Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

So I'm kind of looking for any short flowering strains to give a try with. Con suggest maybe some Ultra Dawg he's been playing around with

I gotta say... luvin the UltraDog so far. Lemme check the log....

10/10/16
UD1 seed popped

12/9/16
Moved UD1 to bloom

I can't really estimate harvest time yet. I suspect she may have another few weeks. I'm not running her under the strongest lights... only 400w.

I really don't know how long she's gonna take indoor. Outdoor she's a fast finisher.

anyone remember that ISOMIZER they use to sell.. Turn shit to gold'.. Did distill your weed with alcohol and turned out 'Green granular pieces of chloroform.' Tasted like lawn clippings. I guess it got you high? If it didn't I couldn't tell at the times. I bought abit of weed from 72' thru 76' And I haven't bought any since. Cept dime or two. I think the best weed I ever got, short of the dripped thai sticks,,, man they were my favorite, was homegrown sensie from around Lake Co, Cali. I use to go help this old ass hippie,, look at me now damn, in the summers with his crops. He paid me with weed. Besides teaching me the basics and letting me grow acouple of mine wit his. His,,,, LOL he was squatting on state land. But he grew real purple haired sensimilla.
Con I used to see alot of hash around. Blonds and Reds Leb hash.. I still see blond Lebanese,, Miss J's finger hash.. She's blond,, and she's Lebanese... And every once in awhile my Bro wood ship back a set of JBL speakers from Germany with 200 gram slabs of this black bubble gum hash in each. Was like tar, and was honey oils too. Alot of people don't even know, those first glass pipes, made of a tube with a bubble blown at the end, with a entry point in the bubble ,, were for honey oil.. Not meth--- Oh well
Just had to throw my 2 cents out there.... Keepem Green
That is ringing a bell.... I smoked some bought weed the other day...and said..it taste like grass clippings.. so maybe they used that on some crap weed??!!

I was googling my street the other day and on the pic view I see my father in law on the old moped that was stolen lol

These Isomizers were in the back of Hightimes back late 70's... Frankenstien looking contraptions. Use to run alcohol across the weed down to a evaporation tray leaves chloroform enriched granulars. Was expensive to,, like 350$, alot at the time.
So I see you lived around here Tead. I drive thru your neck of the woods every time we go to Lincoln City to gamble or a concert. I have to say this is a hard place to grow. Are you living down in the Bayou's? With all the gators and gars? I've only been hru Louisiana on a run acouple times. I played around with a small Bike Club outta Little Rock called Road Barons. Satellite club of Banditos.
Now I'm living in Gresham Oregon. Home of the molds........... I love the temps here, I don't do to cold or too hot well anymore.. Guess this old dog's circulation isn't the best anymore. But we had some good COLD weather should kill off the bugs and maybe some of the spores. How you like these girls?

I have a greenhouse out there,,, somewhere.

And we still have snow after 2 weeks.... Keepem Green

OH DAMN!!! And I thought my cloning program was giving me challenges. That's a touch crazy.
I turned on the AC this morning when I got up.

These days I appreciate snow a touch more in photographic form rather than the real thing. Oh man... you should see the locals try to drive on the very rare icy roads. Good thing we don't have hills.... the death tolls might be staggering.

Gators and all baby. I like gators... on a stick.... yummy stuff.
We have sunlight down here. I know you're fairly new to the Great NW, but you'll grow to appreciate the idea in the coming years. You might discover that Alaska Air (prayer and all) has cheap flights down to Puerto Vallarta around march... just about the time you need to remind yourself what sunlight looks like.
Of course, I would always encourage you to return to NOLA to warm your bones.... I always like playing the tour guide role.

Some overview shots this morning....

Front Left - KaliAK
Rear Left - UltraDog2
Front Right - UltraDog1
Rear Right - 2L Pineapple Chunk (barely visible)

Veg tent current holds:
2 OGKs (2L and 1/2gal tub)
2 OGK clones
2 KaliAK clones
2 2L Osmo UltraDogs (UD1, UD2)
2 UltraDog clones (UD1, UD2)
2 UltraDog seeds
2 Pineapple Chunk clones
2L Osmo Pineapple Chunk
Northern Lights
2L Osmo KaliAK

I think that's it. Could be I missed something. Seeds or clones are destined for 2L Osmo pots. I kinda want a male from the UD seeds.

So, a touch of a scientific discovery regarding my seed program.
I tried 4 seeds in my little 2" deep tray filled with perlite. They all failed.
Hmmmmm..... ok. Been doing 100% in perlite.... what's up here?
I was kinda worried. I was afraid all my seeds had been killed somehow.
I pondered the issue some and decided that all the previous seeds had been planted in full size containers. I didn't see how it could make much difference, but I'm super happy I tested it. All the seeds planted in my 10" tall hempy buckets and about the same height 2L hempy pots popped.
Phew!
So, apparently height makes a difference. Dunno why. Dunno how. Maybe moisture levels. Maybe heat stability in the larger mass. Maybe just coincidence.
While I can't make heads or tails of the reason, I see the results.

One more shot... couldn't resist.
Trichomes from UD1. You can see the reflection of the little split ring of LED lights on the camera in the head of the trichomes.
Very cool.

Truly spherical heads - the trichome in profile reflect as well as the trichomes head on :)

Size matters. Moisture is critical. Heat effects stamina.
AngryBird knows this !

Yeah Tead I have to tell you I saw much more resinous verieties in my growing, but UD has pretty big heads tgere evenif they are not very dense. But punch is pretty much there in these two or three phenos. Personally I cherish the structure here and easy way to get very dense and hard colas.

I've been paying attention as the buds have been growing.
UD2 is not far along enough to discuss.
UD1 has been growing her buds in spurts. She grows a bunch of new growth and white pistols. The pistols turn brown as she pauses. Some of the brown pistols fall off and get caught in the sugar. Then the process goes around again and she shoots of another set of white pistols. Had me worried for the first couple rounds... all the brown hairs.... makin me think she was done already... but now I see her tricks and can appreciate her fickle feminine ways.

I have a clone of each of the UDs going in 2L pots and an Osmocote+ diet. Then I have cuttings of those clones growing roots. Oh... and 2 more seeds down and popped... probably destined for 2L Osmocote pots as well.

I suspect it's because in the shallow tray the taproot hits that bottom too quickly. It's important that the tap root get to a particular length before it starts splitting off into rootlets. With the strain you're using that tray is too shallow. I suspect this may be the case with any seed.

Does this sound plausible?

Seeds never opened, but it still sounded plausible. We did have some weather fluctuations. I might attribute it to the weather. dunno.

Maybe got too stoned and misjudged the actual size of your flowering room?
