Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Everybody loves Betty!
Welcome to town OG. I wouldn't bother reading back... booooooring. Mostly just prattle about crawfish.
I see you're an Oregonian... bonus points for you... I grew up at the base of the coast range.
So happy I can get Tillamook cheese at Costco these days. Made some of my mom's mac & cheese with it the other day... brought some fun memories back. Now I've chatted publicly about it and had some more fun memories. Thanks!
I miss the granola homeland often for many different reasons. Some day I imagine myself in a cabin on a hidden hillside in that coastal range... you know... that place that takes 4 logging roads and a goat trail to get to. It'll have a nice river I can drop an impeller into.
Perhaps somewhere along the Nestucca.
Fun to dream... thanks!
I was peeking at the first page of your grow. I'm just not sure I believe the words "first grow" that you toss into the title. It's just too good looking my friend. CO2 inline.... fancy filters... nice clean setup. Nope... not buyin that.
How was your outdoor growing experience in OR? I've often wondered about mold issues from the constant rain. Perhaps you're out east in the desert.
Oddly enough, we see more rain yearly than you. We get it in 6 hours... you get it in 6 months. Riding out a good Cat3 in your house will point out every little possible water leak in a big way.
hmmm... I might be wandering here... sorry.
Anyway, welcome! Feel free to babble about the price of tea in China if you wish.
I grew back in the day but that was long ago and I was not really very good at it. I made some coin doing it but nothing big. I did get 2 plants out on 7-1-2015 when Oregon went legal for recreational. Ok so I may have got them in a week or two early but the law had been passed. Still pretty late. I was a bit worried about mold since by the time I was ready to harvests the rains had started. As for my garden, the 4x4 tent and inline fans and the red LED light were a gift to me from my neighbor who has been growing MMJ for the past 14 years. It was actually my other neighbors grow gear, who also grew MMJ but her husband retired and they moved back east and gave my other neighbor all their gear. He already had all new gear so he ended up cleaning house and gave it all to me. I originally was going to grow in the 4x4 tent but things just kind of grew out of control. I actually paid less for my 5x10 tent then what the local grow shop was asking for another 4x4. Was like 40 dollars cheaper to go bigger. Then to top it all off I got played off in May and have had nothing but free time on my hands to research everything you could imagine. At first I found that the internet was very unreliable as a source for learning to grow. I would hear people say crap like veg at 12/12 or flower at 18/6 you need blue light for flowering.. all kinds of misinformation. It did not take me long to see through the crap and who was reliable. I think I watched every video on youtube that had anything to do with marijuana. and there are a lot. Then I found 420 and have not looked back. Sure there are some here that are a little clueless but the beauty of here is those people are not trying to come across as some expert. I have so much more to learn it is mind boggling. And here I know that the people who are telling me new ways are actually people who have a clue.
Oh by the way I live just west of Portland on the way to Tillimook. And the wife and I would never drive to
without stopping into the Tillimook cheese factory for some squeaky cheese and fudge.

Oh crap, I am rambling again..:cheesygrinsmiley: Wife calls me "Chief Trotting-tongue"

Random thoughts... watching a historical show this morning... just sound in the background mostly.
The name "Hedy Lamarr" broke the surface for me. I rewound to listen to the story that I've previously been made aware of.
She invented Pulsed Code Modulation (PCM). This is a very core principle in many different communications technologies. She was a touch like Bell tho perhaps less stealing idea-ish.
Stunning physically of course. What a complete babe. She had it all. Wish I had a chance to share a quiet dinner with her.

They ran a special on her out here in Oregon like a few months ago. I believe it was on OPB if I recall correctly.
and yes, what a doll :thumb:

Hey Tead, ill pull a chair if thats ok with you :thumb:

I love that cheese so much lol expensive but worth it lol

It was sure fun to introduce my sweetie to it. She'd never tried.
So, anyone know what happened to the commercial Dory fleet in Pacific City? I saw none when I was there a few years ago. Fish market near the beach parking is gone. Doesn't seem to be much happening in the Dory Fleet category. You used to see tons of Dorys hanging around in fisherman's driveways... not anymore.

Ok... time for a funny side story.
As a young Tead, I spent MUCH time in PC. One year, me and my buddy put some BB's thru windows in what used to be a restaurant across the highway from the parking lot. We got in the appropriate amount of trouble, and paid for our deeds in various ways. When my wife and I were there a few years ago, we stayed in (I believe... may have been rebuilt) that same building and had wonderful views out over the beach, the rock, and the cape.
Great rooms, awesome views, and touch of a story to boot. Made for a fun weekend.

Stoner moment... dropped the lower chamber of my grinder and spilled all the dust out into the dirt. Sux.
:yikes:

Willowater you say???
Please expand.

Yessir, supergroomer said the bark of willow tree.

Its best to cut a branch off. A newer shoot from the lowest point, roughly 1inch in diameter. Ive been using 12inch long cuttings, shredded and steeped overnight. Not just the bark, the entire branch.
CloneX and the good majority of rooting products contain IBA, which they get from willow trees.

Yes willow water is a time honored rooting formula. A willow branch, chopped off and stabbed into the ground, is all you need to grow a future willow tree. All willows contain IBA, in varying amounts, so watch out for wandering growers, anyone who has a willow tree in their backyard.

Love this place. One little query and the answers fly!
I'll have to check with my local flower shop for a supply... I don't think they grow this deep south... 'least not in the swamp.

Ive seen weeping willows down south, thats probably your best bet, to find.. Im not sure if store bought branches would work well? Depending on the supplier. Dont buy anything thats been sitting in a warm warehouse for months..(were not always aware of details)

Edit
Hit me up if you need a supplier, im sure we can work something out ;)

Yes Dammit!!! She's such a tease some days!

I love her. What a tease. :laughtwo: Well, now I know how you grow and why. I only read page one and jumped right to real time, the way I always recommend you do on mine. That's ok with you? Everything changes as you roll on anyway.

I'll just have a seat over here, if that's alright with you?

I love that cheese so much lol expensive but worth it lol
I always hit the free sample area a few times before we hit the road to help offset the expense..:laughtwo:

well heck sue if your alright with me just reading the first page then jumping to the current page then I will come over to your journal. I usually read peoples journal from start to finish but i have been intimidated by the length of your journal lol

Ive also seen it claimed a few places that honey can be used as a rooting compound although I have not tried it myself but just read it a few places lol. My gramma has a willow tree in her backyard lol.

There ya go Tead. More good ideas for you! A heroic quest! Off the couch ya get! You'll need the full bee suit on, some joints to smoke, a container for the honey, some pruning shears, perhaps a couple extra joints to smoke out the bees with, a can of pepper spray to counteract enraged willow loving grannies, beekeepers, and other random people (who may look at you funny and throw rocks), bandaids, syringe with antivenin, and deodorant, because you're going to be hot as hell in that suit. In the end though, it will all be worth it, when you get to witness one of nature's true miracles, the, ummmm....the birth ?.....?? or Wtf it's called.?....of
-a new baby girl clone! Yay!!

I've also heard that Aloe Vera works for cloning, and as an extra bonus can slather it on your bee stings. :thumb:

i heard some people saying that bee keeping is very relaxing

as for me, being alergic to bees, i keep my distance :cheesygrinsmiley:
