Thai Stick

Thai Stick pollen:

I'm trying to guess-timate when I can start this next Thai Stick plant. I have a flowering unit opening up in about 5 weeks so I can probably start it in a day or two. I'm going to pollinate a single branch of the Thai Stick female with this pollen (to have seeds of this for the future). I want to see what the f1s look like from this GDP x Thai Stick, so I'll do one of them along with it. I'll chop that plant in a few days; the seeds are ready now. I'm still not sure about the third plant I'll be doing with those two. It'll be either OG Kush - Ghost cut or C-99 (both from Dr. G). Post more pics soon.

Hey P.C. I get confused as to when to just put a seed in the ground:passitleft:Damm that is a bit of a hard one to work out:Love:
I have to admit as well that when I was offline I miss what's going on an :smokin2:with a memory problem like I have these daze:hmmmm:I guess I have to just bite the Bullet and ask what is the program with the Pollen and good work :goodjob: I remember seeing the weaselcracker I think an he was chatting with you about it :thumb:
I did actually want to say then hey Mr Chimp was up wit the Pollen gig:high-five:I would love to know an that's the truth I was to silly to ask before:thumb:
Have a great day brother:circle-of-love::Love::circle-of-love:

I've got 3 grow tents in flower now, and the soonest one of those will be open enough to put new plants in is about 5 weeks away. I should start my new seeds now so they'll be ready by then. I'm going with a Thai Stick seed, one of the GDP x Thai Stick seeds I just did, and one of my own seeds I bred out from that Chem D project (instead of the C99 or OG Kush Ghost cut I mentioned above). I'm going to try to pick female seeds using a method posted on Graytail's journal.
The Thai Stick pollen above is so that I can have pollen from something stable to use for a few things. One is what I did already (the GDP cross), another is to selectively pollinate a single branch on the Thai Stick female (to have my own Thai Stick seeds), and another is to do my first cross with my stabilized seeds from my breeding project.
I've got room in one of my veg closets to start the 3 seeds, but I have to wait for my soilless mix delivery this coming week to do anything. I'll post pics when I do it.
P.S.: I'm smoking a blunt of that Critical Jack right now it's decent grass halfway through it I got a pretty good buzz. :thumb:

I smoked a joint of roachweed before that, though.

Note: I picked a Thai Stick seed with a well defined crater and started germination today. I also picked a GDP x Thai Stick seed with a well defined crater and did the same (I picked a third seed with a crater from the strain I bred out myself to try to test this crater theory and I'll grow it along with these two). I'll post pics when they start growing. :)

Note: The Thai Stick seed is open and in the soilless mix along with the Chem D cross seed. I'm on my second GDP x Thai Stick seed; the first one didn't open up and form a tail. Day two into this second seed and I'm getting hit with recall about using pair of pliers and cracking the hard-as-a-coconut shells before putting them in the wet paper towel (I had to do that with the seeds from both GDP x GDP crosses I did when I tried to germ them). I got the shell on this second seed to come apart, and the embryo (?) is in direct contact with the wet paper towel. I'll crack another seed before I germ it if this one doesn't take. I'll also deseed the nugs (they're dry enough now) so I have more and better seeds to choose from. Oh, and I'm running 18/6 for now under four 24 watt T5 bulbs; I'll probably go to 14/10 in 3 weeks or so. Post pics soon.

Man getting that shell to break in half was like doing surgery, but I got a tail to grow out of that last GDP x Thai Stick seed:

I'm worried that it's not going to take because of the slight browning of the root tip. I wanted to wait until the cotylendons shed the other half of the shell to put it in the soil, but I may go ahead because of that tip. Post pics soon.

Notes: I'll get pics up when these are big enough to see, but they're alive. The Thai Stick seedling is weak; the cotylendons are yellow and opening up slowly; I'm not 100% sure it's going to be okay. The GDP x Thai Stick is doing good so far. The seedling from that Chem D cut I bred out has a stretch to it, but it'll be okay.
I put these on 11.5/12.5 now to try to keep their size down; it worked okay for these Thai Stick plants before.

I got a little one growing as well PC. The first seed refused to sprout. The seedling I have going seems pretty wimpy but I'll let it do it's thing and hopefully it will toughen up.

I had to take a few GDP clones and repot 4 clones today, which I put in with the 3 seedlings. The Thai Stick seedling opened up some more and the GDP x Thai Stick has the first leaves, so I think the roughest is over. :thumb:

Note: They're all alive but the Thai Stick seedling is growing slowly. I put them under a 200 watt blue spectrum CFL set at 11.5/12.5 yesterday, which should help them out a lot. I can put the bulb just above it to eliminate the stretch I'm seeing in the other two seedlings. I'll get a pic up tonight when the lights come on.

Rough going here :(
Notes: The GDP x Thai Stick is doing well, the Thai Stick plant has a weak root system and is alive but not well (it falls over, maybe from stem rot beneath the soil). And my Phuggen Shruntal Cortex turned out to be a male, the first in about 8-10 seeds checked for craters that did:

I planted another PSC seed today to make up for that culled male (it had a well defined crater too). I'll keep everybody posted.
