seed. I have no idea what strain.
 
Yeah. My set up is pretty amatuerish. Had four plants. Two had balls. Now I have 2. Am starting second grow from seed. Had some seeds germinate yesterday.

A regular magnifing glass really doesn't get you close enough to get a good look. A jewlers loupe at 30x mag would work ok. But still hard.

Best bet is a cheap little portable scope. Radioshack sells them or like $10 or so.

Yup, you need at least 60x magnification. Mine is variable from 60x to 100x, I' believe that's the one RP has noted. They are pretty cheap, but they do function.

Hi everyone back awake from my fog. Hope all is well just read and caught up.

Speaking of cheap items I bought a PH meter on ebay. It was from Hong Kong. I think this may have been the source of my issues in the end of the last grow that wasn't so productive.

I calibrated the meter and for about a week double checked its readings with strips. Well I am here to say I just put my new seeds into flowering and the meter is way off. I calibrated again still off. My point is cheap stuff will ruin your grow.

Question 1 - What PH meters have you found to be effective and not such a pain in the butt? Are there any that don't cost a fortune?

Question 2 - My plants look ok just a little nute deficient from the ph but the roots are still real short. My plants are 10" after a 6 weeks veg. The roots are barely in the water. Should I be worried?

3 years ago, I started seed in soil, next to my hydro grow. 2 weeks later, my soil plants were 4 or 5 inches tall, my hydro was 12 to 14 inches tall. I tossed the soil grow out the door.

You'll have to ask a soil grower "how long?"
I don't know anything much at all about indoor soil growing..

So guys how do i start a grow journal for all Deep Water Culture to give support? I just started my SH Deep Water Culture system about a week ago...i have a forum for problems but i would like to start a journal for all yall to follow. thanks guys
