Re the bennies. The Cap'n and his disciples were/are huge on running bennie teas through their rockwool, which seemed to have awesome results and made for beautiful root porn.
Here we go again. Sorry
Actually, disregard this post. Nevermind. Don't read it.

I wonder if rockwool retains water more than than my superlight perlite only mix... I haven't poked around the Capn's area any recent days. Does he have a current journal?

Rockwool is one of those things you 'can't overwater', except in the case of small seedlings and cuttings. These guys do a coco type routine where they water 3 times a day. I figured the bennies wouldn't live in there, just provide a short term/one time benefit.
The Cap'n left 420 just before I joined, unbeknownst to me. A big part of the reason I joined was because of his threads. The ones left here make for great reading though.
It's kind of a big topic. Kind of sorry I brought it up. Don't read this one either, or you're going to have to do a bunch of reading and might even be tempted to start brewing teas and shit. Like you say, no point fixing what isn't broken.

Naw wease... no worries. My laze level will keep me from ever getting that crazy personally.
I'm pretty sure I have plenty of words on the Capn's threads when he was around. He was one of the reasons and much of the support behind my move to hempy.

Funny how folks come and go. I've even done it before. I usually don't poke too hard at such situations, figure it's not my place. I do miss folks tho. There have been many over the years that come and go.

Alllllllrighty. Photos and feedings.

Cool. What's that thing that looks like an old phone, next to the upside down beer cup, on top of the lasagna you're warming up?

Oh yeah, I forget you've been on 420 forever. As Rifleman kindly pointed out to me (thanks mate), the Cap'n is alive and posting, just not on 420. Yeah I feel weird when people disappear too. Some people I still feel quite close to have just gone 'poof' never to be seen again, and it is strange- can't help but wonder wtf happened. At the same time I suppose it is a gift of sorts if we ever have to go poof ourselves. We can pull the plug anytime, no mess to clean up, 420 owns our posted content, and we are free to go :).

He & Curso were my 1st mentors when I got here too. Like you, he helped me with Hempys.
There's lots of folks I miss too. Some I woulda never thought would just up n leave, some got kicked off, some got pissed about something, one went to jail cause of his grow, crazy place huh?

Betty's back!

Hope you do not mind if I pull up a chair and get acquainted.
sorry for taking so long to jump over and say hello. I am only up to page 7 but I am old and bad eyes and a slow reader boot, will get caught up to speed by tomorrow. Just have to say the 1st time I saw your temp/RH% gauge I was hooked
Actually I have enjoyed much of whats been going on here including the rants, sounds a lot like my rants.
I can not imagine having to deal with that high of RH or temps, my hat is off to you.

Everybody loves Betty!
Welcome to town OG. I wouldn't bother reading back... booooooring. Mostly just prattle about crawfish.
I see you're an Oregonian... bonus points for you... I grew up at the base of the coast range.
So happy I can get Tillamook cheese at Costco these days. Made some of my mom's mac & cheese with it the other day... brought some fun memories back. Now I've chatted publicly about it and had some more fun memories. Thanks!
I miss the granola homeland often for many different reasons. Some day I imagine myself in a cabin on a hidden hillside in that coastal range... you know... that place that takes 4 logging roads and a goat trail to get to. It'll have a nice river I can drop an impeller into.
Perhaps somewhere along the Nestucca.
Fun to dream... thanks!
I was peeking at the first page of your grow. I'm just not sure I believe the words "first grow" that you toss into the title. It's just too good looking my friend. CO2 inline.... fancy filters... nice clean setup. Nope... not buyin that.
How was your outdoor growing experience in OR? I've often wondered about mold issues from the constant rain. Perhaps you're out east in the desert.
Oddly enough, we see more rain yearly than you. We get it in 6 hours... you get it in 6 months. Riding out a good Cat3 in your house will point out every little possible water leak in a big way.
hmmm... I might be wandering here... sorry.
Anyway, welcome! Feel free to babble about the price of tea in China if you wish.

Random thoughts... watching a historical show this morning... just sound in the background mostly.
The name "Hedy Lamarr" broke the surface for me. I rewound to listen to the story that I've previously been made aware of.
She invented Pulsed Code Modulation (PCM). This is a very core principle in many different communications technologies. She was a touch like Bell tho perhaps less stealing idea-ish.
Stunning physically of course. What a complete babe. She had it all. Wish I had a chance to share a quiet dinner with her.
