Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

There ya go Tead. More good ideas for you! A heroic quest! Off the couch ya get! You'll need the full bee suit on, some joints to smoke, a container for the honey, some pruning shears, perhaps a couple extra joints to smoke out the bees with, a can of pepper spray to counteract enraged willow loving grannies, beekeepers, and other random people (who may look at you funny and throw rocks), bandaids, syringe with antivenin, and deodorant, because you're going to be hot as hell in that suit. In the end though, it will all be worth it, when you get to witness one of nature's true miracles, the, ummmm....the birth ?.....?? or Wtf it's called.?....of
-a new baby girl clone! Yay!!

I've also heard that Aloe Vera works for cloning, and as an extra bonus can slather it on your bee stings. :thumb:

I think I'll take a pass on grannies and bees. It just so happens that I grow aloe. Big one right outside my front door.
Lovin that option.
Off to research!

i heard some people saying that bee keeping is very relaxing

I've had a bunch of plumbing work done recently. My plumber is a licensed / bonded / insured plumber, as well as a pharmacist, and additionally a bee keeper. He's like one of the most laid back and careful dudes I know. Stellar plumbing work. I assume he takes great care with his other careers as well.
He always seems very relaxed.
Only bee keeper I ever known tho. Can't really judge the group from him... but he is way mellow.

Hey Tead! I just saw you on OG thread and curiosity about betty brought me to your thread and I ended up spending this morning reading the whole thing from the start! I love it, everything that is happening here! Good conversation, lively banter, and if course excellent growing and knowledge sharing!

Unfortunately now I'm going to have to try a 100% perlite grow. I am already using hempy style 2 liter pots in a sog with soil, so the next 6 I put in are going to all perlite just to see what happens. I know nothing about hydro or soilless, hell I don't even know much about soil growing lol, but now I want to try!

I'm subbed up for sure! Keep it coming!

OMG!!! I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I'm a first and last kinda dude... unless I find a reason to dig of course.

Sorry/happy 'bout that. I hate it when I get in the "tryin new shit" mood. On the other hand, that's how I made the move from soil to hempy.

check his journal and see

Hempy pots with soil you say? Damn.. another thread to the list.

Hey tead i have a question. So i got my first hempy going 100% perlite ofcourse but im already noticing green algae growing should I worry about it or no?

Feedings and photos....

Ladies first of course

Clone box... luvin it so far

5Gal girl looks tough. Took clone from top. Exposed a of previously damaged stuff.

4th gear... same same

3rd gear looks great. She's moving right along as expected and is shaping up to be a beautiful harvest. About 8 top colas.

2nd gear shows her early rough treatment in many ways. Buds are coming along, but smallish all around.

Local temps are hitting low to mid 70's. Grow space temps have stayed in the lower 80's by day and 60's at night.

now I'm going to have to try a 100% perlite grow

I must toss a disclaimer here. I do this because I live in a very humid world. Hempy grows with verm in them often give me some inner pot rotting issues at the end of grow/post harvest (re-veg). I find that the perl only config REALLY works well for me in my hot/damp grow room.
My local RH usually does not drop below 70 and if I were to guess at an average, it would be in the upper 80's.
I like the idea of adding verm... giving a higher water retention number... but not in da swamp baby!

3rd gear looks like it is going to be a beast

Perhaps. She's suffered a touch of the extreme temps... but not nearly as much as the first 2 gears. She had the added benefit of experiencing much better airflow thru her life.
5Gal may be my next significant step up, and osmo girl is a complete unknown at this point.

Lol yea now you have me in the trying new things mood. Speed and yield intrigue me!

I think the soil grow I have now would be comparable to a perlite and verm as far as water retention. I'll be trying straight perlite though. It might be a huge failure because I will not ph my water or nutes but I'll do what I can to have it close.

I am really interested in the cloner. Are you just filling it with water and poking the stem of the clones down into the water and that's that?

Drop a dime on a PH pen. Really... it's like soil... mostly... except one very important way... ALL the food for your plant comes DIRECTLY from your nute mix. You have to give it everything, and you have to hit the PH right so that everything can be absorbed. It is the single most important issue in play. In this aspect, it's much more like hydro. Of course, that's really the same function that enables the speed as well... a very two edged sword.
In soil, you have a huge buffer in play. Hempy has no such buffer.

Plastic box painted black. Holes in the lid. Rubber pipe insulation as a collar in the holes. Plant bottoms in water with fish tank air pump. Foil over top of lid... shoulda just painted it. Opaque solo cups over tops. Easy. Lazy easy.
