Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL - LED

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I'd love it if you'd send me your absolute pickiest strain you have dutty. I'd grow it in the same pots as everything else and see what happens. You see, it's not that I don't believe that some strains of cannabis have different feeding requirements than others. It's that the soil food web is so in tune with the plant, they are functioning together and feeding each other's needs. As good of a grower as anyone could ever become feeding their plants, they would have a hard time giving the SFW a run for it's money. The problem is we as gardeners hurt the soil food web, and most of us never get to see it's true potential.

Too bad doc bud now has that genetic and I actually finally figured it out. It needed to get 6 tablespoons of epsom per 4 gallons of feed water no joke ask 36. Doubled the yield and didn't lock up. So each have preferences

I believe that over time myself included. People breeding have made some Strains very salt and nute dependent and thats whats happened. And it's gonna get even crazier. In this which is a profession organic or Los means jack shit to the consumer he or she looks up at top shelf and asks this "what's the highest testing" or if not they will tell you.

I've seen organic tests. Not the grow with my own eyes for the record but those tests. The potency that I've seen are significantly lower. I'm not gaining anything by saying just stating what I've observed . And this is my livelihood if Los produced 30% strains. I'm in. But in this world I need to have what the demand for and it isn't a form of organic growing

That being said once I start this recreational grow I'll retire to a tent for medical and then sure I'll be Au natural

OK Doc. A couple tablespoons on the surface, under the mulch. Sound good?

Yep! Water it in with one of your teas, perhaps. I think you'll see a decrease in bugs rather quickly.

Also not saying it's bad but Los in definition is inviting living other biological organisms of all kinds into the grow. I feel indoor the true measure of success is how well you can make a perfect environment not match mother nature's but improve upon. And a sterile environment gives one more control.

We certainly are inviting lots of organisms into the grow. I agree sterile gives you more control. Like bottled nute regimens give you more control. To grow great plants organically in LOS, you have to give up some of that control and trust that the soil mix, and the soil food web will grow the plant. I love chatting with you about this stuff, Dutty. I'm not trying to sell you on anything. Just love discussing growing with folks who are experienced in conventional growing of cannabis. Is that an ok term? GFC said the other day, "actual gardening". I bit my lip slightly there.

I know. Hey I'm glad we agree on control. I'm not trusting my plants I'm sure they would love to punish me.

I'd say you guys garden more I just grow pot

I know very Lil about the stuff you all do. In all reality I know some but unfortunately it's the bottom line that matters to me. I need the highest testing product possible while yielding well with very little (prep) work. Time is money.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Dude, I'm running an elite in LOS and plan on having it potency tested. I'll freely share whatever results happen to be. Maybe your right, I don't really know. I know my herb can be deadly potent. We will see, I guess.

Question, when do you send a sample in for peak potency? Does it matter?

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I test approximately the third nug down on most prominent cola not always as i forget which it was lol.

I test once it's trimmed right before cure so after hanging 7-10 days. But before cure.

Yep. And if you can get it in a healthier way, with the same or less work, and for less cost that's a pretty cool deal.

Im going 7000 Sq ft potentially so my views are about to become even more penny pinching I bet.

Totally agree that why I spend 2000 plus in tests and such per year. Not counting trying new products.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

It's 40$ for me to get it tested. Sounds cool, why not? Results mid May. Sounds like I just get it dry and bring them one if the frostiest nugs, which do seem to be mid canopy. Or at least not the very tops.

So do you think if you tested after a 6-8 week cure your potency would go down? The one I got tested did cure for about 7-8 weeks.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

My plants don't even know I exist, lol.
Mine do. I surround them with my love and talk to them all the time. That would be the same with 7,000 square feet. You could count on it.

I have to smile at how you dismiss LOS as unsustainable and non-profitable Dutty, without seriously giving it a run for the money. Yes, no doubt strains can be picky and demanding. LOS growers over the past five years or more are finding that their no-till gardens are performing better with each consecutive cycle. That means bigger, stronger, healthier plants and more potent harvest. Consistently, and without this problem with picky strains you fear so much.

Your success with absolute control of the plant is undeniable. No one questions it. We find ourselves bemused that you would completely discount a proven system that apparently meets the diverse needs of any strain, picky or not, and does so with minimal investment of time and money and the complete lack of any bottled nutrients at all.

See, CO and I can't believe that you would choose the hard way when a proven easier method that produces purer product and cleaner smoke is here for the trying. In all seriousness Dutty, we are not trying to disparage what you choose. To each his own. But we can't stay quiet when we have found a soil mix that is this effective and care free. We know this is sustainable and we suspect that it would be incredibly profitable in the right hands. And yes, in time and with proper maintenance, this soil will grow strong enough that pest control becomes a non-issue (barring those surprise guests that ride in on the clones). Again, not a pipe dream but proven in practice.

But LOS requires you to give up the control and trust the soil food web. Build the soil and trust. Many of us will never allow ourselves to be that vulnerable. We understand that. We will continue to do our "gardening" and wait for others to notice that what we "preach" is based on fact. We're happy and thick-skinned farmers smoking our incredibly potent cannabis that our soil grew for us. It's ok if you want to work harder and stick to what you know has worked well for you. That's your choice. No one can fault you for it.

I LOVE finding pages of discussion when I log on in the morning.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 14

Can you believe it? Two weeks old already. You wait forever for them to be born, you blink and .....

On this glorious morning of rebirth and unrestrained universal joy, here's our little Devil. Starting to turn it up a notch. This is where I get excited. Oh, who am I kidding? I find every moment from prep to harvest exciting. :laughtwo:

The living mulch is really taking over the open pot. I trimmed back Devil's pot, keeping the light access open for her. The reservoirs each took a quart today to top off. It surprises me how consistent the water draw is with this system.

image22664.jpg

"Hear the bells ring, they're singing that you can be born again "

The living mulch decided to celebrate with the joyful universe on this Easter morning. Sweet.

Fill your day with joy. I know I will. :green_heart:

I'll be trying it on one plant soon under a thousand. And well have it comparatively tested. I'm gonna probably do Jillybean in Los and in my mix. And I know how to push it with house and garden so we will see
