Shoot I'm so confident I'll bet that if I run my jilly on house and garden under a 600 and the Los under the 1000 my HG we will see still may out preform. Gonna try but I'm gonna be brutally honest and show every aspect.

Interesting converse. I believe the potency is in the genetics. Either it has it or it doesn't. However when harvested can make all the difference in the buzz you get. My wife likes the "uppy" "busy weed" as she calls it. (Sativas or Indicas taken early) I like the more narcotic, "couch-lock buzz" (indicas with amber) so I grow mostly indica and let them go till the trichs are at least 50% amber.

The THC content is related to the genetics, IMHO. If you can "up" the potency with a suppliment, then I would but that shizz.

But I am always learning and open to input.

this is a very intresting topic of discussion. I've been following this guy for a while now, his name is Bubbleman and it's safe to say that he is one of the biggest hashish connoisseurs. He made a video about terpine degradation and how much they change, a change that he thought was degradation but turns out that it was not. Around 8:09 into this video is where he brings out his 7 years old cured master kush bubblehash, he explains a lot about curing techniques and how even different curing containers can play a big part when you're curing something for that long, then he takes a hit off that MK and puts out an in depth analysis on what it has become over the years.

Keep in mind he has a product to sell.

He's correct though it can be kept longer than most think but it still will degrade period.

Genetics are the biggest factor but stress whether from nutrients or environmental factors can increase not only yield but potency. I've gained 7% thc on the blue diesel over 2 years of working with it.

Was 14% now 21+ so stress can create more resin

As for why I test before a 2 month cure is I dont trust them handling a really dried and cured specimen. I have a lot riding on each test sometimes 10g plus. So that 60$ test needs to be treated like a organ delivery in my opinion.

It's an interesting thought, keeping herb that long. I just try to still have some of the old stuff while the new stuff is drying and curing.

maybe too many variables...strain, environment, grower, etc
just like other produce..an apple may look like another apple but if not grown same as an apple grown lets say HB, it will be different in flavor, nutrition, etc.

I have seen stress cause a bigger yield by accident. I broke a branch while watering a plant once and it turned out to make a larger cola than the main growth tip of the plant. After reading up I learned of "pinching/Supercropping". But increase potency?

Did you get an increase in potency from the same cloned strain?

yeah he is a cool guy, he is also a judge in concentrate competitions. He can be kinda snobby about things but he knows his stuff :thumb:

I did find that interesting brother. Thanks for sharing. It had me thinking about the effects of a well-executed cure.

GhettoGro, I agree, the potency is in the genetics. Take that potent genetics and plant it into crap soil under insufficient lights and you end up with crap potency. Take that same genetics and plant the seed into soil designed to offer the plant everything it could possibly desire, under adequate light and maintaining environmental control and you end up with superior potency. Good genetics sets the potential. Good gardening practices bring that potential to life.

I've met him he's an ass hat. Last year at cup he was a prick straight up. Out right was bashing other products similar to his. Came across as a dick his booth from my understanding got killed by boldt bags.

He wasnt a judge there but sure had his open opinions. Very very cocky

He's very knowledgeable though so he does speak from experience but total dick

yeah i totally agree on that, he definitely knows stuff but he can also be a huge dick sometimes.

I've tried multiple days of darkness etc etc etc. I've seen no increase extra lumens I've seen better product all around.

I know this is just crazy but switching nutrients also increased test results I have documentation another reason house and garden won me over all the other products

Advanced nutrients was close though
