Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Most common earthworm species, such as Lumbricus terrestris, which can often be dug up in the garden, are eminently suitable for freshwater fishing. However, on a commercial scale they are not really candidates for worm farming for providing fishing bait. The greyish brown common earthworms are deep burrowing (anecic) and do not readily breed in the shallow worm farm bins. The red compost worms, such as the well known red wiggler or the exotic European nightcrawler, are better candidates, as they are epigeic or surface dwellers. This is the reason that red worms are more usually available commercially for bait worms. Their natural home is just below the surface in rotting leaves, dung heaps and other plant litter. They are called detritivourous because they eat detritus (waste material).

The larger species, the European nightcrawler is much sought after for fishing bait as it tolerates near freezing water and is one of the few earthworms suitable for salt water fishing. These worms can grow up to 7 inches in length, but usually are between 3 to 4 inches long. Worm farmers also offer other worm species for bait, depending on availability, which usually depends on the prevalent climatic conditions.

are any of those bait worms? I ask because I can get them quickly if they're bait worm from a tackle shop. In 2 weeks or so, I can gather

Nothing to lose in trying Ziggy. I'm pretty sure the bait ones are night crawlers. I know BAS sells a mix.

Sue, can you sew? Have you looked into making your own smart pots? That's our plan when my mom has free sewing time between the dresses, sheets, curtains, hot pads, costumes, and the million other projects she has going for the grandkids and family.

Making your own has so many benefits. Decreased cost, tailored to size and space, and great for many applications.

This is in my plans. I need to locate a good source for the fabric.

I would like to introduce "Sweet80'sSue" strain to the world...

She appears to be sweet and gentle already. If it turns out she is a he, she will be renamed "Dales80SweetSue" until we get a female "Sweet80'sSue" to breed him with. That will be the base of seeds for a new strain called Sweet80'sSue.

De nada...

I was chatting with the genetics company. They are salivating here. If our sweet sue is a girl, I will make clones, get a batch of them going, and then take 1 and give it C.S., and generate a bunch of Fem seeds for sharing.

Sweet80'sSue will then have clones sold at my local dispensary to get the name into the NorCal lexicon locally. These seeds are primarily Humboldt stuff from the 80's so interested in what she ends up looking like.

Awesome link, I hadn't seen that before.

Have you considered including a top on the fabric pot?

I would think a top would inhibit soil respiration. It would also cut the light from the mulch. I'm not sure that would matter though. What advantage do you see in a top?

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I recycle mine 4 times.....could go longer if I added more promix.

I've had the soil re-tested and the mineral broadcast re-formulated for 3rd and 4th rounds of use. As long as people stay within reason, the soil can be re-used up to 6 times....but I find quality starts to decrease much after that.

I've bought ONE bag of Promix in the last 6 months....the rest is all recycled soil.

ONE BAG!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh. I'm like 12 bales deep now.

That is beyond cool aki. I need to tell Dale about this tomorrow. He's been so sick since Saturday that we haven't talked much, just sit together while I roam through 420. Let's see how tomorrow goes. They're doing an endoscopy to try and see if something in the stomach is causing the nausea. Poor guy. Hasn't eaten in two days now. Frustrating.

We would have gnats or we wouldn't have gnats? Eventually every well-managed no-till eliminates the gnat challenge. Pretty much across the board from what I can see.

What's the exact current genetics behind this?
Is it an ibl? S1 currently?

Colloidal silver is only going to produce female pollen technically.

What ppm c.s. You thinking?

So your goal is a s1.

Someday Dutty, you're going to talk like that and I'll actually understand what you're saying. :laughtwo: That breeders thread may help me there. An exciting thread.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

To be more easier to understand she grows male balls and there full of female pollen.

With two female parents all seeds will be female.

Cs is great for female female crosses.
