Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Yep, looks like a girl with 35-40 days left (if she were a hybrid or indica dom photoperiod.) Nicely done.
That's a big hempy pot :)

I'm going to try a hempy, I'd rather not add height for water to climb on my first hempy grow.

I was going to start a Carnival in the hempy, but I forgot and put my rooted clone into a soil pot Friday.
I took another Carnival cutting yesterday for the hempy pot.

What water PH would y'all recommend for a perlite hempy with osmocote+ ?

I shoot for 5.5. That's worked well for me in the past.

Man, you sure give up alot of height with that PVC pipe. Woodn't something wider and shorter help for people that have to grow in tents? Not taking anything from that plant,,, pretty plant.. Hope she's screamer smoke... Keepem Green

You've been awfully quiet around here lately buckaroo. Everything ok? :battingeyelashes:

Yea.... I'm not so much diggin the 24" pot. Trying things... ya know what I mean? I think it may be well suited for an outdoor auto... as soon as the weather breaks I'll kick that tire.

OK enough... just riding a bit of a funk. Summer is really draggin on me this year. It's been really long. We had a break for a week with some low temps down to 70, but the heat descended again.
I dunno. I need a change of some sort. Some steady work would be good... there has been little construction work lately. I could get really drastic and make a change of geographic situation... it really just needs to happen sooner rather than later. To be brutally honest, due to some medical issues, I thought my sweetie would be physically waning at this point in time. I had planned to make a move when my baggage had decreased. This has not turned out the way I planned and she's still going very strong.
Dark ehh?

Let's end this ramble with some root shots of the UD1 in 12L 6" round 24" tall PVC.

Ok, I get it. I guess to someone else that might have been dark, but this is me. :laughtwo:

Good to see you poke your head out.

I pulled the air conditioner from the bedroom window last week, figuring the fall temps had decended here, only to be putting it back in the window last night after sweltering through upper 80s in both temp and humidity yesterday, then realizing it was slated to get even hotter through the week. I'm ready for the seasonal change too.

Waiting on my safety inspector so I can get my plants back where they belong. This hiding everything can be maddening. :laughtwo:

You can use a smaller wider bucket and train them to be squatier. Think of a kings crown. Look back at my last pic posted. I don't expect that plant to be any taller than 50cm at harvest.
However you lose space in your footprint, so you get less plants.

I use to use them red plastic Folgers coffee cans or a mini DWC setup. Bet they wood be perfect for a smaller plant? Alot of options to play with. I just don't know if I'd want to go taller,,, must be hard to keep them from tipping over? Looking foreward to seeing whats what in the gardens...

hmmm.... you unmount your ac in the winter.... interesting idea. We all keep them in year 'round. Still running ours all day. Dancing with mid to upper 80s. Tead could sure use a break. Perhaps the change will hit before the beasties hit the world in cheesy costumes... I hate to see the youngins sweating in a Batman cape.

I grew in round red pots for a long time. Dug one up just the other day and put a plant in one.
I like the PVC for footprint reasons, but they lack room to spread roots out. I'm trying to get a feel for differences from the growing containers, but space is a constant challenge.

Hey man, I know the geography isn't much different, but there's always a spare bed here. Perfect timing to come see your girls get started on 12/12!

We had a great time BN. Thanks for sharing your spare bedroom for a night!
You're right, similar geography, but it's just nice to get out of town and spend time with nice folk.

Ya know... they're surprisingly stable... but not stable enough to leave outside in the wind without some support. I've just been putting some bricks around the base.... no fallen plants so far.

And then there's the garden....

Veg tent clicking right along.

Not using the bloom room. Outdoor highs have dropped from upper 90's to upper 80's. Plenty cool enough to grow some ladies.
Some urban camouflage to hide the girls. They're surprisingly hard to spot if you're not looking for them.

I had another visit from the mites....

The mites were the trigger to move outdoors.

mites = headache

Good to see you. That UD looking sweet to me. I need to work on some soil sometime today.

:bongrip:

Ya know... I fucked up with a mite spray job and some sunlight. I kinda gave up on fighting them in the bloom room and just moved it all outside and the mites disappeared overnight. They really don't like it outside apparently.

I used a sulfur and pyretherin mix.... it gave a few plants the serious taste of matches. Completely unsmokable. Never gonna touch sulfur again.

Glad you're back, man :)

A little peek into Tead's world this morning.

The veg tent. Mostly holding small ladies. I'm going to cut clones and boost the numbers this evening.

The bloom room is now running as a veg tent as well. Larger ladies in here.

Some looks at a OGKxUD1 that I've named 'Ox'. It was an accidental pollination from a hermie.
I've been smoking on an early harvest. It's pretty damn good. Just rains keef into the lower grinder chamber. The UDs didn't do this but the OGKs do, so I'm happy. All in all, it seems much more OGK post-harvest.

I am not used to seeing things looking so sparse inside! The weather does lend to some nice outside time for the older girls though. That OGK needs to be crossed, it's an absolute bush! With it's nice resin production it definitely makes a desirable mate. I got some in the drying chamber right now.

The OGK is quite bushy. The cross with UD thins out some and has a spike but seems to have a similar leaf and rains into the keef chamber.

Sank 5 various seeds this morning and a clone into a bucket.
Good lookin clone at 3 weeks.

Sweet roots Tead. :high-five: Methinks I should give them three weeks instead of two. I transplanted two with much smaller roots today, but I know they'll be fine in their pots. The roots are inside that 8" from the bottom, so they'll get all the nutrient-rich water they need.

You know what? Hempy has turned out to be my favorite medium so far. Thank you for being so good at what you do at it enticed me. I sure am glad we met.
