Thai Stick

i have been interested, for a long time, in ceres seeds "fruity thai". looks, and sounds great. they mention a "great retro flavor". this has my attention. i have never smoked it. or grown it. maybe one day. if i live that long.

Not sure what I was really reading in the last 14 pages of knowledge... All I can say is mind blown..... Quite a step above the Punnett squares that I learned once upon a time. This whole genetics things is definitely going to take some time and grasping to truly get the hang of but with strains like Thai no doubt that it will be worth it in the long run. Sucks to get the males from it but when life give you lemons....... PAINT THAT SHIT GOLD!!

The night before last I saw pollen on the leaf of the male Thai Stick plant, so I think it will happen in time. The light cycle doesn't come on until night so I can't take pics right now. I'm going to put something under the plant to catch its pollen tonight.
The Critical Jack is thick, but the light cycle on that one is at night too. It looks like it's going to give me the biggest main cola I've grown so far.

Didn't get that pic of the Thai Stick/GDP pollination, but I saw red hairs on the GDP and white cracks in some of its calyxes. Here's that Critical Jack :)

I hope you get a strong sativa strain that grows big buds like a indica.
the perfect combo, in my opinion.

I too am hoping to make my own strain. im currently growing white rhino and blue dream. I really want the blue dream to be male.
I need seeds.
that seems so backwards to me. in the 80's we would scoff at the buds that had seeds. I haven't seen a seed in a long time. now im actually focused on making some.

anyways,
ill be taking notes.

thanks for sharing.

I've done a few pollinations before, and I've noticed things about the mother. When I see the seed pods swell up and a few hairs turn brown prematurely, I know pollen hit that nug and a seed is forming there. Shortly after that the swollen pod will get a white crack in it, which develops into the seed. I didn't capture what I'm talking about very good in these pics, but here they are:

The Thai Stick plant is pretty:

It doesn't have a lot of flowers, so it's going to be difficult to collect pollen. It is dumping it, though:

Critical Jack:

Got a little nute burn going on.

I understand that to be "just the right amount" ... keep those tips toasty :cheesygrinsmiley:

The male looks just as I thought it would, awesome job PC. Do you have a killer bee suit to wear while pollinating? :cheesygrinsmiley:
