Taking My Chances With The Devil: Dark Devil Auto & Devil's Crack Auto

I love a lot of pictures especially when they are of beautiful frosty buds. I think I like the color of the buds on the NL X GG4 better.

I do too. Big fan of purples and @SweetSue says that purple signals the presence caryophyllene which I know is great for inflamation.

All that being said, the Sensi x Nirvana is going to yield me what I imagine will be at least double that of the NL x GG#4.

Based on overall ripeness NL x GG#4 will be harvested all at once while the Sensi NL x Nirvana NL will have the main stem chopped and the lowers thrown under the mars300 to finish for up to one more week. Harvest day will be busy and stinky around here this time around.

Wow! Nice micro breeding! Those are some frosty babies. :high-five:

You’re running a 4000K? I’m starting a DDA that I plan to run start to finish under Brix’s veg lights. If what you’re growing is an indicator of what I can expect, I can live with that. :battingeyelashes:

Yes, 4000k. I added a Mars300 just a couple days ago, but the 4k has been doing a fine job at less than 24 watts per sq/ft. I wanted a little more Red light and the extra watts let me make better use of the space in my rectangular tent, 32" x 48" is mighty irregular.

As far as micro breeding goes, I thought about it one day and then just did it. Perfect for someone running short on seeds and space. I am not low on seeds, but certainly space is always an issue

I am horrible at taking harvest shots. Today I was surprised by an abundance of amber trichomes coating Sensi NL x GG#4. I checked one seed for ripeness, not ripe yet. I chopped the top 2/3 of the plant, sealed the wound with tape and fed her, the lower buds are still cloudy/clear

Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL is pretty much done today too, but I am going to "flush" her for a few more days, see if I can get some of those foxtail pistils to brown up, and get that one big fan leaf to turn full purple.

That's a plant/strain that would benefit from being topped 2-3 times. The buds themselves looks really nice. I hope it's knockout strong stuff for you.

I agree, with topping and training I could really up the yield. The buds are small but fairly solid. Potency shouldn't be a problem with this frosty lady.

It only took one look this morning to know that chop was upon us. 4 days ago my wife said to leave it, had a ways to go. This morning she looked at it and said to chop it.

If the quality is there I'm okay with a smaller plant. And the NL and GG#4 are easy to keep short and they get bushy and fill with buds.

I will definitely enjoy growing more of her in the future. This gal will be replaced with a Sensi NL fem.

I am trying to coordinate things to get my Red Point breeding run going. Toss up between 12oz or 20oz hempy and I dont quite know how many beans of which crosses to pop. All have the same Columbian Punta Rojo father and the mothers were: Mazar x Guerrero, The One, Purple Zebra, and Durban Bubble. I also have a small stash that came from Unknown mothers, but all are Swami genetics. I really only care about finding one particular pheno, but she has been elusive thus far... should have taken cuttings.

Smoking some smaller, not quite dry Sensi NL x GG#4 buds... potent little buggers. Tastes great (will be even better when they dry), smells amazing and they are nice and dense. High is standard indica hybrid. I wake and baked this morning and am only smoking this cultivar today to get the full experience so I can properly pass judgement. So far it is not letting me down.

I may have been a bit messy with pollen as there are a few randomly placed seeds. I have plucked 4 so far; 3 are ripe, 1 is close, probably still viable though.

The lowers started straight water again, she will get a day or two more and then I will let the roots dry for a couple days. Buds are pretty ripe, just wanna make sure the seeds are done.

Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL is just about done. Swelling appears to have subsided. Showing some nice fall colors and kicking out the Terps. I am considering tomorrow for harvesting the top 2/3 of her.

Devil's Pitchfork (my project).... I plucked one seed pod today. These F2 Seeds should be ripe in a week, plant should be done in 2-3 weeks, maybe as late as 4... In case someone just drops in; Devil's Pitchfork = ( Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x DDA

Trailer Trash Betty's are both coming along. Haven't checked on seed status of either pheno. While they seem to be flowering at the same pace, the short pheno is far frostier than the tall.

Next up is the 2 (Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x SSDC. Both are flowering well for their age... a couple of observations; low odor like the father, short stature like the mother.

White Widow x Wonder Woman is a cute little plant. Nice odor, pretty average for her age I guess.

Now, this is the real winner of the test plants so far.. still very young. The smell is out of this world. A stem rub produces a smell similar to a pit bull after sticking its face up a skunk's ass... true story.... this is a Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps. As far as I know, the breeder has had these for awhile and has not tested them yet... carbon filter is a necessity for anyone that ends up with a few of these beans. Damn.

Will put up a couple photos later to complete the update. Busy little tent I have running here

Here are the pics

Lots of frosty plants. Do you try to grow them so short? The TTB for instance are they even a foot tall?

Not even. It's all about container size. The TTB short pheno is probably 6" tall, the tall pheno 10". All of them in the 9cm pots and 12oz hempys are test plants and seed makers. I am going to run 3 of the bigger pots this next round and may do a 1 gallon hempy as well.

Red Point breeding will be in 20oz hempys, even in that small of container they (red points) will get to 2ft.

Edit to add, some finished buds. From se Sensi NL x GG#4...Frostiest plant grown yet.

Very frosty. Can't wait for a smoke report after it's dried. I would have said after cure but I don't get the idea cure a whole lot?

The wife and I said eff long term jar curing for several reasons. I know that we really miss out on that long cure terpene profile, I am not scoffing at the method, it just doesnt work in my world.

I have made attempts in the past, and for the most part I ended up with stinky hay that gets me stoned but tastes like butthole. My daily life can be chaotic and I just dont have the memory space available to remember to burp jars. I cant afford to lose precious crops to poor curing.

My process is very simple. First I trim all of the fan leaves that arent coated with trichomes, I dont trim sugar leaves at all. Then I chop the plant where I chose to (really liking two part harvests), hang it from a clothes hanger in my grow tent. Check daily until desired bud consistency. Smoke.

This goes against what everyone teaches, I know. I think it works great in the current living situation. One shared space to grow, flower, dry.
