Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

I'm not leaving that porch till I get an alligator po-boy.

I don't usually deliver to the porch, but I'm certain a gator po-boy is within easy walking distance. If you wanna drive, you can do some gator gumbo.
They to 'gator on a stick' at all the little local fests... 1/2inch thick strips of grilled gator on a skewer. I've been a fan of it as a savory little treat for many years.

New Orleanians will devour most any food. One can even find Nutria for sale.
While I tend to steer clear of the more creative choices, I remember that Crawfish fell into that same category right up until the instant I tried one.

OK kids... hang on... this is a complete update.
It's starting to be actual work to do feedings. I went thru a full 5gal of water.

So, my blooming Critical+2.0 was getting too tall. I had to bend her. Bent her more than I planned. I've seen it in other grows and I'm sure she'll be fine.

Looking fine as wine there Tead! Certainly have your hands full. BTW thanks for stopping by my journal, all help is greatly appreciated. :thanks:

I got a call at one this morning from Baton Rouge, looks like I'll be heading that way. Not sure on the date , will keep you up to date, going to have me crawl in your "Cave". :volcano-smiley: maybe I'll just stand out here... :smokin:  me some Big Easy ....later, running back to my journal and see if anyone else has put thier two cents into my questions...

I generally steer clear of nute questions unless they're hempy babies... then I'm all over it.
Lemme know when you plan to stroll by in person. I'll be sure to arrange some proper entertainment for you.

Depending on when you come out I might be able to swing through for the pow wow.

The girls are looking lovely Tead. It's one thing to see them on here, but it's a completely different thing to see them in person and realize all the factors you are having to overcome to get them to the finish line. Beautiful plants, excited to see what comes of the girls once this heat and humidity let up for good.

Yowsa.... a 420 party in NOLA!
I'll get a double barreled welcome mat.

Thanks BN! It's not pretty, but I do what I can with the pieces available. I might not run it thru the summer next year. Previous summers I've kept the plants going in the veg tent on low light and AC fed directly into the tent, then started back up when the temps break. This has been the first summer I've run it straight thru the heat.

Everything in my garden is 'coming up roses'. It's just been crazy good with like 7 different strains going and jungle action occurring in both veg and bloom areas. Even my damn cloning game is spot on. Outdoor temps are in the upper 80's instead of 90's and that's just the break I needed to turn on more lights. The garden itself still peaks out at ~95f, but the plants can handle that for a few hours without too much impact and the increased lumens have really made the veg room fast.

Additionally, I'm sitting on a significant stack of genetics from various seed orders and some gifts. I gotta get some Northern Lights going for a buddy.

I'm certain there's some sort of bad twist in my near future, but I'm riding high on the waves at the moment!
Well... except for my jealousy regarding your recent harvest.... but I'll get over it.

ya honestly if i was you i would be severely lost cause i don't think i could run that many different strain and not end up killing them lol. Your garden is looking awesome i can definitely see everything is flowing right for ya! As far as getting those tall hempy girls shorter you could (if you can handle a little set back in veg) cut them a couple nodes down from the top then drill some holes in the top of the hempy and tie her down (or weight down the branches if you dont feel like drilling) thats basically what i did to big sally and you saw how bushy she got (granted i recommend flowering sooner then i did if you want em squat lol) just a thought though.

Lush and happy Tead. Supercropping was the right choice with that critical. I have been experimenting with some umbrella type bends this grow. I let my plants get vertical in veg and then bent the branches down in a curve like an umbrella. The curve shape helped the opposing branches not split at the trunk. And it kept tips lower at the start of flowering. So the buds in the middle are filling out nicely. I used the stretchy plastic ties to do it. Put some eye loops into that PVC and it might work for you. A true lazymans method. I am trying to get as close to an even canopy with minimum training.

Ya know... I totally put a hole in the top of the pvc to anchor the wire.
I've been growin the OGKs that really don't have much need of such techniques... more the big spears. I had forgotten what monsters my previous Critical+ was, and this new version is even more monstrous. I see much tying in my near future. The Pineapple Chunk seems to spread itself out ok without tying, but I got a lot of other strains in the chute and many copies of the Critical+2.0 growing as I write this.

It's been a day or 30 since I've seen your garden.... off to peek.

I could spread them all out, but I just don't have the room. If I go into that mode, I could really only do 2 plants in the bloom room and 2 in the veg tent. I think I'm shooting for a mix of balance training techniques and creative timing. I kind of have a broad set of plant shapes and sizes in the veg tent... I'm hoping I can create a mix to keep the bloom room at maximum 'fullness' at all times.
Balance.... balance and luck.... a lot of luck.

So, I've been eyeing Weas's PH experiment. God bless ya Weas.... it's hard to run any actual experiments in small spaces.

It dawns on me... I've got a little unintentional experiment going. 3 clones from the same C+2.0 mother plant. One fed normally with my DynaGro nutes. One in a 2L but bottle fed as well. The last is an OsmoGirl.

3 identical girls in 3 different configurations all started at the same time. Good times!

Random daily thoughts....

So.... 2Ls... yeah... I think I'm digging them all around. I believe the time may be at hand to do all new plants in 2L's.
The size allows for relatively large amounts of plants. Since I generally want smaller plants anyway, I see no need for the larger containers. I've not run into any root issues using them.
Yup... the time has come.

This hempy I did was close to the 2lt size, just more shallow. I had no root problems that I could see. I keep thinking of how many I could get in a small space It means I'd have to figure out how to work nutrients better than just tossing it at the plants though, wouldn't it? Do you think it'd matter if the pots were shallow and wider rather than taller and slimmer?

Yay! The day finally came! I been waiting for you to see the light lol! That SOG thread got ya thinking didn't it lol.

WP_20160128_02_39_45_Pro.jpg

Tead you should remember when i was growing like this right? These were like 1.5L containers and i never ran into root issues, its all about keeping veg shorter but i find that acceptable since your growing for bud not leaf matter. As im sure you have noticed you can veg a little as well. This was my first bit of testing with the SOG style like that journal i just screwed up the timing otherwise i would have had 5 rows of 3 plants. Its what im hoping to get right this time lol.
