Don't the ladies look nice outside!

Much work still to do, but this forms a nice milestone.

I like the way you laid out the shed.

The open outside door shows only a hallway: good for privacy, good for temperature and insect management.

The hallway can be used for 'shed' type storage as needed.

At the end of all hall is your little patio with doors opening on both the veg and bloom rooms: A place where you can repot, mix nutrients, or toke.

It's always a good day when you see your girls outside, but even when I was surrounded by forest with a legal grow, it was a risk that I kept to a minimum.

Ok folks... Tead removed 1 layer of 'Jacklegedness' today...

The scene of the crime.... old inner grow shed removed. Shed contents spread hither and yon. Oh look.... I see the pup is supervising.

That's a beautiful set up :bravo:

Congratulations! I think their time out in the sun did wonders by the way. Sun has light spectrums or frequencies that can't be easily replicated for grow lights!

Hey brother everything is looking great over here! Do you have much more your wanting to fix up?

Thats a pretty cool setup. I like it.. Even in your summer? Whats it peak in there temps? Keepem Green

Awesome set up, Tead! I am sure your neighbors know EXACTLY what you're growing, now that you've laid out your "dirty laundry"!

I was surely airing things out ehhh? Nothin like swingin your secrets in the wind.

I think you actually pointed out most of the goodness. Oh.... yea, the other 1/2 of the shed belongs to the Mrs. for her storage needs.... until I expand again.
Believe it or not, the plants were hiding in a nook that prying eyes couldn't observe. That's true with my shed entrance as well... tho one neighbor up high has a view... I keep her well smoked out.

Thanks baby! It's been a long time coming.
I hadn't seen the "Spookies" moniker in like... forever. Been gone? Perhaps our paths have just been divergent.

Outer skin (black plastic) still needs application. Venting is still barely functional... gotta get that back together. I think the power balance is off (2 circuits) and needs to be shifted around some.
Gettin there tho. Of course, the primary next step is to fill up all that empty square footage!

My #1 challenge baby! U-G-L-Y!
Let's see.... outside temps bump up around 90f-100f during the heat. The UV from the sun just cooks that oven harder. The metal shed interior will boost up to 120f-130f without ventilation. The fans drop that some, but not much help with the oven's turned up to max.
The AC keeps everything down to decent numbers.... usually under 90f... but it's still a mighty warm and moist world.

Aluminum foil tape works wonders for canceling light leaks. Also, if you're up to the task, you can greatly chill your inlet air if you bury some pipe in the ground and run it in from the floor. Great use of space though! I love DIY stuff!

Not an inch of space wasted haha. Are you worried your yield will be less due to inadequate light coverage? Or have you calculated the average wattage per plant and your not worried.

With all the fluctuations, I almost overlooked this one... bad form Tead!
Welcome 'round dropcroptop! It's a friendly place... sometimes with food. Whatcha growin?

I've rolled all the numbers in the past, but it all needs to be re-rolled. I'm sure they'll be some posts regarding the subject soon.

Using the foil tape... kinda gotta. The duct tape doesn't have much longevity when exposed to the UV and heat.
They'll be quite a few airflow discussions in the days ahead. It's kind of a touchy dance I do. The heat and humidity really impose some strict limits in this area as well.

Would the insulating foam backed with tape we use for windows work? What flashed through my mind was a wide strip run up the seams from the inside (of course :laughtwo: ).

Dunno... haven't tried it... but thanks for the idea. I'll have to scour the shelves next time I visit the wallet drain. We don't have much cold weather locally and insulation options can run thin in the local marketplaces.

'Round these parts, we refer to the ideas that drift to the duct tape side as 'Jackleg Engineering'. To be technical, it's roots lie in the military arena and might be easily recognized by someone that has tried to tie their entire life together with duct tape and parachute cord. Some of us can really appreciate and smile at the subtle reference.

Now you know... go spread it 'round, then get out there and enjoy ya some of what this world has to offer.

Duct tape is the force that holds the universe together!

Try the thicker foam used for air conditioners. You can slice it and back it with outdoor doublestick tape to get essentially the same effect. More work, but the same end result.

It's a shame my current neighborhood is so far away. I have extra rolls I don't need sitting in a drawer.

Use rigid insulation board to fill in the window tape with hvac tape and you have a seal. You could put some rigid insul on exterior and that would help keep cooler too.

PARACORD! I've been looking for a solution to hanging a heavy pot rack in my kitchen with a thinner cross section than hemp/sisal but without the total ugliness of polypropylene. Thanks Tead!

Exterior skin coming... one day at a time baby!

Welcome 'round AvidLerner... luvin the humor in the moniker.
Lots of new tweaks for this old dog. Whatcha growin?

It even comes in fun colors these days. Much prettier that the OD green.
I did some air assault training when wearing too much green... a good part of it is air-loading training. We went thru huge rolls of the stuff. Duct tape, rip cord, and a prayer as your rig hits the chutes from the ass end of a shithook.... or better yet, a LAPSE drop from the back of a transport.... fun.
Toys and techniques best left to younger Teads.
