Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

I wing it myself, because im green to growing mj. I dont know, (and dont trust the interweb) and am often afraid to do anything with my plants...fearing im causing more damage. So i wait, and wait until they scream at me, leaving me only 1 solid choice. I do that..then keep rolling with the flow.

Kinda stressfull.ish. i have 3 issues yell-screaming at me this morning. 2 are kinda big bad 'hey get off ur ass and do something with me already'..type issues. Ahhh what to do what to do.

I dont like this damn sativa. So wobbly n soft. Probably fit well in a scrog- which i dont do, cant afford to make now..

Mostly, we all find a place and settle. Some are driven to constantly try new things and stretch the boundaries. I've spent my time dancing on the bleeding edge. Like I said... we find a comfortable space and settle... mostly.
Your words speak to me like many before you that were searching for that comfort zone of growing. Don't be discouraged by mistakes and tragedies... they happen... they teach.
One tip that unknowingly really helped me... I don't switch up strains much. Familiarity with the traits of your growing girls really helps. I didn't see that for a long time... then had a bit of an epiphany one day. For example, I forgot to PH a batch of nutes a while back. I recognized the problem the same damn day... waited for the next day to be sure, then corrected the problem. Familiarity with my girl was what made that quick reaction possible.

Tead- You calling me a melon farmer!? :)

Oh no... just confusing all the players on the field for a brief moment. Poor poor Cajun.... forgot simple playground rules and now must suffer the consequences.

we can more easily brainwash people to the ways of the Hempy. We will convert them.

MwaaaaHaaaaHaaaa! <rubbing hands together maniacally>

God, I could sit and listen to you talk all day. :battingeyelashes: The drink's delightful. Lime with the rum, nice touch

Been a rum drinker all my life. Not a frequent drinking kinda guy... when I do, I look for something interesting in the rum department. We grow a lot of sugar cane down here. Some of that cane goes directly to rum, so there are interesting local varieties available.
Careful drinkin with da y'ats. We don't believe in crazy ideas like 'last call'. Many visitors are surprised to be greeted by the sunlight when they finally get around to making their exit. An evening of banter, drinks, and dancing can sure stretch into a morning before you know it.

So what I hear is that working with the hempy pots your brain plays in creative, which is a great release for someone driven by left-brain passions. Close?

Close enough. There are many side issues that would take a lifetime to discuss.... but yeah, you've got your head wrapped around it. Really kinda trying to explain how the puzzle piece called "growing" best fits with the other pieces in the puzzle of life.

Someday I'll have to have honest-to-God gumbo. To my recollection I've not indulged, and I'm certain that's something I'd remember.

Really.... what a shame! Don't you have some imports hanging around your neck of the woods that originated from my neck of the swamp? Can't your wrangle one up and squeeze some gumbo outta them? Try plying them with liquid libations.

All this talk of Gumbo... I had to google it. That looks damn tasty. I will have to try my hand at making it now.

Tead, you got a recipe for me bud?

I don't think folks understand how food is a religion down here.
You'll see 4 million recipes... but none of them are nearly as good as what your mamma made.

Having said that, I'm not a gumbo chef. Beans and rice... all day long. Crawfish burl... I'm your guy. Deep fried turkey... oh yeah. Gumbo... not so much.
I'll share a related quick story that may provide some insight.
I love to make Beans and Rice. I tried to make it for my mother in law while visiting her in California once. One of the core ingredients is simple red kidney beans. I picked up some at the store along with all the other parts. Soaked them 2 days to make sure they softened properly. After all the cookin was done, the beans just were not 'right'. A touch too hard and taste was off.
I now realize that all the parts available elsewhere are just not the same. To make Beans and Rice properly, I gotta take all the pieces with me from now on.

Sorry not to toss an easy recipe out here.

No worries bud. I just need to google how to make the sauce, and the rest I will wing. Thinking prawn, mussels and chourico. Similar to a spanish paella.

Been viewing the NW flooding news this morning. My heart goes out to ya. Water intrusion sux.... hard.
Y'all take care out there! We do it frequently, but those unfamiliar with the joys have some interesting discoveries in store.
I remember the odd issues after K. Elevator shafts in office building were full of mud and water. All underground infrastructure (a.k.a. what's under manholes) was packed with mud.

I got 2 babies that have just hit the 'roots to the bottom' point and have started some awesome veg growth. You sit and watch them go slowly for a couple of weeks, then they explode. It's so fun to see.

Flyin low and fast this morning. Photos and feeding.
2nd gear went down to feed the need.

Ladies first of course...

That's a hearty plant you have growing there. Sweet leaves Tead.

Dang that is a rich color! Looking good.

Thanks Dr. Bob. Some day soon I'll capture some true color photos and speak about about how I like to judge the color.

Thanks Sue. She's the 3rd of the season and is beginning to represent a decent girl. The first 2 were rushed and abused by heat. 3rd gear has a touch of damage from her early days. In the photo, you can see leaf spotting from PH. Also some stem discoloration. Still, not a bad looking girl. I really hope the 5gal girl will be a good step up... bigger roots and all.

Hey Tead. Your pro-hempy propaganda isn't falling in deaf ears, just so you know. I do think about it. I seem to have figured out how to make my current system work ok now. My grow is a carefully balanced house of cards which lets me be away for five nights a week without watering, barring some disaster. Do you see a way that I could manage that with a hempy pot somehow, by tweaking the container size or reservoir size or something or other?
