The mix she's in already has a load of Osmocote+ in it. I doubt she'll continue to thrive, but I had to give it a try with a new plant after the last one died.

Here's a bonus shot of the Pineapple Chunk. I'm diggin her.

May the little one thrive and grow flowers that knock you out. :battingeyelashes:

Question: how long do you wait before advancing to the next level of nute strength? How many waterings do you watch?

Ya know... it's more of an art than a schedule for me. I usually advance by 1/4tsp increments. On average, I'd say I bump it by 1/4tsp every 1.5 weeks. Of course, I draw outside those lines pretty frequently.
I try to do feedings in the morning. That gives me a chance to watch them for signs of overfeeding. The signs will show up very quickly in hydro.

I use rainwater and I have a 20 gallon barrel of it in the veg room. I add cal mag to this at 3-5 ml/gallon then balance the ph to 5.7 (ish). Ph at this point isn't super important because the mixture is so weak and doesn't have much ability to sway the ph of the growing medium.
Anyway... Because the calmag contains nitrogen, it's all I really need to keep young plants going till they have a few nodes and leaves. When they start gaining size and looking hungry I start adding some grow. It's pretty slapdash.

Thank you both for your responses. I have cal/mag, and I'd forgotten all about it. How often should one use this product?

Tead :)

I was reading along and read your hedge trimmer post and thought wow! He must be growing g some mammoth buds to need one of them! :)

Oh man... wouldn't that be wonderful!
Unfortunately, it's really just heavy work in the sun related. We can grow things quick down on the gulf coast and I have a rental property that's bordered by undeveloped land mostly resembling a jungle. Hell.... I gotta go pick up a chainsaw this weekend, but the hedge trimmer chewed thru tons of smaller stuff and made chopping up the cut stuff for black bags really easy and quick.

Clipped a small bud this morning from my OGK. I was enjoying how pretty she was... thought I'd share some bud porn.

And this is how OGK is SUPPOSED to look! Are you growing these outdoors?

The next hempy pot in the making. Schedule 40 6" PVC. I cut a 1.5ft piece... and I kinda feel it may be too long. It's about as tall as a 5gal bucket.

A six inch diameter hempy? Is that big enough to make any difference between a hempy and a regular 6" pot?

I'm doing a touch of experimentation with the taller form factor. You can't usually find 6" pots that are 1.5' tall.

Nope... 400w HPS.
I've seen you speaking of your OGK woes on your thread. Happy I don't have the same issues. I've been growing the same cloned OGK strain for a very long time now.

I see the logic in taller hempys, to accommodate the roots, so they don't wrap themselves around the pot. My ladies sure like the tall kitchen trash cans (24" 13 gallons) I transplanted them to. I even got more growth out of my poor OGK clones.

If I get a chance, or if I can ground layer one of my last OGK ladies, I will put them under the LED and see if I can get a better leaf structure out of the clones.
