So....why don't people just put decarbed weed into capsule form to medicate? OR do they? It just a powder like substance when it's done....any thoughts on that?

I use decarb to make caps with. I warm up some olive oil, mix it with decarb to a paste, then put it into an

empty cap. You could probably use canna oil also. I'm a real lightweight so I've never tried it with canna oil

By the way, I found a thread to make larger batches of decarb.

Use a large shallow pan (sponge cake pan?),

Put enough ground up MJ into a Browning Bag to make a layer on the pan, tuck the open end under a

couple of times to seal the bag up. Lay the bag on the pan seam side down and shake to distribute evenly

Place in the middle of your oven. Turn oven on 200* for a couple of hours. Let cool in oven, unopened.

After the recent discussions on this thread regarding the dosing of edibles, I'd though you all might find this interesting - Edibles' THC Claims Versus Lab Results Surprising - it was in today's Denver Post.

Below is a chart that was included with the original DP article -

Cannabis Sweet Iced Tea recipe

What you'll need:

A harvest

A cup and 1/2 of sugar

A table spoon of ginger

A 1 gallon liquid container

Take all the sugar leaves from your harvest and about the same approximate amount of fan leafs along with the ginger & slow brew (simmer) in a large sauce pan filled with water tor about for hours. Refill the water as necessary. Let it cool for about an hour. Then put the sugar in the 1 gallon container and pour the fluid from the sauce pan in. Add as many ice cubes as it takes to fill the container half way and stir vigorously. Fill it to the top with cold water and stir again. Refrigerate...

I'd like to apologize. When I posted this recipe the first time I said a 1/2 gallon container instead of a gallon. You guys must of thought I was crazy; A cup & a half of sugar in a 1/2 gallon container.

This is my 2nd batch. It has not just sugar leafs but popcorn buds also. Woo Wee...

Hi Jaga!
Yes, I am all excited about the things I can get going in this....butter..tincture....oils. Busy busy busy. It will get used to it's maximum potential for sure. LOL

Also, someone here mentioned using Lecithin when they made their butter or oil?. I can't remember who, but other than health food stores does anyone know what regular retailer carries it? Drug stores here don't have it.
Thanks!!

You can get the Lecithin at most health stores :thumb:

I have read that the optimal temp is 240F, this turns the THCA to THC. And you need to make sure when you set your oven to 240 or 200, make sure that's what it is because most home ovens aren't exactly calibrated. Anyone here verify this info?

I can verify the 200 degrees, I used those directions and the potency is just fine.:thumb:

I put a thermometer in my oven a couple years ago to test the temp of the setting/actual. The actual was about 2 degrees less than what the digital setting showed.

Mine is electric, and it is spot on throughout several temperatures.

I checked last October. Everything I have found on decarbing says 200 :ciao:

I prefer to be zany and happy

rather than normal and bitter

You have a top of the line oven; mine fluctuates +-15*F; especially when you open the door. It is a gas (meaning flames) oven, yours electric?
Yes, I have an electric one at the moment. I hate using electric stoves, but right now my gas stove can't be used. I refuse to pay the propane thieves. Natural gas is supposed to be running in my area this year. YEYYYYYY!!!!

Good morning/ evening everyone :ciao:

I need to make some edibles this morning...but I don't feel like going to the store for ingredients :)...so what I have come up with is English muffins toasted, then spread some cannabutter on the muffins, then top with a little peanut butter for flavor. It might be gross but I'm gonna try it. Then for lunch I was thinking of making some pasta, melting some cannabutter on the pasta and adding some tomato sauce, pepper and parmesan cheese.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas please share :)

The other ingredients I have to work with are venison steaks, buffalo burgers, cod filets, chicken breast, lots of vegetables, soups, eggs, potato chips and cheese (of course :))....it's not much to work with for making edibles that's why I'm going to try the English muffins and pasta (not together :))

I'll you know how it works out :)
