Hey Rob,

I was running a green light as nite light in my flower room, it was mounted overhead. Anywho I flipped my Wedding Cake clones to flower. I’m all over the place logistically with seasonal travel, not the sharpest knife in the drawer but 4 weeks later I realized there was a problem, no pistils no sign of flower after 4 weeks of flip… turned off the green LED light and about a week later… presto magico she finally started to pop first pistils

I thought the green led bulb was safe but apparently this one wasn’t…
Green light from my dehumidifier might have been an issue, but I felt like I had that taken care of too. Thanks for stopping by!

Miss Sticky - Day 18 of Flower.
20241008_141651.jpg

Once again I had to flex the colas down. I thought maybe stretch was slowing but the last 24 hours has been the biggest growth spurt yet. They were up to 1200PPFD and now they are 950-1000.

I still have 6" of room to raise the light so tomorrow, which is top dressing day, I will also raise the light.

20241008_141605.jpg

Some Larf Valley cola shots.

20241008_141619.jpg

Everything under the top couple buds will get stripped off. I just want the top buds of all the side branches.

20241008_141627.jpg

I'll likely keep the top 3 on this one. Possibly the 4th.

20241008_141631.jpg

Same here.

@Thirvnrob here are some soil mites for you. 2 shots of the same area in the worm farm, top pic is with the flash, lower one is without. Every white speck is a mite. The big ones are one kind and all the white that looks more like fungus is millions of little ones like a haze.

Miss Sticky aeroclones - Day 13 in soil.
20241008_165559.jpg

Bottom center is the 1st root tip to poke out. 2 weeks is about normal starting with new unused soil and fresh myco. They are off and running now, leaves are heading skyward.

20241008_165547.jpg

Just the tip.

20241008_165629.jpg

They are looking perky so I couldn't resist. I popped off both middle fans on each, they aren't this pretty anymore but....

20241008_165613.jpg

This one without aloe, the one on the left, brixed at 13.5 with a fairly good calcium line. Certainly adequate. For 13 days and no used soil I'll take it. Sooner is better as they need brix quick but now they made it and they have their own biomes. New clones are so susceptible to bugs.

20241008_165617.jpg

This one, the one on the right that got aloe brixed an even 15 with perfect calcium.

20241008_165651.jpg

Aloe plant before plucking.

20241008_165655.jpg

Non aloe before plucking.
They both have excellent structure. This strain is pretty cool, just fu@#ing huge!

20241008_165820.jpg

No sprouts yet in the EWC sprouting front.

Unsolicited I do. The Phototone app, yes? If you have an iPhone, the paper diffuser works great. But - it has to be standard printer type white and unlined paper, and it has to be taped in place (or however) so it’s nice and tight around the phone. I’ve used it for years, often recommended it, and believe it’s as good or better than any light measuring app. If you already do all that and it’s still not accurate I don’t know what to tell you, sorry. FWIW.
Hi @Jon
Yeah I’m using it with the proper paper, but I’ve not been using the right light source thing  Doomed in I

I got the full spec one yesterday but didn’t try it, so hopefully I’m all good now lol
I’ve got all the right stuff, but still haven’t got a clue 😂
Thank you mate
:thanks::thumb:

the Sour Diesel has seeds. There are 5 plants in the flower room. None of the other 3 have seeds - 2 of them are autos & supposedly finishing up. That leaves just the Green Crack for me to worry about. If it’s a pollination thing, why isn’t the Green Crack seeding? If it’s a hermaphrodite, why no nanners or balls? I’m pretty confused. I’ve noticed one of the girls foxtailing @ I’m seeing the beginnings of calyx towers. I don’t really want to Chuck the plants & at this point, there’s no more damage to be done anyway. There’s gotta be something about the environment - this is the third time it’s happened. I might have to shut down & start over…

Maybe they came and went? 🤔

Hi @Gee64
Another problem here 😂🤣
Iv put more EMC’s on, but these ones was different, the first lot I had was more like soil, and they was dry, these ones are like mud, pure black and wet, iv put em in like before but now the waters pooling on top, iv got away with 3 but one is pretty bad, any suggestions ?

Iv ordered some canna bio terra plus soil, this is canna’s organic one, supposedly, will that be ok to top dress with to try sort this pooling thing out ?

To high of a PPFD can cause hermies. Any chance you may have overdone the light at one point or another during flower?
This is true and the thing about that is, at least from what I’ve seen, that once you’ve accidentally (usually) begun the process of foxtailing, even if you reduce the light the plant tends to keep right on doing it. It’s hard to turn off foxtailing. In fact I’ve never asked the question, and this is as good a place as any - does anyone have a “turn off foxtailing” method to share?

Scissors. 😁👍

LOLOLOLOL!!!! But seriously…is my observation the same as what you’ve seen?
Oh JL, I read and LOLed at that so fast I thought it was a relatively rare Gee joke, and a good one. Still a good joke. And actually that might just work for all I know. Lmao. True fact: some people intentionally make their plants foxtail in the belief that it increases yield. Which I can see making sense for maybe those who do everything but smoke weed with their weed, ie oils or extracts or whatever. Idk.

I hear ya Kal, some commercial EWC sucks. It's why I started my own worm farm. All you can really do is let the surface dry out and then crumble it up with your fingers and gently water it back in.

You can also mix in some perlite before you add it but that doesn't really fix the problem, it just makes it less bad.

Once you get the pots working better then add much smaller amounts more often to keep the mud under control.

I have only foxtailed a couple times Jon and I'm pretty sure both times it was a genetic thing, but I couldn't stop it once it started. It was Panama Red x Malawi and both plants did it but the other 2 Haze plants were fine.

With ya @Gee64 👍
I did add less to the other 3 and it’s not so bad,
I was gunna get bigger pots and repot em, but I’m thinking with the stress their under it’s not going to be a good idea,
Hopefully I can get em through another couple of weeks 🤞🏻
Thank mate

Limp them thru Kal. All this new info will really help you out on your next grow. This one will be high maintenance to the end unfortunately, but you should still be able to get a fine harvest.

I’m using Dr Jim’s. It got the semi seal of approval from Azi. It’s very easy to work with and the worms are red wrigglers and fed the good stuff supposedly. I’ve had decent results with it. Not worm farm at home but if you gotta use bought as I do it’s the best of my four different tries so far. Fwiw

I’ve never thought to try…
The only girl I ever had foxtail on me turned out to be not only delicious, but quite potent. Coincidental I’m sure, but maybe I’ll get a repeat of that…

I've had foxtails and I'm pretty sure it was too much light. I don't like them because they are a pain to clean up for a smoke, but I found the buzz potent enough. I am curious to see where this Cream Mandarin of mine is headed under the high intensity light.
