomplished grower. The experience you are gaining here is priceless...in any event! keep up the great work Sue and most of all don't stop having fun and never stop learning!:Namaste::circle-of-love:

Thanks, and good morning Duggan. :hugs:

Lately it occurs to me that three gallons might be a good minimum. I need to figure out that minimal size and the minimal number of plants I want. Deciding on the grow space would be a good thing. :laughtwo:

Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning everyone. :battingeyelashes:

A couple teasers. The baby is now 57 days old! I think we need to begin to refer to her as "young woman".

I've been into the tent and did the only thing that needed done, turning the back Dark Devil Auto, Afghani and Carnival that 1/4 daily shift I'm so fond of. Got some good thoughts on using CFLs I'll put up later, but I have a couple appointments I need to make today.

I know, I have to be responsible for myself and another person today. LOL! Sadly, the appointment for my brother is more concerning than it would have been had I taken the the time to be more attentive. Forgiveness. It begins with me forgiving me for daring to be human. Let's see how light I can keep the mood today for his benefit.

He lives below my daughter, who lives in the apartment next to mine, sharing the balcony. Dale's brother lives below me. Both of them wish to die in their sleep each and every night. I kid you not. This is the energy that fuels my wellspring of joy. And you wondered why I'm so irrepressible! It's a survival technique. :laughtwo: It helps to grow the quality I do. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I never tire of shots of this, do you? Do we even need to ask who this is? :laughtwo: :green_heart:

I'll be in and out. See you around. And hey...... Thanks for stopping :hugs:

I simply  when a picture has both LED light and white light intermixed
creates a stunning contrast that for me is very pleasing, but then again everything about your garden I find pleasing:circle-of-love:

:ciao:Sue. I see you're chopping them down like clockwork now.

Your having too much fun over there young lady.

Living large mon ami. If I learned nothing over the last year it was that life is meant to be lived with passion. I'm happy to say it's working out nicely. But really, how can this be anything other than fun? :laughtwo:

Thank you OG. The camera finds those shots instinctively. All I do is steady the hand and pray. LOL!

Out for a run, seen a gathering at Susan's, thought I'd run by for some high-fives and hugs!

 :high-five: :hugs: :high-five: :hugs:

:high-five: :hugs: There! That feels much better.

:ciao:Sue. I see you're chopping them down like clockwork now.

Gotta stay on schedule to get shut down and cleaned up. I'm going to be running around here like a headless chicken in about two weeks. Up until then, though, it's all getting the most joy out of the experience. These charges of mine make that easy. That Carnival..... Do you see her Reg? Wait until one in your tent looks like this. She's breathtaking. Plant your best genetics in that soil Reg. Treat yourself to the show. :battingeyelashes:

You're a good man Charlie Brown.

You're all good men. :circle-of-love:

Finally home and managed to get a few minutes of tent lovin'. Geez, that was rough. Glad I'm home. I need to run out for his meds, but that can wait. Lights out is in ten minutes.

Here - a treat. An unexpectedly beautiful shot of the Jamaican Dream.

Why not another? Frosty development.

As I turned to back out of the tent I was greeted by the underworld of Carnival. Here's a perspective you don't get too often. :battingeyelashes:

The CFLs make an excellent lighting option for a grow IMHO, but to get the most out of them you need to be bold and get the lights right in there as close as possible. The 23watt size are very efficient at supplying the light, as long as you remember that the usable light is from the sides, not the tip.

I've always been a fan of the basics.

GROW AWESOME PLANTS!

I like to box the plant in with lights. The Jamaican Dream has lights on three sides, and the reflective surface of the tent interior as the fourth wall. She sits surrounded by 310 watts of CFLs, ten 23 watt bulbs and two 40 watt ones.

The Dark Devil Auto sitting in the back of the tent is another example of getting the bulbs right up against the plant, without actually touching the bulb to the leaf.

image3783.jpeg

You can also plainly see from this picture how I made sure to have both spectrums of bulb present. She gets a 1/4 turn every day. The strip with bulbs gets moved aside, the pot gets a spin and the lights go right back up against the plant. She's sitting in 195 watts of CFLs, five 23 watt bulbs and two 40 watt ones.

Mix the spectrum up a little and push them in there super close. That's the way to get the most out of the CFLs.

Couldnt resist this.
