Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

Hey stoneotter, Meds... thank you both for the kind words!
This one definitely came out of the sweat different/better than my last. I’m pretty excited to try it when it’s all cured. Of course I’m sure I’ll sample a bit in a couple weeks just for fun!
I’ll be sure to report on the chew/smoke.
What do you mean different?

Well the last cob I made I didn’t have the vacuume sealer yet... and had to harvest. So I put about 2oz wet into the fridge (this is a big no no, messes with the yeast or something) and when I cobbed it up 5-6 days later it just didn’t sweat properly. Maybe too dry, although it read at 75-80%. After 24hrs at 104f no mositure... and the smell wasn’t near as strong as this batch. Also my last cob didn’t have any of that crusty white stuff on the outside of it. These two both have some on each... they will be way different and most likely a much better cob.

Just noticed that my cobs have been curing two months to the day. One more month and they'll come out for a test drive.
.

In the meantime I'm gonna load up some Strawberry Kush bubble hash and catch the last 100 laps of the Nascar Monster Energy race. Wohooo...
.

Ok interesting. Mine were 70%rh and I think didn't get so wet as to really get the magic going as much as it might. There's a whole range of goodness to experience given different moisture levels I guess. Yours is going to be incredible.

Yep... for sure! I’m not saying my last one was bad... just not as different from the flower as I’d like. It’s really freaking smooth... like doesn’t feel like you’re smoking anything... gives a good full body high. But it tends to give me some uncomfortable pressure in my head after about an hour after smoking it. Besides that... it’s prerty great and I don’t get that when I chew it, just a nice mild high for hours. Yours going in around 70% should still come out nice, but maybe better next time when it starts out wetter.

Hello everyone, I hope today is going well for all!
Thought I’d share a few pics of the Panama Cobs I’ve got going. Has been 3 days since their 24hr sweat, so thought I’d open them up and check the smell. Man... they just slap you in the face when you open the bag! And if you put your nose pretty close and sniff, you catch a beef jerky undertone. I’m thinking continue with the 30c for 2 more days then bring them down to room temp, around 75-78, and let them cure, though I will wait and see what @tangwena says on this.
Here are some pics taken in different lighting. First ones are sun through the front door, send ones are my veg cabinet light.

Thanks for looking, any suggestions appreciated!
Brother they are done dry a little and vacuum seal for aging the results going to blow you away.

Sweet! So take them back out of the bags and dry them for... a day? More? Then seal em back up for the cure...
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to nail it to the end. With your help and the right questions... we can all learn a lot! Thank you.

Brother we are all here to take this to the next level those cobs from your description of the smell and what I can see are near perfect.
I like them a little moist just a little in the center when they are aged they should be able to be cut like chorizo sausage and broken into crumbs/chunks using your thumb nail.

I dont measure anything just go by feel and smell dry them until the outside feels dry then vac seal for aging as long as they remain vac sealed they will age nicely.
I only store pieces of cobs I am using in a jar the rest are vac sealed.

After aging a month you can fully dry them you will find once aging is over the cobs retain a very slight moist feel but this is from oils and resins. As they age further and dry the bloom/crystals form on their surface this is the best stage and vacuum sealing them at this stage will keep them perfect for years.
I have cob pieces 4/5 years old like fine wine very precious to me, a moment in time preserved from that particular plant forever.

You are on the verge of enlightenment my friend from here you will just get better and better.

Well now, smoking on the cob is like no other cannabis high yet. Taste like that too. It's easy to explain right? Maybe for you. First off I was all excited to clean the bong, cut a piece off the cob, and get the wic lit. That excitement flowed into the first toke which didn't amount to much (I didn't break the piece up enough I think). Second through fifth toke brought plenty of smooth, rich. smoke that eventually anesthetised my mouth, face, head and neck. I indeed had the "tripping smile" that I remember making my smile muscles sore. The taste was like the top shelf of anything I ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Refinement might be a part of defining it. The difference between a raisin and a grape, or aged cheese, brandy, wine versus minimal age. How was the high? It was enjoyable. Completely in control and not racy. Deep deep high that I could also be focused on what I wanted to do. I felt like exploring a trail or building something fun or anything at all. It was migraine day so I chilled and enjoyed simple easy things. It intensely lasted for an hour or so and in two hours pretty much calmed down. This is something special I plan to keep some of from every harvest from here on. I have to say the ones that came before us knew how to party! Thanks tangwena and Sweetsue
Once its aged you will see the world through new eyes like a baby for the first time. Yes the high is very different to dry flowers. Its like methylated spirit compared to cognac if its done correctly.

Very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to many more cob making times. There's room to improve and explore the adventure. Now I can't wait for next week to come.

Couldn't agree more! Wow Tangweng, thank you so much for all that priceless info, can't tell you how much I appreciate it!
You have quite excited for the future, I look forward to many many cob experiences.

Also, that oil you made looks dangerous:rofl: not that I wouldn't partake... just wow, I bet that is so crazy good!

Well I have some copy and pasting to do this morning as I enjoy my coffee, :nomo::thanks:

Some strange differences in the high for sure. I think you're right about more rh. From the sound of things I'll improve things with dampness that needs to be dried after the first step. 80% is my goal next time(at this time) with some dark devil auto if seeds come soon. Canada must have been inundated with 50% off orders like mine. Anyways if this is a cob with training wheels, then I really cannot believe what potential lies ahead.

Been reading "Volume One MARIJUANA: MEDICAL PAPERS 1839-1972" Tod H. Mikuriya, M.D.
and cant help but be reminded here of the personnel written experiences / study's written in this book
Although we dont use LEACHES to cure what was thought to be an overdose any more !! I bet it still
works, cant think of a faster way to straighten someone up then having leaches stuck to them :).

Anyway wanted to recommend the book if you want to read some really interesting personnel
experiances from back before it was understood

EDIT: Hope I dont upset the thread posting the following example
from a 1913 report/article

Baker-Bates has recently reported an instance from England in which a young man grew hemp in his garden and several times smoked the dried leaves and tops. He experienced mild, symptoms which included loss of sense of time and space, vivid dreams of hallucinations and subsequent drowsiness:

Incredulous about his experiences, his fiancee, aged twenty-two, smoked-and to some extent inhaled about two-thirds of a cigarette, made from the top of a fruiting plant. This was at about 10:10 pm Soon afterwards she fell asleep and a few minutes later, on being disturbed, she awoke with a start and exhibited apprehension. The eyes were bright, the hands were twitching, and she appeared intoxicated; she asked where she was--probably deceived by hallucinations--but seemed happy. At about 10:25 pm she was taken to a short walk, which was interrupted by outbursts of laughter and of affection; her speech became slurred from dryness of the mouth and her gait increasingly unsteady. At 10:30 pm she was taken to a doctor and the history explained; he recorded that she was pale, but able to stand and walk although feeling dizzy; she was very excited and talkative and made stiff purposeless moments with her hands; her state was highly emotional, even amorous, towards her companion; at one moment gay, she was next anxious and said she felt "enclosed"; she exaggerated the passage of time and was confused about spatial dimensions; her tongue and mouth felt parched and words were pronounced with difficulty, wile sentences lapsed into incoherence; the eyelids were half closed; the pupils dilated, but reacted to light; the pulse was rapid, but strong. She was transferred by police ambulance to the casualty department of the Liverpool Stanley Hospital where she arrived at 11 pm in a collapsed condition. Her symptoms at that time were loss of power in the legs and inability to stand; dizziness, dryness of the mouth, and palpitation; and lengthened estimation of the passage of time. She believed her condition had lasted many hours and, although fully conscious of her existence, she imagined she was "outside her own body" enclosed in a small space, and surrounded my a mist of which she could not escape. This imaginary mist did not impair her vision for distant objects. On further examination speech was found to be confused, rambling, and often inarticulate. She was unable to stand steady or without support, and showed great incoordination in the movements of the hands. There was tachycadia (140 per minute) and also marked inspiratory dyspnoea. No other abnormality was found. Following general treatment for shock the patient recovered in nine hours and there were no sequel except severe headache.
