You top the plant before the top flower develops. The result is that two nodes grow out of one and you get two main colas.

And yeah, I do top mine, but I get carried away and that’s where I get scared of the autos, I’ll top all my topped tops and she’s will flip on me

Maybe I’ll try topping my next one. I just bent these at their tops & tied ‘em down with garden ties. Apple Fritter on the right with a week to go & Fat Bastard on the left with two weeks to go. I have them in a mystery soil, so I don’t know how to feed them. That’s a Sour Diesel clone in the tent with them.

Rob those 2 lighter ones look hungry.

If your soil is fluffy and not too wet you need to feed them.

If the soil is too wet then a drydown will start the plant feeding again as oxygen can be reassimilated and the plant will now eat, and if the soil is crusty you need some calmag to tame magnesium so it releases nitrogen to green them back up.

The darker one looks gorgeous, but starvation is creeping in there too, you can see it starting.

Miss Sticky - Day 3 of Flower.

I flexed her limbs out more evenly today. She will still require a few tweaks but she's pretty much there. I spread her out circular to take up the whole tent.

Now she has another 2.5-ish weeks to stretch and fill in. Normally with 4 plants all but the apex mains would get pruned out, but I left some side branching this time. Hopefully the pot can handle it.

She has beautiful side branching off the mains.

Her crotch is close to splitting.

Next watering is going to be a very thourough one and then a day or 2 later when she's still quite damp she will get a microbial tea to power stretch. EWC, molasses, and kelp. I need to install the auto watering before she gets too big.

Miss Sticky clones - Day 21.

The new crown line is at the puck.

Not much for side roots off the main roots, but every strain grows roots differently.

I used the paper towel tube method. She's in. Equal parts EWC, The Answer Potting Soil, and perlite. No used soil, I want these to develop their own way.

I made 4 gallons in total, to which I added 5 tbsp prilled dolomite, 2 tbsp prilled gypsum, and 2 tbsp oyster shell flour, then 6 tbsp Gaia 2-8-4.

Lots of myco. 1 tbsp in each top including what got dusted onto the roots.

I layered myco in every couple inches around the outside of the tube for the roots to find.

She's already wider than her 1.6gal pot.

And then there were 2.

The side branching is still there.

I waited 1 or 2 days too long. The main growing tip of #2 got damaged by starvation a smidge. It's going to get topped anyways but still not good. Lets watch it for a few days then pinch it.

I was too knackered lol
And yeah I did the top dressings, and I sort of followed the instructions, they both say add 1tblsp to every gallon of soil, that’s over 2 of each In every pot, that seemed like quite a lot to me, so I did 2 desert spoons of each, still seemed way to much but it’s done now Lol
And I don’t know if I did the right thing in adding both aswell, I did see on the fungi one that it can be used in conjunction with others, so I thought it would be ok, still looked like a lot thou

I’m gunna try the brix thing when my ladies wake up, and see what iv done to the poor girls probably get a little hand come out the refractometer and slap me for being a div

There is a lot in here over the last couple years that we have discussed and tried and passed and failed, and the important stuff gets repeated every now and then for new folks asking, so it's a bit repetitive, but it's mostly the important basics that get repeated.

Mixing these 2 is fine Kal, but you are deficient now so you need to catch up plus feed in the future. I would stick with the recommended amounts. I add 1/2 cup every week to my 10gals.

Thanks Gee i'll be thumbing through the journal bit by bit yeah i've started my 1st winter journal for this year & have 8 different strains of autos (still looking for the perfect pain relief strains) going & still in soil actually peat but i see more & more ppl going organic & seems more user friendly than other grow media to me anyways i see Carmen & Jon trying organic with good results so just trying to broaden my horizons

And yes I will try keep on top of things now , iv got all sorts to give them, but I did notice when I watered them the day before yesterday that it was still a little crusty when I was mixing the EWC’s in, I had already made my tea to water them with, so I wasn’t sure if adding calmag to the tea was the right thing, so I didn’t, but I’m thinking next watering to give them the fish water with calmag, is it ok to mix them ?
And my lights just came on, they just seem to smell and feel better, it’s probably just wishful thinking thou lol

And the second one 9 and a little less blurry

Now iv gotta mark to go from in i, and the others I might do in a bit, hurt me hands trying to squeeze the coins with pliers in i lol,
And trying to get a photo with me phone was a nightmare so I gave up
I will try get a pic with my other phone when I try the other 2

Everything is going well, thanks for asking. Everything is well into flower and will be posting updates this weekend. No amber quite yet, so at least till mid October to week three I’m guessing at a minimum. We shall see.

Do you grow some CBD strains? Depending on the type of pain, CBD might actually be a better choice. And, if nothing else, both THC and CBD are more effective with a little bit of the other in the mix.

13-14 is pretty good considering the calcium was low, thats a great starting point

No don't mix them. If your brix are 9 and 14 then your myco is still in pretty good shape so I would give them more calcium 1st, and then next watering go with the fish. Fish water works better when calcium is good.

If low calcium is what's causing the yellowing then 1 dose of calmag can turn them around pretty quick. Improvement the next day is a real thing.
