Malawi (Day 108, flip + 62)

IMG_516710.JPG

I was figuring a minimum 72 days with her, and she looks like she might be ready to extend her stay. Six days ago I gave her a 1/2-strength Growth Energy drench on Graytail's advice. The plan was to watch the new growth. If she greened up, go with Energy for the next drench. If she showed no improvement in greening, go with Transplant.

All new growth looks wonderfully green and healthy. She got a Growth Energy drench. :battingeyelashes:

I love the crazy look of her trichomes.

IMG_51788.JPG

Her branches are covered with headless trichomes. Just amazing!

IMG_5179.PNG

Pill have to devise a way to harvest all that essential oil. Lol!

IMG_5180.PNG

I couldn't be more relieved. We learned so much from this girl already. Her dilemma changed the way I use the kit, and my expectation is that this will result in much happier plants.

Ultra Dawg 1.1 (Day 125, flip + 51) She had her third flush today. Sometime in the next week she'll be harvested. She speaks for herself. :battingeyelashes:

Weekly Update: GROWant GR240 Sponsored tent - Carnival 4.4 - Friday, November 3, 2017

IMG_51287.JPG

IMG_512910.JPG

What a lovely specimen. :dreamy: Now 75 days old, 41 of them since upcanning. I keep chopping her back, she keeps surprising me by recovering overnight. Lol! Apparently, having the entire tent to herself agrees with her. :laughtwo:

She's holding at the highest vegging nutrient suggestion, 12 ml of Parts A&B and 4 ml of Energy, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water. She's chomping at the bit, with just a wee bit of training to get through before flip.

As I was turning away to head for the spa, I determined there was no time like the present to get her serious training started.

IMG_52029.JPG

I can do better than that.

IMG_52036.JPG

There ya go. A little softening of the branches and some gentle pressure and I'm much happier with that. Pigeons would be proud. Lol!

IMG_520613.JPG

IMG_520711.JPG

She'll bounce right back, and hopefully slowly enough to give the smaller shoots time to catch up. Another couple weeks and she'll be ready to flip.

Candy Cane 3.1 is right at the current height limit. I still have more verticle room to work with, but I think she might be done stretching.

IMG_51159.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.6 (Day 88, flip + 32) She's cruising on high octane, 16 ml of Parts A & B, 8 ml of Bulk, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water. I'm pleased with this hempy grow. I'm still waiting to see how the trichomes express, but right now she's giving off all the right signs.

IMG_512010.JPG

Candy Cane 3.1 (Day 79, flip + 12) Finishing up her intro stage to bloom nutes, she's drinking at the rate of 14 ml of Parts A & B, 1 ml of Energy, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water. I hope to God she's done stretching. Containing this chemovar is getting to be a frustration. Maybe I need a replacement for the services she provides. Someone that doesn't think she has to reach the stars. :laughtwo:

IMG_512311.JPG

She's breathtakingly beautiful though.

Weekly Update: The Spa - Friday, November 3, 2017

Wow! Harvest a couple and suddenly the space is manageable again. Lol! This grow space has seen more than its fair share of surprises this week.

IMG_513710.JPG

Blue Dream S1 (Day 93, flip + 20) Her current feed schedule is running 14 ml of Parts A & B, 8 ml of Bulk, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water.

IMG_513812.JPG

A perfect little specimen, quietly clicking along without a care in the world.

Jamaican Bag Seed (Day 115, flip + 39) Three days ago she got a Transplant drench. I'm way behind on the foliars. I'll set the alarm for morning.

IMG_51478.JPG

For all I put her through, she's going out of her way to bless me with sweet nugs of delight that smell of tropical fruit salad. It's an unbelievably intoxicating scent. I find myself wandering in here many times a day just to give her a sniff. :laughtwo:

IMG_51519.JPG

IMG_51524.JPG

I'm figuring somewhere around another two weeks and she'll be in her harvest window. Can't wait to try this one, to be honest. Something about her scent lights me up. :battingeyelashes:

A nice feature of the free-hanging CFL's is the ability to get the buds right up in there.

IMG_51629.JPG

And that, ladies and gentlemen, completes the nickle tour. I do hope it brought you a measure of joy. It adds to my personal joy to be able to share them with you, so thank you so much for stopping by. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I have a concert to get to get ready to usher. I'll be meeting everyone tonight, so it'll be something of a whirlwind. Wish me luck. :ciao:

I don't like this at all! I've been using that cheap eBay stuff exclusively for the past month or so (and have a couple more unopened bottles), and haven't had any issues so far. I wonder if I should increase the strength of my mix? I do feel my buds should be larger for the length of time they've been flowering, but my only recent experience has been outdoors so I might not have realistic expectations. Now I have to check on the "Energy" and "Bulk" I got on Amazon to see if it's full strength or not.

Yeah, I was a little surprised at this. I don't remember the ad specifying this wrinkle. I'm not sure if doubling it up will work. It might be too much concentration, but I'll be exploring ways to boost flowering, for sure. I'll also be starting the replacement fund for those emptied bottles.

Or giving the Osmo + another look.

Yes, yes, yes! I love that you love what we do! :circle-of-love:

:laughtwo: Sometimes I feel like I feel into some magical wonderland. Lol! I love growing so much I can't believe I had so many years without it. Everything in its right time. :battingeyelashes:

Thanks for the warning Jim. The Spa girls are in the hands of the canna gods. If they've been pollinated, so be it. :battingeyelashes: She hangs at the end of the hallway, removed from everyone else. The fans should offer some protection, don't you think? It has to hang for about a week to be dry enough to save the pollen, to my understanding.

If you have a pollinated branch, my experience is about 4 weeks for seeds to mature. I use that as a minimum time frame. There is theories about seeds bringing different flavors and expressions, making it more like the smoke of old which always had seed. I dunno. Doesn't matter to me as long as it brings pleasure.

So many interesting possibilities arise. I'll consult with Nis. We weren't expecting SweetSue to be part of the stabilization effort. Lol!

Indeed he may want to do an experiment. Or not.

my experience with 'orient express' was the backcross stabilized the original cross (the original cross had one pheno that nannered bad). my next generations (3) have been more stable each time.
What you got in there UDawg? another Carn? Did ya have a CBD in there?
Maybe some free carnival dom seeds. . . might prove to boost vigor of any stain with the open pollination.
the thrill of the possibility. More you learn, the more you learn.

If you run them, Just put them in your most stable environment for flower and watch for nanners.

Happy day Sweets :surf:

Edit: i ordered an earthbox today, new grow will start in about 2 months, prolly after Turky-daze.:MoreNutes:

Whadda think. You ready to talk Osmo vs liquid yet?

Yes I am Tead. This latest wrinkle, coming on the heels of three reasonably successful Osmo + harvests..... I think the next one gets run in Osmo. Time to refine my technique with the prills.

I found a "Feeding Schedule for Non-Concentrate Nutrients" at the very bottom of their feed schedule page on their site. It seems to just be double A & B. So I guess they aren't watered down they are "Non-Concentrated" ::eyeroll::

So I guess I've been using about half strength of these already half strength A & B but full strength Energy and Bulk. My plants do look nice and healthy but like I said I feel like my buds aren't as big as they should be. I'll try to take some pictures tonight right before the lights go on if I remember.

Here is a couple pictures I just took they seem healthy and I guess the buds are filling out nicely, they are clones from outdoors so like i mentioned I might have unrealistic expectations. They are about one month into flowering, and have been getting those watered down nutes for two months.

You might have some cal/mag issues there Doob, but other than that, they look good for a month in. This is my CBD Critical Cure at 34 days of flowering lights.

IMG_512010.JPG

They look to be at the same pace of flower development, don't you think? Outside plants will always outperform indoor ones in flowering. Aside from the obvious benefit of the sun itself, you also benefit from the fungi in the soil.

I missed this post when I left the last one Doob. So, if we double this "professional formula" we'll come up with the same as what we would have paid top dollar for? :laughtwo: I'm ok with that. I won't make this mistake again, but I'll get the plants through, and get the money together to buy another round.

Or shift back to Osmo + and run my more important medicinal plants with Doc's kit.

At less than $250 to run the kit for a year, it's looking more and more like the smarter choice. Wish I could convert that magic to hempy.

To clarify Doob, double the volume of the nutrients to get it up to the concentrated formula?

Those look very undeveloped for their age to me. Who knows tho as many strains can go from small buds to huge the last 3 or 4 weeks.

For many it's crucial that they have lots of nutes the last week or so when many are ignorantly flushing their plants at a critical point.

Growing the same strain a few times is needed to realize their full potential

Good luck!

Thank you for that insight OldMedUser. :hugs: I'm still relatively new to the bottled nutrients, and I've yet to study the process more closely than what the instructions on the bottles say. I've been thinking about that flush schedule. I recall Shiggity giving us a lesson on this particular point, and insisting that starving your plants in the last week of development may not be our smartest course.

May I ask how you approach this decision in your own garden? Because I grow them big and beautiful others assume I know WTH I'm doing. :laughtwo: Few understand the true power of living a life driven by inspiration, but one of my benefits is I've managed to grow some decent cannabis without really knowing what I'm doing. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Since I've arrived here it seems I've questioned everything everyone's taken for granted in cannabis cultivation. I've opened rooms where we explore drying in unusual ways and making oil on the day of harvest. Prohibition created some whacky processes IMO. Someone has to question. :laughtwo:

Good morning everyone

Had a grand time last night. Citizen Cone is a likable act with a devoted fan base. It's always so pleasant to watch the love flow between entertainer and loving audience. Before I left the apartment I downed a brownie. Standing at the back of the music hall, next to the soundboard, I was watching the intermission crowd when the drummer stopped to talk to their sound technician. As we struck up a brief conversation I looked around at all the drunken people filing by, and the jovial crowd in the seats and commented

"I'm probably higher than anyone else in here."

It was an interesting exchange of words following that casual conversation bomb. Lol!

Tonight we have a boxing match I'll be ushering for, and next Tuesday a concert with David Crosby, one of the more popular shows every year. It turns out this music hall has a steady run of events, four in this week alone. How much time I want to spend with my new group of friends soaking up culture will determine how many events I sign up for, but honestly, I get to see all of the acts for free and build new relationships in my neighborhood. This is a winning situation no matter how I look at it.

Can't believe this didn't occur to me earlier. Plus.... I joined at the beginning of the high holidays, which means I'll be invited to the yearly celebratory parties. :slide: More opportunities to bond.

Ahhhh...... I remembered to set the alarm, so the two soil girls finally got Brixed. Getting the foliars done in a timely manner is my next step to mastering Doc's kit. :laughtwo: Today the Jamaican and Malawi got a light misting before lights blinked on.

The Jamaican is packing on the trichomes. :yahoo:

IMG_52318.JPG

She still smells like the most delicious tropical fruit salad. :dreamy:

IMG_523311.JPG

Malawi is an explosion of blooms. A few more weeks here, I'm hoping.

IMG_52348.JPG

I caught this sparkle from the corner of my eye, buried deep inside Ultra Dawg.

IMG_52358.JPG

I'm waiting for the appearance of the first amber trichomes. She'll come down the next morning.

IMG_52399.JPG

The alarm goes off that early and my brain gets confused. "What's that noise????" :laughtwo: I missed chance to walk in the sunshine the past couple days, with weather being so damp and changeable lately, so I'm gonna cut this short and get some quick food into me so I don't miss it today.

Joy my friends...... deliberately reach for thoughts that give you that rush of joyful anticipation. Keep that energy flow active in your life. Allow your dreams to come true without all that "doing" we get so caught up in. I'm learning to resist the urge to "make it happen" and simply allow it to flow. After a lifetime of training to be action-oriented this has been quite the adventure. Lol!

I'm off to the kitchen to get the day rolling. I'll catch up to you all later. :ciao:

You might have some cal/mag issues there Doob, but other than that, they look good for a month in.

Thanks, do you see it in more then that last picture? That's my triage tent, those two are different. I didn't mean to put that picture up, they are soil not hempy that one on the left seems to need lots more nutes then my soil mix provides. The one on the right I accidentally tried to kill a few weeks ago with some runoff water so it's got issues too. I started giving them the RX green about three weeks ago though. Obviously they need something stronger. I do add GH "Calimag" and "Armor Si" silicon to my mix and use unfiltered tap water.

These plants also dealt with an extreme heat situation a couple weeks ago. It stayed well above 100° for a week or so and topped out at 114°. With the fans, the tents hardly broke 100°, but that's still not good. They never showed major issues, but could've slowed their development I'm sure.

In any case I'm going to be upping my nutes and see how it goes.

To clarify Doob, double the volume of the nutrients to get it up to the concentrated formula?

I just found the other feeding chart on their site, no further info. I will email them on Monday for clarification.

Thanks! The clone mothers were outdoors and basically the same general size as these (maybe a bit bigger), but seemed to have larger nugs and leaves too actually at this stage.

These were also vegged basically the whole time with those watered down nutes, that can't be good.

I have two more clones of each waiting in the wings so next time I'll start them out with the correct nute feeding schedules and see the difference.

I'll be interested in seeing how things change in your garden. I've only used the diluted nutes for one watering of one plant, so you saved me potential devastation. Thank you for being so timely in your post. I'll start doubling up the nutrients.

Edit: Let me know what you hear back from them. I may send an inquiry of my own.
