Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

I got an email from Ace saying they have put out an auto strain now. Weird. But I guess if I ever wanted to grow an auto it would be worth a try. Auto Malawi x Northern Lights Feminized - Featured

What's SSDC stand for?

Super Silver Haze x Devil's Crack
I did the math on them this morning.... 76 days from seed to scissors. Pretty damn nice in my book!
You'll not find them in a seedbank... they're some private stock from a growin buddy.

Well.... that sure seems logical. You're a fan of the Malawi and NL has been a historical winner.
Words from Ace about the strain....
The colas of the very high yielding sativa/indica phenotypes usually require support in late flowering due to the huge volume and weight they reach at the end of flowering.

Do ya need another mess in your garden? Obviously not something you're afraid of... just sayin. On the other hand, we run the mess plants knowing the pain, and it sure doesn't stop me.

Sweet Seeds Dark Devil Auto x Mephisto Sour Crack = Sweet & Sour Devil's Crack... or so I've been told. :)

Well, this certainly looks interesting. I have that open closet dedicated to autos. Hmmmmm..... I was looking forward to running a full-out ACE photo someday. I have everyone hooked on Carnival. I need to increase harvest totals so I can play more.

Rifleman....Sweet & Sour Devil's Crack. That's a name I'll have to get into the garden someday. I'm getting ready to start the Devil's Carnival, hoping one turns out to be a photo. The tempting strains are increasing in number.

Wow! I just got hit with a wave of berry-scented fuel from the DDA ready to harvest in the corner. :thedoubletake: Still waiting for her to flush cloudy. She's taking forever, creeping up on 90 days. Prettiest pair of flowering beauties I've grown yet.

So, I counted plants this morning... 13 each veg and bloom. I could squeeze both a touch more... maybe to 15 each.

And, for the record, I believe summer has officially landed... this was about 6:30a outdoor way in the shade running a 24hr high/low.

And another thing... 76 days... that's pretty damn impressive. When you consider that part of their genetics is DDA... and the DDAs seem much slower. Plus, 70g from one pot.
Yup.... really diggin the SSDCs.

The quickness is from the sour crack. Given the room (dwc) they have the Mephisto structure too, only larger. :)

I can see in the veg area, but do you really want the flower room that crowded in the swamplands we call NOLA? Wouldn't that be courting disaster? :battingeyelashes:

They look great though Tead. :high-five: The spaces have really grown up this year, eh? I feel the heat here too, though not as intense. Opened up my one tent and it's running 86 when lights came on. This tent's going to force me to install an air conditioner in that room.

86.... pishah. amateur. Come dance in the 90s with me and my outdoor shed.

I think the bloom room photo may be a bit misleading. Perhaps the angle I had to take it from. When one looks down, one finds things quite spacious with plant positions really optimized (like a damn puzzle!) to provide light at all levels without blocking. It's a bit of a tricky dance when I water and then fit everything back in, but it's quite roomy and I would need 2 more plants to officially call it 'squeezed'. I put new plants to the outside as they shift from veg to bloom, and they work their way to the center as the mature.
All in all, everything has a very natural flow to it with individual parts working with each other in a timing dance that really has settled nicely into a 'rut'... a rut that produces 1 harvest/wk with some bonus ones.

I'm hoping for just such a 'rut'. Working out the scheduling now. If I'm not careful my enthusiasm gets away from me and I'll plant too many at once. On Sunday the Candy Cane gets moved to her finish pot and I'm thinking it might be time to start the next hempy, Thin Mint Cookies. When the oldest CBD Critical cure comes down next week I'll be into the flow I'm looking for, with one big pot in each tent. This leaves a couple corners in each to drop some hempy pots into.

It's the flow I'm trying to catch, and I keep getting logjammed. I admire the way you have yours flowing. I'm getting closer. The clones seem to be falling into a happy pattern. The major strains are set. It's playtime now. What would SweetSue like to see growing? :battingeyelashes: It's gonna be crazy if I start out producing my soil with hempies won't it? Lol!

For me, it was just a matter of keeping the clone train going which fed everything else in turn. Clones allow one to easily toss a plant when things get 'logjammed'. When you add the quick 2L format into the equation, it leads to a really heavy input stream of fresh clones and babies.
But that's a flow I've had going for a long time now and I know that dance well. I see it as the foundation upon which everything else rides. I had a really easy winter for my clone program too... so everything is just flowing well.

I sure wish I knew someone around me that needed clones. I'm tossing about 50% of them. I'd turn down the knob on the clone machine, but as the foundation, I like to keep it strong at all times. Perhaps it's time to adjust that knob a touch.

I'm definitely the lazy gardener. How does your perlite system work? Is a drip system, or E&F or quasiDWC? Details please?

The entire garden is 2L soda bottles made into Hempy pots. Hempy is a passive drain to waste hydro system that one can use in a hot environment that would normally preclude the use of active hydro methods.
Basically, one puts a small hole near the bottom of a growing container of some sort (2Ls in my case). This creates a small res in the bottom of the container and the water wicks up thru the mix between waterings taking the nutrients with it.
Easy. Stupid easy if you use an Osmocote+ nutrient regime.

Alrighty... I meant to do this yesterday, but life occurred.
We've been speaking of the flow lately. I took some shots to talk about it.

First, the clones. They're super easy for me. Clones like warm wet air.... I got that in spades baby! I don't even cover them... just cut 'em, coat them with a touch of Rootone, and plunk them into a perlite hempy bucket. Of course, this only works when your humidity stays above 60% and your temps around 80f.
Here you can see a little pot of 4 clones hanging out in a darker corner of the veg tent.

After they come out of the clone pot, I put them in individual 2Ls with their final Osmo nutrient load.
Here you can see the little children all lined up on a shelf about 8" high down the side of the veg tent.
DSCN49684.JPG

After they get too big for the shelf, they hit the main tent floor to progress thru their teen years.
DSCN49703.JPG

After the teens age a bit, they move into the bloom room. You can see how the plants that are just changing gears are all arranged on the outside with maturing girls center mass to allow them to suck up all photons available.

Of course, the waves in Tead's SOG crash upon the blades of my scissors next, but I don't feel the need for photos from there on out.
