Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

No worries. I never read back. You're not offending anyone at all. We just had to register the fun.
Wait 'til I get started on food. Hmmm..... I think I have some ribs that need smokin.

Here we go again with the food! Lmao!

I know sorry guys... It's just I had all these ideas and needed to know NOW!! I do usually read before I jump in but I was on a roll yesterday and have already decided to experiment a bit next round..
Cheers!

You do know you're talking to the most laid-back crew on this street, right? Lol! We don't take offense and I, for one, am always surprised to hear someone actually read through one of my journals. :laughtwo:

So, did I read that correctly? You're going to test the hempy waters next grow?

Tead....baby..... You're good buddy. :high-five:

Did you get a good laugh at the ruckus at my yard when they saw the picture of the nutes? I anticipated that from Duggan. Cy caught me off guard. I guess it was a bit disconcerting to see the champion of organic soils playing with hydro. :laughtwo: I don't know about you, but I like keeping everyone just a little off balance. It keeps life on the exciting side of the street to stir it up every now and then. Screw mediocrity.

Cheers, Tead and Sue! Always try to read as much as I can or at least look at photos.. But at a point with 70-odd(??) subs and I can't keep up again! i know you guys probably subbed to hundreds... I'd go nuts!
Still, feel a bit guilty pulling the newb move and demanding answers to questions I KNOW have been asked somewhere back.. Like I said; after talking about passive hydro elsewhere the other day, then in the space of a few hours surfing yesterday I found all this stuff... Then came here.. Just got the juices flowing, so to speak...
Since I posted those questions I decided I will give hempy a crack; just looks too easy to not give it a go. So yeah I'm gonna do one plant hempy with bought nutes, one hempy with my nutes (combo of teas, crushed fert pellets into teas, and a great commercial EWC brew I found locally) and one soil to compare. Assuming my beans all pop, of course..
Cheers again, guys! Glad I stumbled here!

Really man don't sweat it i have probably asked tead the same questions a dozen times lol we are lazy over here that is why we grow hempy lol and im glad you are gonna give it a spin!

Lexort has a point. We really are lazy gardeners. That's why I grow in LOS no-tills and Doc's Kit. Lol!

Huh! I have three different mediums in my grow, and they all three cater to lazy gardeners. :laughtwo:

Completely hilarious! Stir that gumbo baby!

Tead, I just clicked now where I recognise the "food" stuff.. You and Weasel on UncleCannabis's thread..?? Big BBQ thing where you live.. I can relate to that, cobber.. You like prawns?

I'm not a fan of prawns, but living on the Gulf of Mexico we sure do have a good bit of seafood on all the local menus. One of our favorite local treats are Crawfish... little mudbugs that grow in the brackish swamp water. One of the very best meals in town is a backyard Crawfish boil where all your friends are drinking beer and sucking down mudbugs is a social/dining experience that simply can't be properly shared in words.
Damn... gotta go get the smoker started... them ribs ain't gonna cook themselves!

Haven't eaten them for a while now.. A crawfish is a Yabby here.. Used to pump em out of mangrove swamps..
These are Bugs. Slipper lobster - Wikipedia Moreton Bay Bugs. Garlic, butter, barbie.. Die happy.

Yeah, man.. I grew up in the tropics, so I was lucky to grow up on prawns, mud crabs, reef fish.. Reef sharks are great eating. Prawns are hard work but worth it bbq'd on fresh bread and mayo, white pepper.. I won't suck heads but I'll eat the whole tail. Crispy!
Shit; got the seafood munchies now! Mite have to go get some tomorrow..

While I'm in the backyard smokin, I noticed that the minions have really gained some body mass. They must be well fed.

How are your girls holding up with the heat tead? I wanted to also ask because I forgot but did you manage to sprout one of them seeds you ordered?

I was just reading through Docbud's hempy journal and I am pretty sure i just saw the beginning of your hempy journey lol. Hope all is well with ya tead!

Geez... time to visit your thread Tead... not to mention plenty of others.

Let's see.... Betty gets first love of course... (inside=flower outside=veg)

This is a 3gal girl earlier on, but still pretty. She's in the post-fireworks hairy head stage.

And then there's my problem child... she's dead.
Crit+2.0 sprouted in pure perlite. Repotted to a 2L pot with 40g of Osmocote plus.
Could be a tough replant that did her in. More likely a hot mix.
Not sure what to make of it. Perhaps Osmo is best used with clones that can take a higher mix.
IMAG16002.jpg

I'm gonna try an experiment sprouting a seed in a Osmo mix. Perhaps a seed sprouted in that environment can survive.

How are your girls holding up with the heat tead? I wanted to also ask because I forgot but did you manage to sprout one of them seeds you ordered?

I did get sprouts using perlite alone (above). Other methods failed. I'm totally sure it's a heat symptom. In the winter, the tables are flipped and the perlite cloning and sprouting doesn't work.
AC and the new interior shed configuration have really been working well. The bloom room hasn't gone over 84 in the last week and the veg tent has stayed under 90. I need to find the time and energy to improve that configuration and drop those temps even more.

I was just reading through Docbud's hempy journal and I am pretty sure i just saw the beginning of your hempy journey lol.

I'll have to go back and dig those words again. I was trying it along with a few others. Fun times.

Off to visit long ignored threads run by fine humans that deserve more discussion than I've currently been able to provide.

Your girls are looking good! (Minus the sprouts bummer about that) glad the temps haven't been an issue for ya i been wondering about that. Your journal title isn't exactly accurate anymore lol. Im glad you came back!
