Taking My Chances With The Devil: Dark Devil Auto & Devil's Crack Auto

I just need about an ounce every week. I run the smaller plants because when Inspection time comes they fit in a 35ga rubbermaid. Also because I really like having a bunch of different cultivars because strain tolerance is a real problem for me.

When I grow in the 2.5qt nursery pots i get just about the perfect size plant every time. That is the size that i grew the last Punto Rojo x Unknown and the two NL crosses in. I have a Sensi NL going right now in that size. I want to do hempy, but my hempys perform better with lots of runoff and that much runoff is messy as well as time consuming and sort of wasteful. I was thinking 1/2 gallon fabric or plastic square nursery pots. I could get more plant out of a fabric pot.

Once I get auto seeds made I will be running lots of those. I just have to be patient. I still have some nice plants growing. I plan to up pot the Punto Rojo x ( Mazar x Guerrero)s that show female so I will get a decent harvest whenever they decide to be finished. Also I expect the Sensi NL to be a great yielder in her current pot. The tiny ones are cultivars I had never grown before and wanted to observe without taking up tons of space.

I have an available 20oz hempy and a 2.5 quart nursery pot. I should get something going in both of them, since I have a couple seeds laying around... they wont get too tall by next Tuesday's inspection so I dont really know why I am waiting at all. Lol

A perpetual grow gets harder each different strain you add. What I mean by that is if for instance you planted nothing but Sensi Northern Light fems starting one seed a week. If you grew them all in the same everything (pots, lights, nutes etc) you could feed them all the same thing. They would grow to the same size, give you the same quality of buds. You could build a nice even canopy and maximize your yield for your space. Then go to another strain the next 12 weeks.

Got my Mega-Crop sample. Mega Chunky? Mega Smelly? Ingredients look good. Less cal and mag than Maxibloom, less sulphur as well.

I just read on Greenleaf's website that they've updated the formula for Mega-Crop and started shipping the new mix as of 12/15/18. Hopefully, that's what you got.

Fair enough. But how much awesome northern lights can a guy smoke? A lot of course, lol, but the majority of the cultivars I have in any kind of numbers are regulars vs feminized. So, the way things stand I would have to pick a young plant and reverse it to make some S1s prior to going all in with 12 weeks equaling 12 female plants.

I have been feeding every single plant the exact same thing for their entire life cycles for quite awhile now. I know that isn't optimal, but plants seem to be plugging along despite how root bound they really are.

I have a bunch of seeds that have similar finishing times, so I guess that works in my favor. Not much for keeping track, but it looks like most everything finishes 11-13 weeks from seed, the exception being my Punto Rojo crosses which vary from 12-16 weeks +...

Enough rambling for the night. Bed time...

@TorturedSoul I ordered mine on 1/2/19 so I should be good. Ingredients kind of make me feel like it may be better for vegging. I do believe it will outperform Maxibloom during that stage just based on the npk, but from experience I can say Maxibloom grows some tasty flowers with super low nitrogen and flushes well. Guess we will be finding out soon. I know beez, sue, and many others have tried the Mega-Crop, really the only reason I paid the shipping was for some cheap back up, I changed my mind about that. My ladies need more N in their first 3-4 weeks.

For real now, ak47 dabs whipped my behind, night........

Yeah, I got the same impression from reading on the company's website. But you have the option to use a little less of it and/or add some supplemental phosphorous (or a "PK" combination supplement) so as to adjust the basic NPK ratio a bit.

What I wonder is if Mega-Crop weed will taste as good as Maxibloom weed. After switching to maxibloom I haven't had a batch of grassy buds and everything really tastes great. It's no Heavy16 or anything, but it tastes great for $15 every 9mths... or maybe I am wrong and my plants are super crappy but I dont know any better because I've only ever tried two Nutrient lines, both from GH. My buddy always says my stuff tastes great, but he rarely brings any weed himself so I guess it tastes better than nothing. LOL

Coffee time..

It's amazing how good free weed tastes to your friends. So far I've had no complaints with regard to the taste of the finished product (8 plants worth) from anyone thus far.

Well, that is good news. I'm excited to try it on a new batch of plants.

And yes, even when he brings weed, he seems embarrassed about it. I know it is budget weed and I don't mind, but last time he told me straight up ( after smoking NL x NL) he didnt want to smoke any of his because it just doesnt taste as good as mine. He will be here today, day before his payday, and he gets to try my 2nd TTB which I believe is dry. He is a two hour bus ride away so at least he is not always smoking up all of my stash.

I think that I am going to switch to coco/perlite mixed 50/50 and grow in fabric pots. That is what I keep coming back to, we'll see when I get to the hydro store or get a prepaid card. Should be sometime this weekend.

I harvested the Taller longer flowering time micro size Trailer Trash Betty a few days ago. Started puffing on her yesterday.. unfortunately these are the only pics I have of her, she produced about a dozen seeds. Way more Terps and potency than the faster finishing shorter pheno. I expected more seeds than this, but I am elated to have as many as I do.

Poking around in the tent and I noticed balls on a Red Point x ( Mazar x Guerrero). Talking it over with the wife ended in a dead plant. Simply don't have the space and with the rescheduled inspection we simply cannot keep a Male at this point.

If/when the others show female they will get up potted to their forever homes.

Hey buddy, a dozen seeds is a very respectable small seed harvest. I mean that's a dozen plants...….at a minimum at least 12 ounces of quality buds. And seeds you don't have to buy. I took a look at the prices of the four autoflower strains I'm growing in an effort to make some auto seed stock. The average price is $10.36 (the Quarter Pounders are $14.73 apiece) so that skews the average a bit. But even at $10 per seed you would have saved $120.00 making those 12 seeds.

I know that photoperiod fems run a bit high as well. Shoot, even regular hybrids from hole in the wall breeders can cost way more because they call it a special edition limited run. Wife says we will eventually grow all 12 out and make feminized seeds if the quality is there..

speaking of the quality of unplanned crosses, So far the (Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x SSDC's haven't really impressed me, hence their lack of a new name. One will be finished in a week or so, flush starts tonight, the other still has 2+ weeks.. neither will yield very well by weight and their odors remain bland.

On Sunday I count 7 weeks of flowering for those gals. So 5 weeks for White Widow x Wonder Woman and Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps. Everything else is pretty young. I will take everyone out at morning feeding for a nice photo update, fingers crossed for girly hairs and up canning.

Haven't had a chance to document
the build of my 1100k cob fixture yet, mostly because I haven't had the time to put it together.

Chopped up about 3/4 cup of frozen fresh DDA leaves, 1/4 cup of some older dry Red Point cross leaves from multiple phenos, a few bud stems from TTB, and perhaps 1/2 oz of lower bud crumbs from my wife's uncle's indica. Trying out some fractionated coconut oil (about 8 fl oz) for tinctures/lotions/cooking in my old fashioned double boiler. Decarbing everything but the DDA leaves. I guess it is medicine making day in my world.

Using the fractionated coconut oil because my neighbor cannot have alcohol or glycerin since her stomach surgery + genetic cirrhosis of the liver and I figured I would try to help her and my wife who needs topicals for her busted leg feel a little bit better...

I decarb at 225° for 30-40 minutes in my old oven. The material is sealed in a tin foil packet in an attempt to hinder the loss of terpenes. After cooling, it will be poured into the oil and double boiled for 2-3 hours stirring every now and then.

I promise I will get better with my photo documentation. This is all I got... just over a cup of cannabis infused fractionated coconut oil.

House smells fantastic

Ordered some rockwool cubes today for seed starting, a shop vac, and am looking at picking up some lava rock for my next adventure in hempy buckets. I cannot store a giant bag of perlite or afford to buy it by the small bags. Lava rock should last 2-3 grows and can be purchased in smaller quantities for a very reasonable price. Undecided on the hempy container, thinking somewhere around 1/2 gallon would do really well. Shopping around a bit.

Both Punto Rojo x ( Mazar x Guerrero)s are female. The triploid isn't growing funny at all, just 3 nodes. Also she in her tiny little pre flower state is putting off one heck of an odor. She is going into a 2.5qt nursery pot and her sister is headed to hempy land is the plan.

I topped the Sensi NL last night, not topping the Sensi NL x DDA as she is slow enough going as things are. Chugging along though, both showed sex yesterday so stretch wont be that far down the road. These 4 could all potentially be finished in the same week, although I expect pr x m-g to go a bit longer.

Youngest to oldest

Punto Rojo x ( Mazar x Guerrero) these will be up canned tomorrow as best as I can. Containers were a poor choice.

Sensi NL droopy from being topped

A hurried bad angle shot of Sensi NL x DDA, small but sturdy.

White Widow x Wonder Woman on the left, Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps on the right. The plastic of these micro hempys is questionable, probably porous and will not be used again.. they should be bigger than this.

(Punto Rojo x Unknown) x SSDC. One is maturing faster than the other, but their time is coming soon. The more mature one is three days into flush, that will go on until she looks like hell with mostly cloudy triches. I dont think these got a fair shake. Will not be running this small of plants again anytime soon. Plus I am wasting light..

Nothing exciting at the moment. Grow area is getting a makeover soon.

Up potted the PR x ( Mazar x Guerrero)s. Droopy just as one might expect.

The Sensi NL looks to be recovering from the topping well.

I ph'd the feeding a bit lower yesterday and Sensi NL x DDA looks happier already. I was running about 6.0, closer to 5.6 now

Too old to up pot, the White Widow x Wonder Woman isn't flowering very vigorously. The Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps is coming along much faster at the same age.

( Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x SSDC. They look pretty damn nice considering their mild odor. First one is still being fed, has a bit to go. The other pics are of the faster finishing phenotype, 4 days into flush.

Practicing my update format.

I will be soaking a few seeds tonight. Start them in tiny pots and up pot when they show sex. I have several fun, untested hybrids with awesome potential to choose from. Devils Pitchfork F1 x ( Sensi NL x GG#4) comes to mind.

For my records. Soaking 2- Devil's Pitchfork x ( Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL) and 2-Double Sour Purple Kush (LVPK phenotype)

It is time to figure out how to never let my stash run out. I wanted to make this perpetual on some kind of time table rotation deal, just too big of a pool of genetics I haven't tested. So I will just plant, cull the males/weaklings, and harvest as often as possible. I will replace culled males and such, as they make themselves known (about every 3-4 weeks).

Hoping this all works out well. Either way, I am going to be running a ton of different cultivars from here on out. This summer I plan to run several of my Punto Rojo x Durban Bubbles and Columbian Golds from a recent gift. Will also be making some more hybrid seeds at that time. As tired as I am, my excitement is keeping me up.

I told the wife 2 weeks back that we either needed to grow more weed or shut everything down until we move. Time, money, and effort are not equal to the reward if I am growing plants for 77+ days that can be smoked in an evening. When she agreed and threw down cash to help cover the small upgrades we require to maximize frequency of harvests I was absolutely ecstatic and remain that way.

Not sure if I needed the rockwool starter cubes or not, but I think they are my ticket out of coco coir. The only purpose coco serves in my world is for the initial planting of the seeds. I am still using it and greatly dislike it. I still need to assemble the 1100k fixture, that will happen soon.. possibly by next weekend. Everything has been delayed by just a touch with life taking place.

Apparently Sour Diesel gives me the rambles.

Peace

Nothing above ground yet, they were only been planted yesterday.

Inspection was today, for real this time lol. I really kind of like my small plants. They fit so nicely in a 35ga rubbermaid. Plants were sitting right in the living room for the duration of the landlord's visit and she remained none-the-wiser. Gotten pretty good at this little game we play.

Recieved my rockwool starter plugs yesterday, 50 for like $7 on the bay. Made by Cuteline or something, supposed to have x-fibers versus traditional rockwool. Idk anything about the stuff, cheap enough. Excited and nervous to see how they work. I will probably test them with some of my Devil's Pitchfork F1s since I have an abundance of those beans.. maybe eff around and pop some tonight.

Everything else is going the same, which is wonderful. I don't have time for too much excitement. I will have the grow all squared away by the end of the night. Kids are napping so I have to assemble a care package for someone, maybe dick around with my cob.

Peace.

Quick photo drop from their temporary home.
