Thai Stick

I dug you up some (real actual) thai stick seeds PC. Check pm. :thumb:

The male looks just as I thought it would, awesome job PC. Do you have a killer bee suit to wear while pollinating?

I picture you in there with your bee suit on- prancing around and humming a happy song. Bzzzzzz bzzzzzzz

Thanks for the PM Weaselcracker. I E-mailed them and I'm waiting for an answer.

I use a high tech pollination technique. I put the male closest to the door of the unit then slam the door almost as hard as I can :) One time I slammed it as hard as I could on my sooperlokker and my fingertips were partway in the door. That sucked. :(

Note: The flex duct attached to the fan in my 200 watt CFL unit fell off the other day and that Thai Stick father got wilted bad. It'll probably pull out of it, but it's not giving much pollen. I'll try to get some from it, but I'll never get enough to go to f5 with a Zamal Reunion cross. And I'll try to get a pic of them up tonight.

Sounds like a typical male pollination technique to me. Oh the romance!

Ok- Thai stick seeds on the way! Hopefully for you as well, PotChimp. I hope you'll plant some for this journal. I'll sprout a couple as well and you can show me how it's done:).

clone the male...

Don't need to now; I'll have more of these seeds coming soon :) Thanks, Weaselcracker! :thumb:

that is one sweet plant... you will regret it if you don't, and you can kill it whenever....

Notes: The good news is that the Thai Stick male didn't die, but the bad news is that I had to cut about 2/3 of that bodacious top cola off the Critical Jack (bud rot just starting to turn to grey mold).

bummer

I love the "high-tech" :) but? how many girls were in for pollination? When I make beans, the dude(s) get locked away in a seperate part of the house and is only a jizz donor. He doesn't get to sleep with my girls n the flower tent. I collect pollen in a baggie, Pull my select gril out of the grow room and bag her. (Put a trash bag over the whole plant, make small incision in the trashbag to expose one select branch. Place baggie over branch. shake, leave for about 30 minutes, then uncover, mist with Ph water and remove trash bag and put into flower. When they are done I get 100-300 beans from one branch withouot distrupting the rest of the grow.

Yeah, the fast yielding pheno of this Critical Jack harvests at about 8-1/2 weeks, according to the breeder. I set my flowering lights to 11.5/12.5, which puts the first hairs at a week from flip. Yesterday was 6 weeks from flip and 5 weeks from first hairs, giving this plant another 3-1/2 weeks yet. Imagine how big this would have got>>>>>

I usually put both a male and female of whatever I'm doing in my sooperlokker; it isolates them from everything else. I've had a few cross-pollinations I didn't want to happen before, so I'm paranoid about pollen. :)

You're most welcome. Kinda fun playing virtual puppetmaster -emailing some guy at a seedbank in Spain, who finds some Thai Stick seeds in the fridge, and mails us out some , and hopefully I get to watch them grow up in the journal.

So did the critical jack get the anti-mold sulphur treatment?

Bummer about jack, she was stacking up nicely. I was jarring part of my CBD harvest yesterday and inspection revealed a few spots. All in all I lost about an oz, not horrid and I'll cook it down for lotion stuffs. It's so humid here right now though too. I was almost thinking of taking my Colombian a little sooner in fear of it but I also need some room for my neglected pineapple skunk.

That Critical Jack did get the sulfur treatment, but the rest of the process is about keeping growing conditions under control until harvest. In the Spring where I'm at the humidity is bad (I can't get below 60% rH in my grow units, and grey mold thrives under high humidity like that), so unless I want to spend more dough on electricity I'm going to have to grow mold resistant strains this time of year. That top cola actually only had an area where 3 of the big nugs that make up the main cola were bad, but I decided to cut lower than the rotted area out. I probably lost close to a half oz. though.

I have the same problem. I live in some sort of naturally humid situation. RH in the room has been getting in the 80s for years and sometimes 90s when I flush or water everything. I top to keep buds smaller, and scrog, keep movement fans going, and always walk the borderline of worrying about mold if buds gets 'too big'. Just got a small 300w dehumidifier so I'm hoping that saves me. I'd never heard of the sulphur thing before but it sounds like it's not a miracle cure

That actually would have spread worse if it wasn't for the treatment I think. I'm going to do another sulfer burn in my C4DD grow in about a week and a half and hopefully we won't have another all Summer long wet season here again like last year. As it gets to Summer, if it gets dry outside my problem should be solved.

I didn't think you could use it still I've been cutting the rotted part off and putting the rest in with my trim to make kief with :)

I didn't think you could either until I was messing around with some, came on here and asked 420 Motoco. In short I froze it and some iso, then did the whole process to make it a concentrate, I didn't just cook it in something. He stated that mold exposed to 150 degrees for two hours would be neutralized. In the end being completely safe for topical use. I believe at one point he even stated it would be safe for tacking as well but would taste horrible, I wouldn't go there though, lotions good enough. :)

It's very humid here this time of year as well. I even have a 45 pint dehumidifier running non-stop at lights off, when the lights kick on and warm up they maintain the humidity under 50 usually. I might be moving things into a tent soon though too, have had some minor flooding issues that might require a rebuild of my veg room, have to see but I have been putting it off a little. :)
