Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Super sexy plant bud! That expansion ider sounds fantastic, opens a lot of windows for ya that's for sure. How long do you usually veg for with them hempy units? Still intrigues the shit outta me man:);) I ve been reading about home made co2 generators these last few days, ever deal or consider that kinda addition to ye o ll garden?? Simple as a water jug with some sugar, water and a bit of yeast.... they say the plants gobble it up and LUV IT....

Wow! She's a pretty one Tead, and if she's the last of her kind may she knock your socks off. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I agree with you, man. This is middle of the road pheno. It's too lanky and cola formation is lacking real buddage. And it flowers too long. This is where Chemdawg '91 hits the most, but it doesn't come through with real edge... still smoke is very enjoyable. Hmmm I just found a seedless bud in a pound of seeded one, will be a treat :passitleft: :laughtwo:

Pondering ideas of garden expansion lately.
While there are many possibilities, the lazy gardener will select the easiest.

Current bloom area is 3'x3.5' at 4' high -10.5 sqft - 42cf
New bloom design 4'x5' at 6' high - 20sqft - 120cf

My construction will be wood studs (2x2s) and insulation panels (black core with 1 side silvered).
Not sure what to do for a door yet. Maybe just a simple flap made of the silver double-bubble stuff.

This upgrade will allow for taller plants. I'll implement the PVC tubes for some larger plants.

Still pondering everything. The ideas are solidifying, but still only form thick oil.
How to setup the light venting and air extraction are both issues that are still very liquid.

I think you will be happier with 4'x5' at 6' high.
Not only for the extra growing space and extra height, but it will be easier to keep the environmentals more stable with 3 times the cubic feet. I like to have a ceiling with plenty of points to screw in or tie off stuff. It's nice to have flexibility.

i am a lover of reflectix, which i think is the same as your silver doublebubble stuff. i vote for the flap as i've made several flap doors out of it and you just can't beat it for flexibility...i cut to size little "doors" for intake/exhaust...and a person-size door too. RH or temps too high? detach flap/bend flap away. the *only* drawback i can see is if over time it loses its built-in rigidity and becomes less door-like....but then i just replace it.

I like your planned set-up. 48" is just not tall enough, tho. You might need to use that space for tall flowering ladies. In my limited indoor experience, I would not go any shorter than 60 inches. You need room for the lights and fans.

A flap is better than a solid door. My flaps are white tarp on the inside and a black bed sheet on the outside. I just tie them up out of the way when tending the ladies. Your reflective walls are a step up from my cheapo white tarps. ;-)

I don't understand how you can get so much bud growing in drainage pipe. I need at least 3 gallon tall kitchen trash bins to accommodate the roots! Must be the nutes, eh? :thumb:

Thanks!
I've toyed with the idea.
My main problem with the idea is that I extract air from the garden at a pretty high rate. I just can't see it having ANY chance at building up any noticeable increase in CO2 levels.

.... and it's just not the best of smokes either. Good 'nuff... but not knockin my socks off like the Boom, so what's the point of continuing it's genetics.
I topped this one once. Totally just removed the spike, but didn't boost the other buds much, so I'm sorry I did it.

I hadn't thought of the added CF giving me better air space stability. It will be interesting to see how this angle plays out. The expansion may occur tomorrow.

Yup... Reflectix.... I just always forget the trade name. Double walled bubble.... double bubble.... bonus fun word!
I think the flap is the only functional answer. A sliding door is another possible thing... but keeping it light tight might be an issue and a flap seems much easier to implement.

I think it's just an issue of me growing smaller plants than you. The 2L format seems about the smallest functional format for a lazy grower. The roots absolutely fill those containers hard. Of course, all this is great for someone with a tight space, but I may move to the much larger PVC tube pots once I get more headroom to use.

The tubes range in size, but range around 6L to 8L and I really like the tube format. Perhaps they'll be better fits for a larger garden.

Right sizing has really been great for me. Lexort finally got me to move to the 2L pots and they've really been perfect for my tiny garden.

I'm pretty sure the pot I use is close to the 2 ltr size. I keep meaning to measure, but I don't buy anything in a 2ltr bottle. Need to get one from the daughter. I used a cut-down vinegar bottle, so it may be closer to 3 ltr.

You've inspired me to add another pot into the mix, but it needs to be scheduled properly, so it's on hold for a spell, unless I start the seed today. Hmmmm..... What do I want to grow most? I think I have a CBD Shark Shock that might be interesting. Or some wild sativa for a little excitement.

So many strains, so little time. :laughtwo:

Looking forward to the remodel. Remember you'll be getting the BudMaster in about a month or so. I need to keep it until I flip Carn 3 and the bigger clone vegging off to the side of the tiny closet. This panel is the lightest in weight of the others, which will benefit you mightily. It's so much easier to hoist. It runs hotter than the COBs I'm replacing it with, but it's also the coolest running of my bigger panels.

Per request....

They're not on the same grow schedule, so one can't compare growth rates between the two. You could if I were up on my grow log, but Tead's just a horrible slacker.

I keep trying. :laughtwo: With the kit it's essential that you manage plants and soil. You end up with fabulous produce, so I keep trying. It's still a work in progress. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The plants are a wonderful representation of your ability to get the system dialed in. Well done Tead. :high-five: It's pictures like those that get me more excited about the next run.

I love the look of #4.. Looks like one that wood do great outdoors.. Iffin you could,, nice big fat leaves... Keepem Green

#3 is a stretchy OG type, I figure this mostly from the top cola and lanky silhouette. Should be nice and potent smoke. I don't know when it started flowering, but if I'm right it should finish more or less within Boom's timeframe. #4 looks to me more like an indica or NYCD pheno. Again flowering should be short with this one, structure will be similar to Boom, but high will be very different, more relaxing and calming with more warmth and less zip to it. It's actually my favourite one.

It's a nice dream...

Nice.
It sure has been fun walking thru the phenos like this. I never would have imagined the joy involved in it all. Kind of like a horse race with the winners gaining a spot in the garden.
I've been keeping the clone train going on them all. By the time I get to sample the final product I usually have one more just entering bloom and another clone in the veg room. Still got one more UD2 coming thru the waves, but it's genetics are ending.

SSDC x2 in one pot.... pardon the background clutter.

Just amazing. I dream of a day when I can have something as beautiful as that along side my tulips in my gardens. All of you are artist's. Thanks.

A look at the main stalk of UD3 and UD4

UD4 has even stems on it's lower growth and offset stems on the top spiky part. UD3 is offset all along the plant.
Interesting difference that I noticed this morning.

Hmmmm....... Do we have any idea what causes that? Still learning the ropes here. Another question, if you will, can you top a clone the same way you would a plant grown from seed?

Look, she's happy. :cheesygrinsmiley:
