Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Do you see a way that I could manage that with a hempy pot somehow, by tweaking the container size or reservoir size or something or other?

I currently do 4 days between watering cycles, and do it in a very warm garden with pot sizes at 3gal.
I've not seen a single sign of underwatering... even in the flowering girls that drink more.
I've seen grows that go for a week between feedings.

To be honest, I'm kind of amazed at the wicking action that seems to be going on in my hempy pots. After 4 days of hot weather, I can stick my finger about 2 inches down and still feel moisture.

So, to answer your question.... Why haven't you started a hempy pot yet?

Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy.... the stoner version.

I really am pleased with the progress of my garden this year. The 2 first girls were abused, but produced. After those, the rest are looking great.
I got a new grow method in test that seems to be doing great. If the new osmo method works as well as standard nutes, I can move to a water only system that would really make things much easier.
While heat all around is always an issue, just skipping the summer months this year was so much less stressful. Keeping just the veg tent going in the heat is SO much easier. Next summer will need to include some sort of custom enclosure if I want to bloom in the heat.

One more random thought...
I keep the light down low on the blooming girls. At it's current height, I can squeeze 2 plants into the light's footprint. As larger plants come into the garden, the light will need to go up thus giving me the opportunity to put 4 plants into the mix. Of course, there will be a downside related to the light being further away, but I like the silver lining in this situation.

One more observation... sorry y'all.

I was peeking in the veg tent this morning. You can really tell quickly how your last feeding was received. The color variation between the new and old growth tells the story so well.
OsmoGirl looks very similar in color variation to the traditional nute plants. I was very concerned about over-nute issues here. She hung for a couple of weeks.... and that could be an issue. The idea behind the osmo is that it starts off light while the plant is still young... then the nutes start dissolving quicker as they age, thus raising the nute level as the plant matures. I thought I had missed that curve and my nute level would be too high. This doesn't appear to be the case. Her color variation is spot on. Very happy with her so far.

That was the main reason for me to start a thread really, besides spreading some info on t5bulbs, but I can't keep notes for shit. Then when I do half the time I can't read what chicken scratch I wrote down. This keeps everything nice and tidey. I would say good use of resources. I'm looking forward to this OC+ plus girl. I've read so many ppl say that oc+ grows are amazingly simple and produce very well but I have never actually read a journal of someone doing it. Glad it's taking off well!

Me too... if it turns out to a functional thing, it will really boost my laziness level. I've got a clone coming up in a pot that has not had any nutes yet. I'm considering investing her into the osmo investigation grow as well.

Speaking of clones, I took a peek under the DIY cloner hood a few minutes ago. Roots coming out of 2 of them. Very happy. Should have done this years ago.

I use the SWICKs under my no-tills. There was a point when I removed one of the reservoirs and it sat at th bottom of my bed for a month before I broke the grow down and cleaned everything up. There was still moist perlite in the bottom three inches of the pan. We had another grower who left his plants unattended on a SWICK for a week and returned to healthy and vigorous plants with no sign of thirst. Perlite is excellent for this type of arrangement. It always amazes me how effectively it wicks.

Ricky, I've learned the hard way to keep notes anyway. The first time you try to find something you needed buried in the pages of your journal you'll understand. Of course, your journals may not get as long as mine do. :laughtwo:

hmmm.... on the other hand... I can't help but notice that the veg tent is plenty full.... hmmmmm.... Dammit!

Hmmmmmmm........ I feel you. :battingeyelashes: How I convienient, eh?

I know... I clean it with bleach between uses and have to spread it thin in a big tub to get it to dry out.
Of course, one also worries about nutrient levels rising in a growing plant that's using water... but I've seen no sign of such issues in my grows or others I've followed.
